    Epic piece of american history, regards. I allways wondered why Nasa didn`t attempt to launch this system with kind of flybackboosters. Shuttle program should get a revive, with some serious refinements, a bit smaller, no solids to refurbish.

    Hi there, @ShotgunNinja, i have a little feedback from my interplanetary (Target Joolsystem) transfervessel examination, everything works quite well and reasonable, i think i can send six kerbals with three (better four) greenhouses to a longterm nearly selfsufficient mission with some confidence of survival... But one thing gives me headackes, the amount of nitrogen needed to maintain the pressure of a vessel with around 150m3 or way more atmosphere is quite... extreme... in case of a sudden need to depressurize the whole shebang for various reasons and refill the livingspace again while on journey makes the amount of nitrogen needed really immense... i know it is a design decision but couldn`t it be that excessive use of ducttape might decrease the amount of nitrogen leaking through the hull...? I would be happy if the leakrate could be the half of the current size... still a challenge for long journeys... Just saying... Cheers!

    True, only just the idea for this endevour is real tough, despite attempting it for real... even if you manage the half or a third of all the science /biomes and whatnots... take your time and keep the fun !

    @Andrea Galimberti, hi there, here the explanation: The ship is a fork, the gap is on the left side in the front between the viewing cupola and a slanted nosecone which is attached to the MK1 passenger cabin. Its connected with two struts there. The habitat is connected to the left part of the fork on the mentioned left side. It looks like a loop but it isn`t in fact, the command pod in front is part of the right side of the fork. All masses are distributed evenly though. Imagine the rootpart as the rear dockingport, start from there, reassign the rootpart then to somewhere else, the dockingport in front for example, very easy.

    I played orbiter from its beginnings and it lacks the choice of "engineering" spacecraft yourself. Vast distances make the void between celestial bodys a abysmal boring place. Not much to do aside a certain amount of some pseudo lifesupport and ship system management. But newtonian physics are great, Dr Schweiger is a pioneer nonetheless. Allways worth to try this gem for anyone interested. It`s free software...

    A impressive and honest conversation. @hazard-ish, @Matt Lowne, both of you deserve respect for your efforts being honest people. Mr. Lowne is obviously a very kind person and Mr. "Hazard-ish" aswell, who has my personal "absolution". I am personnaly amazed about certain things i see and read in this forum. "Wooow..."
