The third question lacks enough options to get actual results. -
radial seperators
Rath replied to rockets-don't-make-toast's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Stick on a cubic octagonal strut, attach .625m separator to that, stick on plane. -

Someone should build a light helicopter to help lift roofing up. It's damn heavy. can you guess what I'm doing right now?
-
No, thats a clone of a clone. It's like photocopying a photocopy, it gets degraded, so he had negative rep. It would only be a partial restore, only the threads would be restored. I bet they have a backup, but they are trying to figure out how to get a partial restore of the 25 threads up.

It would be cool if I could import space engine maps into stellaris. Or go backwards, let it run for a few million or billion years and get a realistic galaxy (if tiny) to import back in.

More like the morgue, with you parents trying to identify your mangled body.

This must have been stolen from russia. It's just too weird and ugly. If it's flashy its american, if it's ugly it's brittish, if its weird it's french, if it's weird and ugly, its russian. This plane fits into the russia category to damn well.

You met cosmonauts for long enough to see their personalities? I need to hear more, and where do I sign up? Who do I need to kill?
-
WHY!

Perhaps the plane could work off of some sort of really high energy density batteries and solar panels, and never actually land, just be dropped from orbit and fly forever (Or until the electronics fail)? If it was big enough to incorporate mid-air docking, it could even have little rocket powered shuttles bring up crew to service it (If it was able to run with some of the engines off, and if it could fly at high enough altitude for wing walking for changing solar panels to be sensible) or even to use it as a long range inter-base transport.

It feels strange that an aircraft with straight wings can be just as fast as a lawn dart. Obviously wing sweep should do something, and while it would slow down straight wing aircraft, most people's spaceplanes already follow this for aesthetics. It shouldn't be very complicated, no Mach cones or somesuch. Dihedral wings should also auto-stabilize along the roll axis, like it does IRL.

@Majorjim!'s sig checks out. PS are you an actual Major? -
I'm sure.

Maybe you could shove a drogue chute on the bottom for testing?

Expanding Bases
Rath replied to Kerbal Fried Chicken's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
You could possibly use the claw, or mount some small engines to the side and drive it up so you can adjust the height with the engines to it can dock. -
A ICBM Would.
-
Oh I was dumb dumb...
-
Did any parts survive? Cause that's a requirement so it's not a "how many vectors can your comp take?" Challenge.
-
It great, the only thing that I would like to see would be the cargo bay doors being limited is openness to they look a bit more realistically viable.
-
I mostly use it for radar domes on drones or somesuch.
