  1. MechJeb. Readouts and an autopilot for just-in-case situations.
  2. I think that habitable planets are semi-rare (1 for every 5-10 stars with planets), but with at least 300 billion stars with planets in the Milky Way, that's 30 billion - 60 billion habitable planets within reach of a good Alcubierrie drive! However, life evolving by chance on a certain planet is extremely rare, probably at a rate of only one time per galaxy. But, I think panspermia is plausible. After all, some microorganisms are extremely hardy. So, if panspermia is correct, life might be as common as being on one out of every three habitable planets! But intelligent life is very rare.
  3. Voted for KSP! Yay! OK, what ridiculous rocket should we explode as a celebration if we win?
  4. Ok... You have to do a post-singularity Circus on an interstellar mission!
  5. Why, our brave heroes will return for an Urlum mission in 1.1, of course! As Yoda would say, "Not the end of the Traveling Circus, this is, but the beginning."
  6. Uh... Duh? Ok, 85 Mm... That's a score of about 7060! Amazing job!
  7. Get a probe as close to Kerbol as you can! (No Hyperedit, obviously, but non-ridiculous part mods are allowed. YES, NO ALT+F12 EITHER!!!) Your score will be calculated as 1000000*(600000/closest distance (in meters, not kilometers)). Screenshots will be helpful, but are not required if you are not a liar (required if you are ). Bonus points if your probe comes back to Kerbin, and/or if it's manned. Top scorers: Foxster - 85 Mm, 7060
  8. So, I heard some people talking about this prank here on the forums, and then Scott Manley made a video on it. What I'm wondering is: Is this just here for April Fools' Day? Or are they going to keep it? Because I think it would be really cool to just keep it as an Easter Egg, but it's Squad's decision. Also, I didn't get KSP on Steam, so I don't have the 1.1 prerelease. And if it's April Fools' Day only, I'll never be able to try it .
  9. Um... Darnok? You seriously think we don't know that the speed of light is constant? Ever heard of relativity?

You have two variables: time and distance.

If you have three spacecraft which are all measuring the distance and relay time of each other, then you can check their internal timekeeping against each other to determine whether there is variance in electromagnetic behavior.

"You have two variables: time and distance. " - on paper yes, but in reality no. Time is human construct and you are measuring it using imaginary intervals.

"If you have three spacecraft which are all measuring the distance and relay time of each other..." - ok, show me example with some data, maybe then I will be able to explain you what you are doing wrong.

  10. It's OK if you closed that thread of mine, Frybert. I didn't mean any harm, but I completely understand :).

  11. Luke Kerman: There's too many of them! Jeb Solo: If I had a nickel for every time I've had that problem...
  12. I'm betting my copy of KSP (and that's a BIG risk!)
  13. Get the heck out of there! Set course for Kerbin and go at full speed! It's too creepy to stay!
  14. Wait, an unconfirmed planet with ESI of 0.98!! Holy [CENSORED]!
  15. Darnok, pi is not 10. Pi is ~3.1415926... Also, my idea would be to send something along the lines of, "Ignore our TV broadcasts, we are actually intelligent." Ok, not really.
  16. What do you think the best message to send to extraterrestrials (that they could understand) would be?
  17. Um... There's a weird bug. Every time I load KSP, the Minmus colony loads on Kerbin! It's really annoying, anyone know what's going on?
  18. That gas giant is in the habitable zone! Could it have exomoons with life?
  19. The Kerballed Minmus mission screenshots are here!
  20. I will post all the screenshots of the Minmus colony when it's complete.
  21. Imgur account is up ! A screenshot for your enjoyment: http://imgur.com/AsHvDYv
  22. @Cydonian Monk, you are truly a master of Kerbal storytelling. Forgotten Space Program is amazing, and your Ad Lunam series was one of the best I've ever read! Speaking of which, what happens to the copies of the Kerbals (the "samples") in the Egg at the end of Ad Lunam?
