[WIP] [1.4.2] KETO : Kerbal Extreme Texture Overhaul
Galileo replied to Dankgum's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
And please don’t take this out of context. I’m not mad or upset, I’m just disappointed that, yet another visual pack has popped up, only to be using assets from existing packs without permission or credit given. Reusing textures just saturates the community with the same textures everywhere, makes them boring and diminishes the uniqueness of each visual pack.- 58 replies

[WIP] [1.4.2] KETO : Kerbal Extreme Texture Overhaul
Galileo replied to Dankgum's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
I have a few issues with your mod regarding assets. It has been brought to my attention that you are using a handful of textures from my visual mods (I recycle them so they are in multiple mods), and a couple from another visual mod, whose developer alerted me to this mod.. I have licenses in all of my visual mods that do not allow for re-distribution unless permission is given. Seeing as I did not give permission to you, I would like you to remove them please. If these textures were taken from ETO, then that mod is also in violation, as I don't recall giving permission there either. If you need examples, I will gladly provide them. Actually, here they are. Just so I don't have to later. Obviously, these are smaller and I added a black background to them so I could save them as JPG. ...and your sun flare is Astroniki from Thomassino. Which is licensed correctly and you can use it, but you don't attribute him in any way. I also believe that ayou have a texture or two from KSPRC, which I see was just introduced to you a few days ago. It's license is CC-BY-ND, so you can't bundle anything from there. With that being said, I have not looked into every texture you have in this mod, but so far you have taken a handful of mine, and a few from other and haven't even given credit for those. I can only assume you built this mod upon the backs of others work, ignored licenses and so far claimed most the work as your own, minus the stuff from people that you tagged in the OP. I feel like a jerk for doing this, but this has become an issue again, as of late. You can ask almost any other visual pack maker on these forums, and they will tell you that most of us don't have a problem sharing ideas, textures, and techniques with each other, but just taking them and using them as you want is not the way to go about it, and will result in responses like this. If you need assistance, or want to know how i created my textures, let me know. I'm willing to help where and when I can.- 58 replies

[1.12.x] ResearchBodies V1.13.0 (15th May 2022)
Galileo replied to JPLRepo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Whether minmus visible or not is not dictated by OPM, so if there is an issue with minmus, it’s with research bodies or your difficulty settings. -
[KSP 1.5.*] Outer Planets Mod[2.2.1] [25 April 2018]
Galileo replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I just checked and get zero issue with CBK. Your problem lies somewhere else. Like I said, you need to narrow down which mod is causing the problem and take your issue to that dev. Remove mods and add them back a few at a time until the issue appears.- 471 replies

[KSP 1.5.*] Outer Planets Mod[2.2.1] [25 April 2018]
Galileo replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Have you narrowed down the issue to OPM specifically, or are you just assuming? I only provide a cfg. If something has changed with CBK that I don't know about, then there might be an issue, but I dont think there were any changes that could break my cfg. If the issue persists with JUST opm installed, I can take a look, otherwise, I'll have to assume the issue lies elsewhere.- 471 replies

@panzer1b If scatterer oceans lag too much for you, may I suggest a mod I threw together for people that experience that issue?

I wasn’t implying that it worked and my response was never about that, I just get mad when people refuse to do something for themselves, and expect it to be done for them. Especially something as simple as testing a dumb mod. To say “do it for me so I don’t mess up my computer, but you can mess up yours”, is selfish and to call someone a name because they chose not to help was icing on the cake and triggered my response. Btw OPM is ready and I’m prepping a release... just give it a couple hours. I have to get my daughter in bed.

Try the mod. If it worked for you in 1.3.1, what makes you think it will fry your CPU in 1.4.2? It's a plugin for KSP, not a program that will render 8k video. Your CPU is safe. Have you ever heard of another mod in KSP that burns up your CPU? KSP does that all on its own, you don't need a separate mod to do that. Also, this mod includes ZERO textures. You download those separately.

I personally really like the Lampros flare most, but Classico or Fusion are probably the most realistic- 37 replies

[1.8.1-1] [PLEASE FORK ME] Kopernicus & KittopiaTech
Galileo replied to Thomas P.'s topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
No just forces KSP to use stock behavior. This can screw up your game if you are using a planet pack with more than one star. -
[1.8.1-1] [PLEASE FORK ME] Kopernicus & KittopiaTech
Galileo replied to Thomas P.'s topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Kopernicus has to implement its own behavior for solar panels to account for multiple stars. If you are installing kopernicus mid career, there may be some issues as the solar panels you have on your current vessels didn’t have the necessary changes. Try a fresh game and see if the issue persists. Also, there is no reason to JUST have kopernicus installed. It does nothing on its own. -
Thanks for looking into it

@Waz I really dont like the noise in universal time. It looks dumb anywhere noise is added to be frank. It is most noticeable on the aurora, but I even on things like gas giants, it looks just as bad. I have to recommend reverting those changes or give us an option to disable the universal time for noise. Here is the an aurora in SVE that in 1x timewarp, is a very subtle effect, but time warp any faster, and you get this unrealistic, water ripple effect that looks awful.

[KSP 1.6.1] Stock Visual Enhancements [v1.4.1] [20 March 2019]

I cannot reproduce this in my game. I would do a fresh install and try again. Also, be sure to install the latest version on EVE if you haven't. -
[KSP 1.6.1] Stock Visual Enhancements [v1.4.1] [20 March 2019]
Galileo replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Did you only check Kerbin? I got rid of the heavily saturated terminators on Kerbin and Eve because it looks dumb to me. If you want that, you can delete the Kerbin and Eve scatterer folder and let the default scatterer work instead. This will require a fresh install of scatterer if you delete the Kerbin folder.
