totm may 2024 [1.12.x] - Modular Kolonization System (MKS)
gamerscircle replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I updated my MKS and I forgot to backup my folders, I am using blizzys toolbar, is there a way to get the icons for the toolbar back? Someone had me copy some certain *.png files into a folder and the toolbar was able to still work, -

I am back again.. because... I thought I was on the path of understanding, but I am failing horribly. Mining ore - MEU-500 - I understand that you have to use a kerbal to 'configure' it for the mineral/etc that you are going to dig up and I did that with Gypsum just fine. I found a pretty good spot for Metallic Ore, only to find that I cannot directly big up Metallic Ore? Dirt=>Metallic Ore - So, I have to have a dirt storage and it will sift through and pull out the metallic ore? -

Hey as always @DStaal, thank you for the reply , I had some time to play with the new MKS today and I can see that it is flexible and it just takes some 'dinking' and figuring out what will work best. Lots of options and ways of doing it, for the 'entry' level person on MKS is a little over whelming. again thanks and I am going to be able to use this in a few more launches. -
Is there something that I am aware of. I can't seem to figure out how to post an image vs just a link to an image in the forums. Thank you in advance.

totm may 2024 [1.12.x] - Modular Kolonization System (MKS)
gamerscircle replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Hi all - So, I have the basics of the 'warehouse' feature down... I got an ore drill site up and running. [the main purpose if to just drill the ore and distro. it] I also have an ore processing site that's only purpose is to pull the ore and convert it. This is working! [image link below] http://imgur.com/1L9gDqZ After I connected the craft with the inflatable, nothing was working, but after I swapped to another craft and then back, that seemed to do the trick. Since all of my structures are connected, I haven't taken advantage of 'scavenging' yet. Based on the image, the habitation that I am using is kind of a band-aid until I can get supplies setup and that is where my question lies. If I look at this: https://github.com/BobPalmer/MKS/wiki/Resources I need Gypsum and process it into fertilizer I need Hydrates to process it into water Then with fertilizer and water, I will be able to produce supplies? Is that correct or am I looking at it incorrectly? Again, I know this is most likely self explained, I just need to get the basics and then I think, I will be able to get it. Bonus question, can I attach a flextube to a medium stock docking port and be able to benefit from shared resources? edit: Oh, thank you for answering my repetitive questions, over and over. -

@RoverDude & @terwin thanks for the posts, I will attempt to take what you passed along and see what I can do. I tried to do the supplies by just 'plopping' them, and then timewarped to see what would happen and I didn't see the levels change? I think this was about 2 updates ago? -

Happy after the Holidays, I am re-inserting myself into planetary colonization, I got the an Ore Drill site working - Drilling, cooling and pushing to the planetary warehouse. I have a pilot and an engineer posted at the site with supplies for a couple of months. I understand that they might get frigidity without proper habitation, what can I land and connect to maintain and what is the frequency of crew rotation? The Ore Processing [located somewhere else on the planet] was a chore, mainly because I am not that good of a Rocketeer, but I did build fairly decent rig that I assembled in orbit above the Mun and landed. I then landed another logistics structure with an inflatable for ore and when I connected the two structures, the ore was flowing and I was able to start making LFO, etc. When I went to hire a new crew for this mission, the new kerbal classes were presented and I was lucky to have an engineer left in the pool. The MKS documentation I think says that I need a pilot? Is that all that I need for logistics? What do I have to have in place to be able drop supply crafts and not have to plug them in to be utilized? I think, since I now have the means to make fuel, i wanted to get the 'supplies' going... do you have some advice? I ask the obvious question, as there used to be a flowchart to follow, but the link I had no longer show the chart. Thanks for the assist. -
I thought with OKS , there was a way to be able to tap into the warehouse on the planet or something like that?

I get your meaning and thank you for the assistance. Bottom line, no matter what, a station cannot be self sufficient on its own with some kind of infrastructure from OKS/MKS? Sending resupply drones will be fine for now.. thank you again./

Taking the plunge, w/ baby steps. I thought I would finally start to use a Life Support mod and since I have used Mr. Palmer' MKS mods in the past [oh.. lets not forget the Multiple Massive Rover Massacre of 2016] and have had a ton of fun. If I want to just run resupply ships, that would be pretty easy.. Just run supplies? Working Example: If I have a 2 scientist station , with 1 MLP , 1 Hitchhiker along with more than enough Electrical Charge to run this small station. Since I installed the LS, I sent Nom-O-Matic 5000 , 2 x RT 500, Fertilizer Tank 1.25, Life Support Tank 1.25 and 6 x Life Support MiniPak. What did I do wrong and what can I change to maximize this stations resupply ships? Thanks.

[1.12.x] TAC - Life Support v0.18.0 - Release 19th Sep 2021
gamerscircle replied to JPLRepo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I suppose, I should just try USI' LS for myself and see. I really do appreciate all the input, the KSP community is awesome. -
[1.12.x] TAC - Life Support v0.18.0 - Release 19th Sep 2021
gamerscircle replied to JPLRepo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
@JPLRepo The only LS mod I have 'tested' out was the TAC, I liked the simplicity and how it adds some realism to the game. I know that USI has a ton of mods and that there was a LS mod, so that is what I just started it like the above. I think you might have answered my question, that the MKS/OKS has TAC configs that I can use. thanks. -
[1.12.x] TAC - Life Support v0.18.0 - Release 19th Sep 2021
gamerscircle replied to JPLRepo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I have a couple of question which have most likely been well discussed. I have tested and used TAC and it was simple and I had fun with the estimating, plotting and resupplying. Does TAC have the ability to 'grow' or is that more of the USI? Can TAC and USI work together? The reason I was asking, is that I want to setup a base on "Duna" , so initially sending food and supplies ahead and with the crew along with planned resupplies, but I would like to see if the base can become self-sustaining. Thanks and again sorry if this has been discussed in detail already -

[WIP] [1.2.1] [2.0.4] Stock Size Real Solar System
gamerscircle replied to sDaZe's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
I installed as per the provided readme and I got planets where they should be and everything looks great. However; the textures under KSC looks like an explosion? http://imgur.com/ljRVHtz I suppose, I did something wrong? A little help? Also, by chance @Puggonaut, the backdrop that you are using, is that a public file?- 2,401 replies

I wanted to use this mod [again] and I know this is most likely a case of 'it should make sense' , ; however the difference between the folders that are labeled '-Stock' and the one the one that is just "RealPlume"?

COMM NETWORK / Tracking Stations

Yep.. yep, get that. I am curious that if I build a comm sat that equal or greater in strength than the KSC, will outter probes connect to it before KSC? -

I think [and I am sure I am wrong] that it would be easier if I can be shown / instructed on how I can create a mod for my flag? Yep, I know I can just copy the flag into the GameData\Squad\Flags folder, but I think it would be slightly easier to just have a folder for my "mod" for this? Yes or no? Also, if this is already covered in another thread, please point me that way. thank you.

HI all - Modders - Quite simply , Thank you! Due to your skills, dedication and determination, we all can all enjoy KSP the way that we want to. I have said this before, I am not a 'rocket' enthusiast; with many of the mods available for KSP. It is helped me [and others] ease into rockets and planes and... have fun. Community - Hands down, the best! The most supportive, enthusiastic one there is around. It there was any more support, I think there would be a lines for free pancakes or pizza. [crosses fingers] Squad - You folks , well - I used up all the really good adjectives above, so about high fives, chest bumps and a group hug? EDIT: I just realized, that posted this in the incorrect area, so I am sure it will get moved to the correct area.
