Hey everyone. Sorry I'm not as active these days. Hoping to change that sometime.
Anyway, I'm doing the official NaNoWriMo, and I've finished almost 2.1k words on my superhero novel xD Pretty good start I'd say.
Anyway, what's up? -
Hmm
I've finished season 2 of Stranger things today.
It was great xD

Hey guys it's that time once again for a I'm not dead post.
I've finished the loose outline and character bios for my superhero novel that I'll be doing in November.
It's called The Shadowmasters, and as a start, I also finished the 1st chapter, would you guys like to see it? Very early version though, some of it needs to be expanded.
Blurb:
In the early 2020s, a biotech company seeks out 4 people to test their new technology on. Yuuto, a teenaged vigilante, Reese, a gifted athlete, Tyrone, a hard working student, and Nolan, a science major.
The 4 of them are brought to the company, and given unique abilities, with Yuuto leading them. But after a failed mission which ended with civilians getting killed, Yuuto must get the team properly trained after he finds out about a plot that could kill hundreds.
(Will be subject to getting altered in the future)

A little short story I just wrote -- May expand it some in the future
....
Where's the spoiler thingy?
Anyway:
October 11th, 2078
It was a chilly night. Tarique shivered slightly as a small breeze brushed over the bare of his neck. He turned a corner, and walked down the lamp brightened street alongside a massive building complex. He pulled up his keycard, and went inside the sprawling lobby where dozens of scientists worked.
Almost forty years before, when humans were still figuring out crewed interplanetary travel, a team of scientists figured out how to cheat interstellar travel. Unfortunately, they required a portal around the destination first; something they couldn’t do without decades in space. So they sent out radio beacons all over hoping one was lucky enough to stumble on a technological civilization.
Tarique walked by a couple of them, nodding politely, and walked to the elevators that led to the machine. He pressed a button, and dropped down deep underground.
When he got to the bottom, a couple scientists stood up and left after him, leaving him with his coworker, and the machine – It was almost five meters across, and powered by a nearby nuclear fusion plant. The portal was always on, in case someone built its pair. He walked over to his small desk, and began working. Taking notes, doing observations, and glancing at the energy field of the portal every so often.
He mostly read books during his shifts, sometimes, he, and others would feel a jolt of excitement whenever the energy field spiked over the last few months, but alas, the feeling had worn off.
“Anything happen while I was gone?” he asked his coworker, Jackson, who was reading a dog-eared copy of some old sci-fi book.
He shook his head, keeping his eyes on his book, “Nah, there was a brief spike, but it only lasted a second,” he replied.
“Ah, alright,” said Tarique, leaning back into his chair and picking up a book. “How’s your daughter?”
“She’s fine, oh, she really liked the present you gave her last Friday,” he added. “Hasn’t stopped playing with it,” he said, grinning.
“Great, glad she’s feeling better after that surgery,” he said, taking out the bookmark.
“Yep, really sucks she had to be in a wheelchair for her birthday.” He said, slightly awkwardly. The two fell silent and focused on their books.
Almost an hour passed, before the computers beeped. “Oh, just another spike,” Jackson said. Tarique looked up, there were three spikes of energy.
He was about to go back to his book when another spike of energy shot up, but didn’t go back down. He looked over at the portal, it didn’t seem any different. Jackson put his book down, and looked at his screen. A few seconds later, the alarm started blaring, for the first time since the portal was opened.
The portal didn’t look different, but as scientists started clamoring down the elevator, it glowed even brighter than it ever had before. He felt his breath catch, and watched apprehensively, waiting for something to happen.
A moment later, something inside started moving, Tarique couldn’t tell if it was real, or his mind playing tricks, but whichever one it was didn’t matter as a tall figure stepped through the barrier.
His eyes widened, and his heart started beating furiously. He tried talking, but the words wouldn’t come.
The alien was tall, clearing at least a foot above him. It looked around, and stepped forward, its feet were big, and its arms were long. It moved slowly, and was thin, but still looked like it could easily pick someone up.
Tarique and a couple others stepped forward, slightly tripping over themselves in the process. “Hello,” he said in a low, raspy voice. The alien looked at him, and Tarique was about to speak again, in case it didn’t hear him, but the alien opened its mouth instead.
“Hello,” it said, almost clearly, “We received transmissions from you a long time ago. When we finally finished it, we were worried you weren’t around anymore. I was the first to volunteer to come through.” Everyone simply looked at the alien in shock, oblivious to the still blaring alarm.
What do you think?

Hey @ProtoJeb21 @Cabbink have you seen this? Only a few days ago.

Ayyy, I think it's that time once again for a Spaceception isn't dead status
Remember when I said in November I'll be doing a co-op writing session with a friend of mine for both our novels? Well, with that same person, we'll be writing an urban fantasy series, think magic crossed with tech. On our outline doc, we've already finished over 30k words, for just ideas!!!
I also have an idea for a time travel book where a couple guys go back in medieval times and brings humanity up with steampunk.
-
Don't worry, still alive, just been really busy.
Novel ideas are flourishing, but I haven't been able to write anything for awhile
I'll be doing a co-OP writing thing with a friend of mine during NanoWriMo, watch out Marvel/DC, we're coming.
Found out it's more likely I'll be doing GEDs around the end of September, early October, still need quick study tips though (Is it easier to learn harder stuff first, and work your way down? Maybe for science topics?)
I have a lot of revision ideas for Infinitum, and I'm starting to look for agents so I can get published.
So, what's up with you guys? And general GED related help would be greatly appreciated

Something horrible is happening right now, I'm not sure if I'm able to explicitly talk about it, but it makes me angry and sad. This shouldn't be what America is like, and yet, it's been here likely since we gained independence. We're better than this. And it's horrible that people like that still be belive the things they believe.
They're cowards, plain and simple.

Hey! @ProtoJeb21 great news about Tau Ceti! http://gizmodo.com/there-may-be-four-rocky-exoplanets-around-the-nearest-s-1797675002

Infinitum update.
IT'S ALMOST DONE!!!!
-
Hey! I just did a major site update, updated the home page, added a new one, and added a couple of social media links

Hey @Spaceception - not sure if you'd want to, but I might be able to get you a custom site and domain name (i.e., something like spaceception.net). Of course, I can't discuss this here (2.2i), so shoot me a PM if you wanna discuss more.
-
@TotallyNotHuman_ Thanks for asking, but it's fine, I can wait, I might be able to get one later this year when I get a job.

So I figured out how to make the maps into a sphere (In GIMP 2), now I need to know how to rotate the sphere so I can see how it looks on all sides.
Also, I've exported all the planet textures I needed from Space Engine
Slowly but surely making Progress, soon, I'm going to try my hand at making a .cfg file, and seeing it around Kerbol, to test ut, then once I figure out how to make a star, I'll but it around that and see how it looks.
How long will it take? I have no idea, it literally took me hours, with help from @ModerndayLink64 to figure out how to export planets.

Good news and bad news.
The good news is, I'm working on chapter 3 of the time sleeper.
The bad news is, that I won't be able to share any more with you guys.
Read the OP

@ProtoJeb21 @Cabbink @_Augustus_ Time to put on my skeptical hat, because there wasn't much about it.
-
I assume the rainbow is for pride month? Sorry if I'm wrong, otherwise, that's awesome
-
GUYS!
Imagine dragons Evolve album is out, And it's great!
-
I made/Launched my 1st SSTO!!
Oh wow Spaceception, I did that years ago. NOOOOOB!!
I'm on mobile because the WiFi went out, but I'll have some pics soon

I have the star's properties finished for my mod! You guy's are welcome to check my math All units were made to represent a portion of the sun (In this case 0.67x the mass of the sun, as opposed to the same in kg) to make life easier.
In the case of Luminosity and Radius, the numbers were rounded.
Star Mass of star: 1.326e+30 kg = 0.67, Radius, 1043550000 meters = 0.743, Surface temperature, 4622.4 K = 0.816, Luminosity, 0.30, Hab zone inner, 0.52 AU, Hab zome outer, 0.75 AU
Now I just need to shrink everything down to stock size
How would the HZ be affected?
-
I just built a friggin VTOL aircraft using mk2 expansion in my personal science save, I launched and landed vertically without destroying anything, and broke the sound barrier (at least, I think I did, I was focused on keeping it stable, but there were atmosphere effects going on), there's still some links to fix, but it works pretty well.

@Atlas2342 I have a few ideas being tossed around, but I'm still not the best at planes and I suuuuuuuuuuuck at SSTOs, hopefully the mods I have will help.

I DID IT!! I FREAKING DID IT, AFTER OVER A YEAR SINCE I LAST DOCKED IN KSP I DID IT!!
This is in science mode too! Only teir 4 tech, and the Nuclear mode has been unlocked.
I was launching a Duna transfer vehicle/Ike Lander (Jeb is a stowaway), and I'm about to make the transfer to Duna.
I have around 2 hours of game footage so far, and I haven't even begun the transfer to Duna yet
Ike, here I come!
Also, does anyone have any free programs for editing youtube videos, that even idiots like me can use?

@Spaceception: I tried using OBS on my Linux laptop. Dunno if it's available for Windows, but my guess is that it is. It's free, too.
-
I found out that the final chunk of my data didn't record (Duna transfer, Ike landing, Kerbin return, excrementsload of science gained) so I won't be able to release that video.
I do have a buttload of parts, so I'll show something else.
@TotallyNotHuman_ it's for Windows, thanks I'll take a closer look, and see if it'll work for me.

Update on infinitum!!
I'm over 74k words in, working on Chapter 20 of 22 (Or 23).
I might be writing a new 2nd chapter focusing on Nadan's PIC on the day leading up to the infinitums arrival.
And in writing news, some progress is being made on The Time Sleeper, I've outlined, I believe 7 chapters, and next month, the 1st draft of Infinitum should be finished, so while I'm not editing that for publication, I'll be working on a new book And as always, I'll send some chapters your way in the lounge once I have something to show.

Hey, so, future summer project, I'm thinking about starting a small blog on my website, nothing much, 1-2 posts a month, and I was wondering what topics I should cover in relation to advanced technology, and (Mainly) space travel.
For one thing, I'd like to talk about why Nuclear energy isn't that bad, and another post about an old project about future spaceflight, think Orion or Daedalus, and what it would've looked like if we went ahead with it, and what changes would've needed to be made to said projects for it to work.

Just did a major website revamp, what do you guys think? https://spaceception.wixsite.com/spaceceptionwriter
