Good work, mate, I also wanted to know who the artist was on the 'Thud' video was. I like METAL.

I'm surprised no astronauts have been hit on EVA, especially after seeing that graphic - I believe they can only track about 1/3 of the actual space junk up there.

Is an Iron-Man suit physically possible?
James Kerman replied to WestAir's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I think that a small quantity of "essence of Chuck Norris" will have more than enough power for both the suit and the weapons. -
The Thud - an underrated launcher engine?
James Kerman replied to moogoob's topic in KSP1 Discussion
They are useful in bamboo/train staging . The core stack fuel tanks essentially become drop tanks. -
10/10 I both love and fear dres and I'm part of the kraken awareness society. I will create a virus that infects all television networks and streaming services with the "Beiber" virus. That's right, non stop Beiber forever.

What is wrong with my plane?
James Kerman replied to randomredneck's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I agree with the posts above. In the VAB you have 3 tabs in the bottom left. One is the center of lift, one is the center of thrust and the other is the center of mass. When designing aircraft you want to have the center of lift slightly behind your center of mass. I would try moving the wings to the engine clusters and removing the last fuel tank. I would also exchange the control surfaces on the wings for ailerons and add canards instead of a traditional tailplane - this should give you much more control authority. In the VAB you can also specify what each control surface does. I usually set ailerons and canards to pitch and roll and tail to yaw only. This makes the plane control much easier if you are using a keyboard. Another thing most aircraft have is a slight angle of incidence in the wings. -
There is the solution to your problem. I am working on an EVE return mission at the moment and it's the most challenging thing I've done in KSP.

The Total War series is pretty good.

What are things that even google can't find

If you type google into google, the internet breaks... (from the It crowd) -
Hilarious scam email: Nigerian astronaut stranded in space
James Kerman replied to RainDreamer's topic in The Lounge
They are going about it the wrong way, I would pay money to strand Justin Beiber in orbit.- 53 replies

Where will we build the first Space Elevator?
James Kerman replied to Spaceception's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I believe the first space elevator will be built on Earth by Obayashi, although not by 2050 as they claim. They have actively been doing tests. -
You need to upgrade mission control as well as the tracking station to access nodes.

I used it when I first started playing KSP however I don't use it anymore because though I feel it isn't OP, for me it limits my reach in the Kerbol system - When I used the Lab I kept waiting to go interplanetary but felt the need to unlock ever more nodes (for tech that makes it easier) and really, doing missions with less than optimal parts makes me a better player. Also career is boring for me once the tech tree is finished, It's really just sandbox at that point.

The article I read stated they had performed over 100 test shots at very low power (1KW).

Test Engine Contract Question
James Kerman replied to SteveD80's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Yes. You can 'run test' on engines after they have fired. -
If you are going interplanetary you should probably install an information mod (Kerbal engineer redux or mechjeb) that gives you the Delta V and thrust to weight ratio of your craft so you can make sure you can get there and take off again in Duna's atmosphere. I would send a probe first to scan for ore and add a mining rig to the lander so you can refuel and land on Ike too.

I've been reading this thread with great interest (and limited understanding) and I was wondering what your thoughts were on Lockheed Martins' T4?

Why do my controls switch in flight
James Kerman replied to Best_JAxeel's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I agree with the above, I just wanted to say that's a beautiful design. -
have your station near the sun ??
James Kerman replied to kool-jeb's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
There is a challenge on to fly as close to Kerbol as possible. You may wish to do it if you are going there anyway. tseitsei89 has reached kerbol Pe of ~69.96Mm and has posted images of the craft if you want design inspiration. -
I'm working on my first crewed Eve return mission. It's the only body I haven't landed kerbals on and I feel the need to conquer the purple beast.

My dream is to work on NASA will KSP help me?
James Kerman replied to Daniel Nobre's topic in KSP1 Discussion
If you can get paid to do something you love then re-numeration is not the highest priority. KSP opened my mind to space travel in a simplistic way however it inspires me to learn about way more than orbital mechanics and simplified rocket design. Also the forums are a great place to learn more about the concept and the industry of space flight. -
I think they are evolved tardigrades.

1.0.5 here. Waiting for mods to update.

Well I finally made it to duna without any mods or help
James Kerman replied to maybach123's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Good work, mate. It took me a long time before I got to Duna and it really opened up the rest of the Kerbol system. Great pic too. -
I am going to attempt this with 1.05. It may take me a few days to work it out.
