  1. Hi @Pikoro, yes, in the settings screen and in game settings window there is a slider for aero FX, turn it down to reduce the effect, at the lowest setting it disables them.
  2. Spaces? As a non Apple user I'm not familiar with this, but this will be useful info for others
  3. Hi tech2000, it's whatever your screen resolution is, such as 1024x768
  4. Unfortunately this is not something I can easily test as there is no installer for Linux on the store. Plus I'm getting "server migration" messages, which might be of interest to @KasperVld
  5. Hello, you need the "previous stable version" in the betas tab in Steam.
  6. Hi @John The Physicist, have you tried re-downloading it? If a new copy does not work consider downloading the complete game zip from your store account.
  7. Hi @tech2000, this isn't possible via KSP's settings, but you can force the Unity engine to do this, see here for the command line arguments. I don't know exactly what you'll need without testing on an identical setup, but you should need these. -adapter<your screen> -force-glcore -screen-fullscreen -screen-width<your screen width> -screen-height<your screen height> Ignore the 'Windows only' stuff, these do work cross platform.
  8. Yeah that's not a Kraken, it's a real issue though and mass plays a part, struts will prevent it however (we so need placeable struts and fuel lines...)
  9. Sneaky clouds suggestion merged with the clouds thread
  10. Hi @devonrevenge, make sure KSP is unzipped to a folder you have write permissions for, not /OPT Also ensure you start KSP from that folder, so cd to it first, a desktop shortcut will fail if it doesn't set the working directory. If these don't help then upload your Player.log, but bare in mind that the Unity3D engine that KSP is made with only officially supports Ubuntu, so by extension so does Squad, but usually it can be made to work.
  11. Well, seeing as the Kraken refers to one specific issue that was solved a long time ago, without knowing what you're talking about I'll hazard a guess of "maybe".
  12. Hi @tigershark, Unless you have KSP on Steam then unfortunately not, but if you bought KSP before it was available on Steam you will have the option to transfer to Steam on your store account. It's one way, so make sure it's what you want to do before going ahead.
  13. Well @Ogre1983, your issue is different to @carbohydrates, I see you're using an AMD card, try starting KSP from the terminal with this command line argument, (cd to your KSP folder first). ./KSP.x86_64 -force-gfx-direct This will force the Unity engine to use single threaded rendering.
  14. This is actually a bug in Unity, they compiled FMOD with the wrong flags or something and I hear it's fixed in later versions of Unity. See here for a workaround. Basically you either need to have Pulseaudio running correctly, have it completely removed from your system or use pulsenomore to fool Unity into working.
  15. In addition to this, try running fewer other programs when running KSP, other programs will use memory leaving less for KSP to use, and as you mentioned this is worse with mods as they add to the memory required by KSP. Adding more memory can help a little depending on the situation, but a 32bit application cannot use more than about 3.5gigs of RAM, but having more RAM available will allow other programs to reside in other areas of memory. This can be limited however by your operating system, with many 32bit versions of Windows being artificially limited in the amount of memory they will support, see this page for details. 64bit operating systems can support much more memory and 64bit programs such as KSP 1.1+ can access more than 3.5gigs of RAM if it is available.
  16. Hello everyone. This month's TOTM is dedicated to Felipe Falanghe, a.k.a. 'HarvesteR', here I show you some of the posts and threads from the man who made all this possible. While not Felipe's first post I think it's best to let him introduce himself Here's where it all started with our community... And a little background on how Squad got started. Felipe tells us about his love for Orbiter, and how the Orbiter community helped to get KSP off the ground. And hints about his plans for the future. And finally, we see the man behind the magic. Cheers for everything HarvesteR, and good luck in everything you do. Link to TOTM May.
  17. @Secret Hamster @Ulrick_Zebulon, this should be what you need. Unity3D command line arguments. Unity games can be forced to start at a specified resolution, and on a specific screen when fullscreen, even on Linux. Unity currently is having difficulty correctly detecting OpenGL and setting the appropriate screen size on Linux and this happens in other Unity games as well. If that doesn't help, try this.
  18. Hi @Elfman, have you tried setting a US English keyboard layout? If that is successful you could start KSP via a script that sets the keyboard environment variable to US English for you.
  19. Okay PM me after you see this as it changes your login, and I need to be sure you know that first. Okay, Supergamervictor it will be.
  20. Okay one sec. Erm, you mean @cpone? @victor tan, PM me when you're online before I change the name.
  21. This is a bit beyond me to tell the truth, I can see it happening but to know any more I would have to ask @taniwha
  22. Hi @icekatze, can you please provide the save file that shows this, you can upload files to dropbox, thank you
  23. Good idea @cantab ! Though that part is for stuff implemented as mods, so I've removed them from the list.
