What are you basic movement keybinds?
Serenity replied to Neil Kermstrong's topic in KSP1 Discussion
You guys break my mind of how over complicated your controls are, except the Rover thing which indeed needs tweaking(driving and SAS dont go well if they have same controls), i dont see the point of seperating the controls in keyboard and mouse or two different areas of keyboard, there is no way 99% of the times you gonna need to use all the controls at few seconds to do something. Anyways its always good to see different approaches but this one does strike me odd lol. -
What are you basic movement keybinds?
Serenity replied to Neil Kermstrong's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Because usually docking is achieved just fine in Docking Mode and rotational mode by using only WASDQE(and shift+ctrl) and toggling rotation with space button, its more ''casual''. How many times in docking or most maneuvers you need to use all of the controls at the exact same time? So you have to move your hand across the keyboard all the time and that...that is easier? What do you mean you are not familiar with the default keys? Is it really not common to use docking mode? I always though it was the easiest thing to do...lol -

Did you know you can switch to docking mode and use your Pitch, yaw etc WASD keys to control RCS only? It has also a rotational mode that you toggle with space. That way you can use less keys by only switching the mode btw docking and normal. Ofcourse if you want to use all at the same time you can use the seperate RCS controls. -
[KSP 1.12.x] Parking Brake (0.4.4) - 2021-07-23
Serenity replied to maja's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Thank you for this, works perfectly as far i can tell and solves my problem with scanning arm being unable to work because vessel was moving. -
I know but lately there is a huge improvement and i have rarely seen any vessels/crafts sliding, not to mention if you use structural panels and or grippads. Its been so much better in the latest versions. Thats why i was surprised to see Kerbals still follow the old sliding habits, but hey, my bases/crafts/planes etc rarely slide, maybe not even at all so i am ok, just weird to see the Kerbal thing.

[1.12.x] WASD Editor Camera Continued - New Dependencies
Serenity replied to linuxgurugamer's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Hello!, great mod as always! Is this working with 1.10.1? -
Well its been a while i watched, but you know the top Kerbal Streamers were very critical about canards, them and most of their viewers were very very against them. They had valid reasons, that canards are the easy way out and stop you from solving the real problems, which makes sense but...at that point they got so much hate i was feeling weird to ever use them.
-
I always wondered why the community is so passionate against using canards. I rarely use them but as a new player i really liked them, they helped me very much in early builds and sometimes i still fill the itch to use them here and there. I just wish i could use them more without feeling this whole thing of my plane is wrong thats why i use canards

I like adding extra quarters/crew modules to ''fake'' their sleeping quarters or add empty fuel tanks or payloads etc to simulate their food storage, stations get big enough pretty fast :p but...to be honest my only crewed station is in Kerbin so far....Duna hopefully soon...
-
I think you covered all the modules but ofcourse make sure you have some sort of communications to transmit the science, and uh i think you covered all the essential parts, after that i think its if you want to add some decoration parts with no real use, like some radiators or like a ''storage'' module etc.
-
Clipping for me is a creative way to ''create'' parts from other parts, custom build in more creative ways. BUT, when it comes to perfomance clipping i am strongly against, if i clip two fuel tanks i make sure i ''punish'' that by reducing the fuel they can hold or just remove it entirely, i am not even touching the clipping engines etc, thats a total no go for me.

Just an tip, you can also build a ''normal'' plane and use Physical Warp to travel faster without going sub-orbital.Alt+. is the button, test to see how fast each craft can go, you can also use this for long burns in orbit. If you want to stay stock and your plane keeps turning a bit to the right or the nose is going down you can use Trim. To use Trim you disable SAS and you hold Alt+W/S/A/D to adjust it. You can also use Precision controls, i think Caps Lock is the default key, not sure. If you dont mind a bit of mods, here is a nice mod for flying smoother+autopilot that works really well even with physical warp

Kerbal disapering?
Serenity replied to Karlosgamecz's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I think the easiest thing is to Alt+f12 Cheat Menu rendervouz with the station and just EvA transfer them if you dont want to dock. or just Alt+F12 cheat orbit the whole station with the kerbals inside....if you dont/cant EvA yet. There are lots of youtube videos on this, most of them are long but worth to learn how. Do you know Mechjeb? It has Rendervouz autopilot and some sort of auto docking, it might help you at least to get close to the station and give you some guides of how to approach and how to dock etc. -
Ok, i think i fixed it, I selected from Steam->Kerbal->Right Click->Manage->Controller Configuration then Browse Configs at the bottom of the Menu->Templates->Gamepad->Apply Configuration After that you can open Kerbal and bind whatever you want from the ingame Input Settings and not have to deal with Steam configuration weirdness. First unwanted behavior, the D-Pad you must change it to Button Pad(from steam) and assign some keyboard inputs to work. Second thing, i had to increase from ingame menu the Dead Zone to some Axis 0.20, maybe even more or less, dunno didnt do enough testing.

Problem with a maneuver node
Serenity replied to KrisKelvin's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
The purple is the future orbit you gonna have after you insert to Kerbin and leave Mun's influence, is that what you mean? -
Hello, today i decided to fix my controller with Kerbal....but its not easy as i remembered. Do you know how, or any guide to help a bit. For example i want my triggers to incrementally increase/decrease thrust, few months ago i for sure remember fixing all of these ingame, but now everytime i try ingame when i change inputs it doesnt recognize the buttons i click and one weird thing, while i am trying to select input i see behind the controller, controlling the menus in Kerbal. I tried messing around with right clicking on Kerbal on steam and Manager->Controller settings but it feels so clunky. Any help would be appreciated, this is the second time i fail on this quest
