You know, it's really easy to avoid getting attacked by a shark. I'd say it's even easier than avoiding getting hit by a train.

KSP Self-Deleted?
Geonovast replied to Mr. Peabody's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Unless your KSP computer is running a fresh OS install and has never seen the internet or a file from the internet (impossible, since that's where KSP comes from), you can't say that for sure. There isn't an infallible antivirus on the planet. It does seem unlikely that you would have a virus with a mission to destroy KSP, however. I would be a little concerned about the health of the HD. Back up everything first, and do a heath check on your HD. There's no shortage of utilities out there to check your SMART data. If you're on Windows, I would also check the fragmentation. -
I read the ones for the languages I understand, and the Javascript one made me legitimately chuckle.

Secondary keys
Geonovast replied to InterplanetJanet's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Just lets you set a second key to do the exact same thing. I haven't used it much, but I have my Map View secondary key set to my 'Forward' mouse button. Pressing the 'Forward' mouse button or 'M' will toggle map view. Did the same for the 'Back' mouse button with screenshots. Pressing the 'Back' mouse button or 'F1' will do a screenshot. It's also handy to set up mapping on a joystick, and you can switch back and forth from the joystick and keyboard without remapping every time. Also thought I'd mention that I'd set my 'Forward' mouse button to cycle symmetry count int the SPH/VAB. Makes editing a bit smoother since I don't have to take my fingers off of WASD when placing parts. -
Honestly never heard of it before now. But I generally ignore holidays, except Pi day.

Did the post and rep count not have commas before, or am I imagining things?

You mean defaulting to the first page? Still does it for me.
-
I did, and it was definitely down for awhile. I'm sure it was all backend stuff. I didn't expect to see any changes.
-
Well... if you use them.

I would have just been happy with any kind of error. Instead I got a webpage creating an infinite amount of table rows. I do like that though. I may have to start doing that.

To be fair, you'd think by now you'd be able to plug in a mouse to an Xbox One or PS4 and use them in game. I should really plug in a mouse to my Xbox One and see if I get a cursor at all..

I had a basic C programming class a few years ago, and the IDE the class used was very unforgiving. A forgotten semicolon at the beginning of a page could cause the IDE to give a "99+ errors. Please improve your skills" message. Pretty condescending for a single missing character, I thought.

You can right click on a console?

totm march 2020 So what song is stuck in your head today?
Geonovast replied to SmileyTRex's topic in The Lounge
I've noticed! You're the reason my location changed. I'm probably gonna give Discovery a few seasons before I start it. I didn't care much for Enterprise, I didn't even see the last 2 seasons until just about 2 years ago. I've never liked rap, mostly because it's usually associated with those lower frequency... attacks we've discussed before. I don't think I could like the Black Eyed Peas less. I'm really surprised I hadn't listened to them sooner. My absolute favorite group is Tegan & Sara, and they mention Chvrches frequently on their Facebook page. Just never got around to listening. -

Geonovast replied to SmileyTRex's topic in The Lounge
My brother just turned me to Chvrches, so I'm listening to everything they have on Spotify. So far, really liking them. I was kinda on the hunt for another band with a strong female lead with this kind of sound. -
Really? I didn't take you for a stock player. Huh. I don't use MKS, but I've heard it's a bit intense. I'm sure plenty of people would welcome a version that's a little more laid back if it's balance well. Welcome to the forums!

Rejoice, for through KIS/KAS, all things are possible.

Between a thread that went off the rails a little while ago, and what I just did, for a second time, made me think we should have a thread where we share horrific coding blunders. Terrible things caused by even the omittence of a single character. For example, I'm working on a project for work, to integrate all of our antiquated service order, purchase orders, sales order, whatevers into one system designed specifically for us. I was tweaking a PHP script that automatically generates a certain number of input lines, just a basic for loop. for ($T = 1; $T <= 12; $T++) { // Make HTML line } But I needed to add a checker to do something special on just the first line, so I went put in... for ($T = 1; $T <= 12; $T++) { if ($T == 1) { // Do special thing } // Make HTML line } Which is fine. However, what I actually put in locked up Firefox, seized my entire computer, couldn't so much as Ctrl-Alt-Del, and I'm confident it could bring down an army. for ($T = 1; $T <= 12; $T++) { if ($T = 1) { // Do special thing } // Make HTML line } It's amazing what using '=' instead of '==' can do. I've now done this twice. Whatcha got?

If you're playing career, maybe? I only play sandbox, so I don't even need the KER modules for the readouts. You may simply need to enable the orbital readout display box and edit it to have the modules you want.
