  1. So, Switzerland? https://www.google.com/maps/place/47°00'00.0"N+8°00'00.0"E/@47.0000036,7.9978113,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d47!4d8
  2. Banned for making terrible, terrible puns.
  3. Forum seems to be messing with our heads. They're seeing some weirdness on their end, they're working on it. Something must have gotten borked during the webhost migration.
  4. How many seconds per frame are you getting with that bad boy?
  5. I always knew you were bit of a windbag. J/K of course.
  6. "ReferenceError: ips is not defined" is not there when things are kosher. Not sure how much this helps, but I was just locked out for a good hour in FF and Chrome.
  7. False! TUBM is allergic to something common.
  8. I had to take a Hunter Education Course (I don't remember its actual name) when I was younger. 14? 15? I don't remember what age, but I was definitely under 18. I had no interest in hunting, but I really really liked shooting a bow. We lived in town, with close neighbors. In order to shoot in my back yard, I had to get my neighbors to sign something saying they were ok with it, and take the course. I think it should be mandatory for everyone, hunter or not. Regardless of how well you try to avoid it, it's very possible you may end up around guns at some point in your life. And you need to know how to treat them.
  9. I'm legitimately crying inside. If my daughter wants a "conventional" wedding, she's paying for it herself. She's only 8, but I can tell you right now, she's not going to want a "conventional" wedding. Honestly I'm even cringing at $12,000. That's a downpayment on a small house or a really nice used car.
  10. Because every convention of typical weddings is a ploy to cost as much money as possible, and make as little sense as possible. My wedding cost $500. My wife's $40 wedding dress doubles as a regular dress that you can wear more than once. I know, shocking. Our invitations were printed out on a Wal-Mart special inkjet printer and had an LCARS theme. We had no cake. There was pie. I hate weddings.
  11. There's no reason to expect a mod to work after an update without the mod maker specifically saying it will. If you're playing 1.4, you should probably play stock until the mods have had a chance to update - if they will be updating. I've seen it mentioned that a lot of mods will still work, but given how much EVE does, I'm not surprised at all that it's broken in 1.4. Follow the EVE Add-on release thread itself, and watch for the updates. Mod makers can't do anything until after the update is released.
  12. I just liked a post, then the forum instantly removed it, and popped up the black notification box saying "Your reaction has been removed" I tried to get a SS by clicking like again, but it went through the second time..
  13. Has anyone every purchased a System76 laptop? I'd really like to get a new laptop, and so far I'm liking what I see about them. Looking specifically at this Gazelle. I know it's a bit pricey, but I'm not too fond of the build quality of the large mass-production companies lately.
  14. Oh no, I think you misunderstood. I was referring to getting the ability to post a reply back by hard refreshing.
  15. So the issue with not being able to reply seems to be just a symptom. When the forum is in that "lockdown" state, I've also noticed that the "Share Post" button is misbehaving. Instead of giving you a link directly to the post, it refreshes the page as if you'd clicked on the link it's supposed to give you. No amount of cache clearing and refreshing brought me out this time. Had to restart Firefox. And it's not like I had the forums sitting open all night, I had just launched FF this morning and the forums were instantly in this mode. I absolutely hate Chrome/Chromium, so I hope this bug can be identified and fixed. If the staff here needs any debug information from when it happens again, I'll be more than happy to provide it.
  16. I wonder how long it will be before GoG has it. I asked them and got a verbose "No Comment"
  17. So I couldn't help but notice that since the migration, the forums are a lot slower and significantly buggier. I had to hard refresh a few times just to get the ability to post this back.
  18. I love how it linked to some pages on the forum as part of the Terms, which you couldn't view until after you accepted it.
  19. Terrible (TBD) SSTO, but helluva view.
  20. Ahhh. Did not realize that was the case. I'm curious how it does on re-entry. Those basic fins hate heat. I'll be amazed if you still have them when you come back down.
  21. I don't know of any self-leveling mods, but I think this will help with the tipping when coming out of timewarp:
  22. Made it to a 89,912 / 70,141 m orbit with: 4 Oscars 3 Basic Fins 1 battery 1 solar panel 1 okto 2 1 small nose cone 1 spark 1 steerable nose wheel as landing gear! 1,095 kg on the pad. 637 m/s still in the tanks. Edit: Went a bit more reductionist. Made it to a 89km / 76km orbit with: 3 Oscars 3 Basic Fins 1 battery 2 solar panel 1 okto 2 1 small inline reaction wheel 1 small nose cone 1 spark 1 steerable nose wheel as landing gear! 895 kg on the pad. 147 m/s in the tanks. Adding the reaction wheel lets you ditch the fins. That landing gear is killing you.
  23. I'm also like 99.99% sure that engine doesn't have an alternator, so that's biting you too. It does gimble though, so you may be able to toss the reaction wheel.
  24. I just watched the Bojack Horseman episodes about the Oscars. Does that count?
  25. I used to use the LF/O RCS thrusters on rockets back when I had zero clue what I was doing, and it was pretty necessary to keep my rockets from flipping. This was also back in the day when every craft I built had overkill RCS abilities. I don't recall the last time I even thought about using them now. Now, most of my stuff doesn't have RCS unless it's meant to dock with something else. Even then it's generally pretty limited. Only my shuttles carry quite a bit, but that's because they're heavy, and it takes a bit of oompf to move them around gently.
