@crody The symmetry stuff is still somewhat of a mystery to me. It seems to work for some parts, but not on others, especially with the mirror symmetry. I would recommend building one side, then duplicating it and flipping it. If someone who knows more about the symmetry settings than me can fill me in, I'll definitely make adjustments for the next version.

Don't a lot of contracts have advances? Couldn't you grind some easy ones where the advance will pay for the rocket?

That's a huge hurdle! Congrats! About the only thing harder in this game than docking is learning how to dock with that lovely in-game tutorial.

If you have an install where Steam actually installs the game, and you have updates turned on, then yes. If you move the installation, which is literally cutting and pasting the whole folder, Steam won't know about it and can't touch it. You can also shut off automatic updates if you want Steam to continue to manage the game. AFAIK, the only reason to do this is for the play hour counter.

Are you talking on Steam? Just move the installation folder elsewhere, then download a different version. You can have as many installs as you want, as many different versions as you want. There's no DRM, and you don't need to launch Steam to launch the game.

Yesterday I sneezed so hard, and in such a way, that it felt like someone punched me really hard in the throat. It hurts to swallow, my voice sounded fine last night, but was a little weird this morning. Talking doesn't hurt, oddly enough. I just sneezed again. Ow.

You need to enable Advances Tweakables. It's in your difficulty settings. Higher numbers drain first.

Which is where SmartParts is really handy. I always let a SmartPart module stage outer tanks. I do really, really wish that you could set crossfeed on decouplers to only go one way.

Bought the stuff for delidding my 7700K, and an AIO. I'll start printing the tool tomorrow. This is either gonna be a fun adventure, or I'll be crying in the corner after I kill a $330 chip. Either way it won't be running hot anymore.

You're not looking at a Linux issue, which I was 99.99% sure of anyway, but I did play around with the ship. I got it up to a ~ 106km x 106km orbit just fine. Yellow clock the whole way, but the only real issue was a good number of explosions when staging the first time. Without even getting into the design issues, I have a feeling that your problems are that your computer simply doesn't like doing physics on a 527 piece, 2,500 ton ship. You listed your OS, driver, and kernel specs, but you didn't tell us what's actually important - CPU, GPU, Memory, and Desktop/Laptop. This was done on my backup computer since my main one is under the knife right now: Linux Mint 18.3/MATE 4.15.0-43 kernel Nvidia 384.130 i5-7500 @ 3.8 ghz. 32 GB DDR4-2400 4GB GTX 1050Ti GOG version of the game (1.6.1 MH)

AFAIK SmartParts is still going to require a probe core on the dropped stage/missile.

I like it. I use it. I want it to stay.
