  1. NSF replay of aborted hop attempt. You can see that the abort occurred less than a second before the engine was meant to ignite. Let's hope they can fix the issue and try to fly again today.
  2. LabPadre stream says the hop will happen at 2300 UTC, supposedly. That's midnight for me. I'll probably just go to bed and see if it's happened in the morning. Good luck SN5!
  3. Landing propulsively allows for a lot more precision than landing with parachutes. Maybe if they had stuck to the plan of using the SuperDracos for landing, they would have been able to land Dragon on a target as small as a boat. But they're not doing that.
  4. That's 22:00 for anyone else in the UK, 21:00 UTC. That would require serious precision. Dragon can steer to a limited extent during re-entry, but not enough to hit a landing target a few metres across.
  5. Banned because Dres isn't interesting enough for someone to be a DresManiac.
  6. I can't remember where I actually read it, but the way the whole thing is set up makes me think the fins are mounted to be a lawn ornament. You can see from timestamp 5:42 in this video that the frame is installed directly in front of a building - perhaps as an ornament for the entrance of a restaurant - and they've planted shrubs all around it. This doesn't seem like the fins are being stored in a temporary location, and the way they've been arranged (ie, with aesthetics in mind) makes me think that this probably isn't a test stand either. So it's probably nothing more than a fancy restaurant entrance, or maybe just a location for Elon's next presentation.
  7. @sevenperforce That frame is apparently for an outdoor eating area, not for flight.
  8. Mystery Goo analysis splashed down at Earth: The Goo doesn't seem to be doing much right now.
  9. They're through blackout! We've got (albeit low res) video!
  10. Seems like comms blackout has started. Good luck guys...
  11. Deorbit burn nominal! Nose cone is closing Also, this is the first time US astronauts will have splashed down since 1975.
  12. While we're distracted by the return of the Dragon Riders, the road is closed in Boca Chica. We may see some kind of testing - perhaps a hop! Edit: just as I post this, it seems that the road has reopened. Maybe we won't see anything today.
  13. Just heard that someone is going to be climbing on top of the capsule post-splashdown. Pretty Kerbal if you ask me...
  14. Dang, missed undocking. But re-entry will be the exciting part. Good luck Bob and Doug Edit: Here's NSF's latest Boca Chica video. One question I do have...does SN5 have thrusters at the top as well as the bottom? So far we've only seen thrusters at the bottom be tested, but wouldn't thrusters up top be beneficial, especially for the balancing act SN5 will have to perform during the 150m hop?
  15. Can't wait to see something (intentionally) fly from Boca. It's almost been a year...
