  1. The announce trailer was a contracted CGI film, it's not from the game engine.
  2. Landing a dozen ships in the same spot without mechjeb might not be so fun. I will become more familiar with the quicksave and load buttons.
  3. T2 has an earnings call/quarterly report coming up on the 7th of Feb. There's a chance we might get some official info from that.
  4. The graphics are great and I'm sure it'll be like every other PC game where you get to tinker with setting to get your optimal mix of fps, resolution, and detail. That's part of the fun. Anyway, they'll probably bump these posts to a specs thread if we don't stop talking about specs.
  5. Point being it shouldn't require a 3090 to run well. Integrated graphics... maybe not. They're probably targeting a bit lower than whatever is the most common stuff on the steam hardware survey.
  6. Has to run functionally on PS4 which has 8gb total system memory (unless they're canning the PS4 release for PS5). I'm more worried the other way... that they'll lower the graphics spec to work on potato hardware at the cost of looks. Hopefully sliders and options will be able to suit everyone.
  7. I just looked at take two's jobs postings for seattle (Kerbal office), and it looks like they're hiring for pretty much everything. Artists, designers, engineers, QA testers, producers, etc. I hope everything's ok over there and they didn't all jump ship...
  8. This topic has been posted probably a dozen times. The Kerbol system is the starting system, and is already a kerbalized version of the Sol system. Modders will probably do the RSS/RO for KSP2 (eventually) you most likely seek.
  9. They're not done milking skyrim yet... At least 2 more extra special bonus collector editions first.
  10. I think much of this is a function of age. I'd bet my bottom dollar that most of it is kids/teenagers that aren't necessarily accustomed to long waits or putting things in perspective. While it's fun to speculate, we'll get the game when we get it. It's simply not done yet. This isn't a shake-n-bake shooter. There are lots of very real and very heavy issues with physics, math, and multiplayer no doubt to be sorted out. The lack of updates is unfortunate, but we'll get a finished product at some point.

  12. At this point, I'm not sure if playing KSP is my hobby, or browsing KSP2 forum posts waiting for KSP2 to release is my hobby? I haven't really played KSP1 since the announce trailer.
  13. I hope not. I'd rather they put the effort into a system with unexpected planets with real challenge. Kerbol system is basically already the Sol system (kerbalized), minus the outer planets.
  14. Sounds like longtime players would have a tribble infestation to deal with pretty quick at the mun colony...
  15. Gross. It would be awful to find out they delayed KSP2 because of some mobile rubbish.
  16. Command pods and crewable parts will be a lot more work with interiors. Might add a lot of time for the parts packs to get updated to KSP2.
  17. Could it have automatically rolled over on 01 January since it's technically the same year as release now? It's possible that nobody touched it.
  18. Check internet archive to be sure? Either way, I'll wait for a firm release date before getting too excited again.
  19. My guess: Release date will be announced at PAX in April. They're probably aiming for release shortly threafter, but it could be winter if it can't be made presentable by then. T2 will want a release this year almost certainly for money reasons.
  20. This would enable fishing for the kraken on puf using Kerbal bait... I hear it inhabits the depths of the oceans there...

There was an article in some small-town newspaper someone posted here (about a nasa-man from that area) that mentioned early 2022 as release, so they're probably trying to get it in a releasable state before PAX in (early April, I think?). I'd expect much/most of the PR stuff to be focused on that atm and not on appeasing the very few (and almost-certain buyers) constantly commenting on this forum. I expect it to be more quiet between now and just before PAX.
  22. I'm pretty sure we'll be getting lots of info and possibly a release date at PAX in a few months. I wouldn't expect too much between now and then. They're probably racing to try to get it sorted in time. I miss the updates, but it'll be ok.
  23. Doubt it. They're probably running razor close to being behind on a target release date and literally can't spare the time to do anything but dev stuff.
