Everyone wants more, but I'd rather not have release pushed back for completely unnecessary (but neat) procedural solar that will provide insufficient power for late game purposes anyway. The point is, the existing panels are plenty for right up to the point where solar just isn't enough. I'm fine waiting for a dlc for procedural solar. Lots of work for purely cosmetic reasons.

The new VAB looks so much less claustrophobic and depressing. Excellent choice with the windows. Is that a new space skybox? Looks awesome!

Often times if there's going to be a video, someone will mention an unlisted or unwatchable video on the youtube page because they load it up before they unlock it. Did anyone see one this time?

April fools is right around the corner, so...
-
Think the dots are indexing marks that show the message is "this wide" and now goes vertically. I had hoped to hear more by now, but yeah it's feeling like holiday 2022 for release.
-
Should have one since it's not complete yet.

Ksp 2 Feature Video is being filmed right now
TLTay replied to Deadmeat24's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Probably be out in March or April. The video, not the game. -
In fairness, they attempted lithobraking but the collision model wasn't finished so we passed right through and had to wait till the next periapsis.
-
What possible purpose could that nonsense serve?
-
Hoping it's for a DLC and we aren't going to get some bad news. Any way to check LinkedIn for departures?
-
Interesting bit of info: I was looking up the composer for KSP2 for anothet forum post, and his linkedin said he was hired in March of 2020. Recall that in mid 2019, they said we'd be getting an early 2020 release. So this lends more to the idea that they got a lot more interest tha expected and decided to massively increase scope and detail.

I do not recall the developers saying anything about this one way or the other.

They have a composer hired for KSP2. Their name is listed here somewhere on the forum. Mostrom? Bostrom? Something like that. The music from the vids is probably from the composer and will likely be in game. Found it: Howard Mostrom.

This poster is correct. I hadn't noticed. That's unfortunate. I was hoping it was almost done. Oh well.

I don't remember, but it wouldn't be surprising since they intended to release soon thereafter. They probably got a lot more interest than planned and decided to delay to make the game all it could be instead of KSP1 with stock mods. Just a guess. They mentioned PAX specifically in some job postings for KSP2. I don't care about the expo, but game journalists and channels tend to get info/trailers/etc from these kind of things that does influence purchases.

Will KSP 2 have Lagrange points?
TLTay replied to Nerbal The Second's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
They could simulate lagrange points by having a very small SOI at the point location that is only activated when a ship is moving slower than x speed. Getting to the L point would be a bit gamey due to lack of n-body, but having it only trigger below a certain relative m/s would prevent the SOI from interfering with other missions. -
No idea, but games tend to release within months after getting a rating. The game needs to be done enough to rate, and the rating needs to be done before going to market. So it's looking promising for news at PAX in April.
-
Most recent show and tell had an ESRB rating pending icon. Apparently you only get RP after you have applied for rating, which means they've submitted their rating packet/form/info for review. Games usually release fairly soon after they get their rating, from what I can gather. Should mean it's almost done.

New job posting: Senior Mission Designer
TLTay replied to TLTay's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Do "authentic space missions" need authentic space planets and authentic n-body physics? How authentic are we talking, T2? -
https://careers.take2games.com/job/3870419 From posting: The Challenge The senior mission designer constructs missions to guide the player in mastering the suite of skills behind building and flying authentic space missions. What You’ll Take On This experienced designer will work alongside the lead designer to plan, build, and refine tutorials and missions. This designer must have a comprehensive understanding of the game's systems and how they each contribute to a wide variety of flights a player may perform. They are responsible for teaching players how these systems work in bite-sized pieces and then challenge them in a freeform, sandbox environment where any given mission may be handled in a myriad of creative ways. Me again: Did they discover that the tutorial system was insufficient to turn a rank noob into a master of orbital mechanics? It mentions "tutorials and missions." Or is this being added for a Making History DLC for KSP2? They mention "authentic space missions" in the posting... I think not many ppl really used the mission system but I could be wrong. Either way, I hope it doesn't lead to another delay... I fear it might be a harbinger of harsh news. Especially that tutorial part.
-
I don't know. Wouldn't this kind of thing be saved for last since it can be finished while the otherwise completed game is in testing? It might be done soon...
