  1. I did, yes. Fresh install. Added several of "my" mods, all updated to 1.8.x. Result: Crash every other hour, error message "GC_malloc_uncollectable" as per the crash.dmp Only thanks to LGG's mod, I can now play w/o hassles
  2. I think we're talking past each other here, on various aspects. At any rate, thanks for your time and energy reading and reacting to my little rant, appreciated
  3. Will do, as discussed earlier. Makes no sense to report posts months ago, does it? And it was, see first line of my original post, mainly about venting, which I did, and which, as I worded it, doesn't violate any TOS, I think.
  4. Update 2: Since installing Heappadder, not even a single crash, neither with 1.7.3, nor with 1.8.1. I wish SQAUD would make this "mod" (bugfix, actually) part of the core game, imo it would be their job to fix such issues, not the job of fellow modders like @linuxgurugamer Thanks again, LGG, that I can play now as I like to
  5. A little venting and walking on thin ice...: On the one hand, some discussions simple are not possible due to nowadays political correctness (no examples required, I think). On the other hand, I see posts with an image like of a gun or a tank or another weapon and a text below like "kills all commies" (I've actually seen such posts in the forums here). Which is by my book, and in particular regarding political correctness, a clear call for murder. Isn't that a bit hypocritical? Sigh...
  6. Doesn't matter that much here, @Astrion if you're using Windows 7, 8, or 10, they're all pretty similar regarding your question. 8 GB isn't that much by today's standards, you will be a able to load some mods, but not too many. Some mods don't require much RAM (in particular simple config mods), others are quite demanding, in particular mods with lots of textures or mods that change game play a lot. KSPIE itself plus all its dependencies probably demand more RAM than your PC has, you can try it out of course, but I'd expect your PC won't be able to handle them with acceptable performance.
  7. I see. I, on the other hand, am glad that there are no such restrictions, e.g. if going for a Mun landing on a specific spot which is currently at the dark side, it can take quite a while to forward time, and with a 100x limit for low orbit, it takes way too long real time for me.
  8. As @Geonovast said, that's the size of each of your hard drive partitions, you can see that in your snapshot as well . KSP itself runs fine with less than 8 GB of RAM, but when you add mods, the amount of RAM increases significantly, e.g. my setup with some 80 mods requires 12 GB RAM, and during game play, that number increases over time. This. If you go to PC Settings - System - About, you should see something similar to this: "Installed RAM" is was you're looking for.
  9. Hmm... that's odd. The mod is still supported, I'd ask directly in the mod thread for help:
  10. Yes, that's a pity Hopefully @jandcando or @damonvv will recompile it for 1.8.x
  11. Glad you found the cause of the problem and could resolve it, @Chakkoty Here is an excellent tutorial about rendezvous and docking by our fellow Kerbonaut @Snark:
  12. As per CKAN, the latest version compatible with KSP 1.3.1 is 1.23.0.0 which should available here: https://spacedock.info/mod/172/KSP Interstellar Extended Took me less than 5 Minutes to find out using Google
  13. Thank you, @severedsolo FYI, the old version worked fine with KSP 1.8.1, I actually forgot to check for any updates for a while.
  14. Hi @poebanyguziec and welcome to the forums, it's always nice to see new Kerbonauts around To be able to answer your question, we'll need some more details about your setup as per this guideline:
  15. What a lot of useful little mods, many thanks for the link, @RealKerbal3x!
  16. Just curious: why would you want such mod that still enforces the altitude limits, @Sirius K ?
  17. CKAN still says 0.9.6-ksp-1.8.0, I assume because https://raw.githubusercontent.com/whale2/WorldStabilizer/master/GameData/WorldStabilizer/WorldStabilizer.version still says so.
  18. SRBs are cheap and powerful to use as a first stage. As others said before: (my) main income source are contracts, in particular tourism contracts. Take a look here
  19. Ha! That did it! I'd probably never had found that, thank you! Btw, the reason I'm using that mod: I was on the hunt for small parts, and while RLA reborn has many of them, I doesn't have an inline chute. For some missions I can't place a chute on top of the rocket (say you need to bring a rocket with specific parts into orbit and recover its core), an inline chute is the perfect solution for that. I'm still looking for a smaller version of the Mk2-R chute, that one is way too big for RLA Reborn parts or the SSR Micro Sat parts. And no, I don't want to go for procedural parts (Tweakscale and the like), for one, that's cheating for me, and they also can cause issues.
  20. I'm well aware of this Quite possible, yes. Yeah, big bug hunt, you mentioned earlier. As I said: I just found it pretty odd and thought to let you know, that's all
