  1. The developers didn't "take excrements from TT" but their bosses. As a former developer myself ( although in car industry and automotive Software not gaming) I would never ever take a move against my employer as a move against me as a person. It's capitalism and game industry after all, so there is not such thing as a good company. I would look, whether they offer to pay my coworkers and me a higher salary or have other goodies. In the end the company wants maximum profit from my work and I want to have the biggest share possible from it and then decide to accept it or not. It's not an issue where morality leads to anything.
  2. They even had a simulator but management decided that it wouldn't be needed ( same software what can possibly go wrong bla?). After the crash it was used and the explosion was exactly reproduced: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cluster_(spacecraft)#Launch_failure
  3. MechJeb because I was a noob who couldn't achieve orbit or rendevouz otherwise. I gan do it myself now but still prefer designing to flying. KER was next
  4. Yes, especially the graphic settings. Some settings of newer version are not covered so you will have to experiment with them, but this guide has some clues: On Steam there is a more recent update even for 1.6. Should still apply to current versions: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1184854420
  5. The URL is the same as in your previous post. Is this intended or did you want to show off something else? Nice station btw
  6. Actually it's not standard per se. The Kerpollo challenge demands to undock/redock from/to mothership inside the moons SOI
  7. Thanks I will keep this in mine And 1000 € is not fixed totally. I can live to spend some bucks more, but I don't want to spend 2000 bucks either.
  8. To be honest I'm not quite sure whether I should pick AMD Ryzen or Intel. As far I looked people tend to differ whether AMD or Intel is actually superior.
  9. Well this is a flaw, which can easily fixed. Bring more fuel next time or (the way I would choose) bring a miner to use on Bop, and Pol for refuelling.
  10. Nah, this was just a simulation in the engineering tool of Wernher and Bill. Sure you can improve the landers and repeat since you already did most of the mission then.
  11. That's a good advice, thank you. I think I will look for two comparable offers on hardwarerat and dubaro and then take the better offer (in terms of Value for money, warranty offers etc). However I'm still not quite settled whether I should wait for KSP2 or not.
  12. Ok, then I actually unterstood it correct. But it's not in effect any more, so no refuel mission allowed, right?
  13. But I don't want to built the pc myself. Configuring on a retail site like alternate might be an option but assembling a pc while I could already playing is sonething I don't like to do in my pasttime
  14. Hello everybody, I plan to buy a PC for gaming. Up to now I always used Laptops for everything, but I really would love to use graphic mods for KSP1 and I also want to have a smooth experience with KSP2. So: It will be something like a KSP video console I don't plan to assemble it, since my job is already enough dealing with computer problems. So I will stick to buying a PC. It will have Windows pre-installed. Although I'm a big fan of Linux I expect that KSP2 will only be available at Windows first so I won't take any chances. And since I can Linux install for dual boot, it's not really an issue. Some questions though: 1. I have a budget of around 1000 € (a little bit more or less is ok, but not much) just for the PC (I already have a monitor, speakers, keyboard, mouse etc), this should be enough for a decent kit, right? 2. Is anything known about the requirements of KSP2? I didn't find anything. Should I wait until release to pick the right hardware? 3. I kind of like the offers on www.alternate.de It's a German PC shop, where you can select pre-configured PCs, but they also have a tool for configuring a PC just with a few clicks. But I don't have any clue which mainboard, graphic card etc might be a good option so I tend to use one of regular PCs. Are gaming pcs worth it or more a rip of and I should stay to the Desktop models? What do you experts thing about following offers: 1. https://www.alternate.de/HP/ENVY-Desktop-TE01-0006ng-Gaming-PC/html/product/1576530? Specs: CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-9400F, 6 cores 2900 MHz, L3 Cache: 9216 KB Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 8 GB VRAM RAM: 16 GB 2 Harddrives, one SSD (512 MB), one regular hard disk (1TB) DVD-Burner included and several USB, sound, network etc options Pricetag: 1.199 Euro 2. https://www.alternate.de/Lenovo/IdeaCentre-T540-15ICK-G-Gaming-PC/html/product/1613286? Specs: CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-9400F six cores, 2900 MHz L3 Cache: 9216 KB Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6.144 MB VRAM RAM: 16 GB One 1 TB SSD No DVD drive Pricetag: 999 Euro On the first impression the first one seems better. Although RAM and CPU are identical, the GPU has more VRAM , more disk space and it has a DVD burner (I don't need one very often but quite handy If ever, I even could convert my old audio cds to a digital library) just for 200 bucks more. However the second offer claims, it's RAM can be extended up to 32 GB (since it has more RAM slots), while the first one has just two which are already filled with the 16 GB. I might be wrong but shouldn't it possible to replace them with more RAM when it gets available? If the first one doesn't allow this It might be better to take the second and invest the money in an external disk drive and dvd rive. On the other hand as far I know VRAM is a critical limit for KSP and Unity games in general (correct me If this is repurposed bovine waste) so 2 GB more might be a big difference on the end of the day. What do you thing about these offers? Are they ok, even for KSP2? Should I wait for KSP2 and then look again for something similiar (corresponding to KSP2s requirements)? Or are they to expensive for your taste? Any hints are highly appreciated. Regards, Jost.
  15. Some insight why Fluroine won't be part of any space program in the near future can be found in the blog of chemist Derek Lowe: https://blogs.sciencemag.org/pipeline/archives/2008/10/21/things_i_wont_work_with_triazadienyl_fluoride https://blogs.sciencemag.org/pipeline/archives/2010/02/23/things_i_wont_work_with_dioxygen_difluoride https://blogs.sciencemag.org/pipeline/archives/2008/02/26/sand_wont_save_you_this_time
  16. Well that' correct and all but since this is a question inside KSP 2 discussion it would make nice challenges for KSP2.
  17. Well the striked out rule didn't allow a rescue but a refuelling mission. This way you would send a large fuel tank to Jool, dock with it, transfer the fuel and then return home. But since the rule is striked out you seems to be out of this option, except I missed something.
  18. Hello everybody, I really like this mod and the way it improves Career mode. Thanks to @nightingale and everybody else involved. But I think it's quite annoying that I can't send probes to gas giants because then I can't launch a crewed program for this gas giant. I discovered an old github issue: https://github.com/jrossignol/Strategia/issues/38 I don't think that the problem are missing probe programs. The impactor and flyby programs are idea for Gas giants imho (one mimicks even Voyager1+2). So I created a pul request, which changes the requirement for gas giants that no manned vessel is allowed to reached them or be on route before launching the program: https://github.com/jrossignol/Strategia/pull/86 At least in the Administration this looks as expected. Coudn't test it more though. If anybody wants to test this, backup your StrategiaFolder, afterwards open GameData/Strategia/Strategies/CrewedMissions-3-GasGiantProgram.cfg in a text editor and make sure to replace EFFECT { name = ReachedBodyRequirement invert = true body = $body } EFFECT { name = VesselEnrouteRequirement invert = true body = $body } with EFFECT { name = ReachedBodyMannedRequirement invert = true body = $body } EFFECT { name = VesselEnrouteRequirement manned = true invert = true body = $body } Any feedbacks is highly appreciated, especially of potential bugs. Regards, jost
  19. Hmpf, when the challenge startet it was allowed to send one (and only one) refuel mission to Jool. But the rule was striked out: On the other hand I did a search to find the reasoning behind the change and didn't find anything. @JacobJHC Did I miss something or might this be a rescue option for @Ksp Slingshooter?
  20. There is quite a nice free variant with a improved graphics and a great modding community: Oolite But of course not so great as in EliteDangerous et al
  21. Hello everybody, I wondered why the senior port of the ConstructionMod didn't appear in the Tetrix Techtree. The reason is a simple typo in GameData/AngleCanMods/TETRIXTechTree/TETRIXTechTree-ModParts.cfg Open it in a editor and replace @PART[ConstructionPort2] { @TechRequired = Composites } with @PART[ConstructionPort2] { @TechRequired = composites } and the port is appearing again in the tech tree:) @theJesuit Do you have a github/gitlab Account? I would have created a PR but I coudn't find a public repository for the mod. Thanks four your work, the TechTree is fantastic. Regards, Johannes.
  22. Yes. However you don't need to complete the mission. You could use Debug-menu to complete the contract. It might feel cheaty but since it's a single player game nobody will find out i do this everytime when I think a contract should be counted as completed but KSP thinks otherwise
