Project Astra: America's Next Small Step (CHAPTER 5)
AeroSky replied to AeroSky's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT Hello, everyone! With Christmas break (for everyone, I assume) approaching, and time for Project Astra growing, expect more chapters more frequently (maybe even two chapters a week) starting this weekend (Dec. 19). I will also be conducting a review of Project Astra's content (and thread) to organize everything and to prepare it for take-off (More chapters). I will also test the KSRSS mod (below) to see if my laptop can run it without lag. Chapter 3 is ready for release and Chapter 4 will start drafting today! Please also note the modlist given is outdated and will be replaced soon. EDIT: The mini-chapter links have been removed from the main post to de-clutter it. The mini-chapters still exist. Stay safe! -
[1.8.1] Kerbal Konstructs - 1.8.1.15 - 15.Dec.2019
AeroSky replied to Ger_space's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I know this is going off-topic, but I just really wanted to ask, (in the photo), what is that thing at the top left and what mod adds that? Thanks! P.S. I agree completely! This is an amazing mod! -
Efficient ways to get into orbit (Stock KSP)
AeroSky replied to AeroSky's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I'm pretty sure that isn't 100% accurate, so I'll just use trusty Kerbal Engineer! Thanks for all the help! I'd better go read some books about aerodynamics to get better at this Also, I assume a TWR of 1.4 to 1.5 is fine, right? -
Efficient ways to get into orbit (Stock KSP)
AeroSky replied to AeroSky's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Hmm. How do I calculate (or how do I know) the TWR, drag, aerodynamics, etc. of my rocket? The only thing I understand is that you should turn earlier if your rocket is going up faster (referring to the higher TWR). That would be much easier if I had sounding rocket parts or 0.35m (or whatever diameter sounding rockets are) diameter rocket parts. Those look like needles. -

AeroSky replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Is this 1.10.1 compatible? Also, do the parts of this mod appear in the Start node? Thanks! -
Efficient ways to get into orbit (Stock KSP)
AeroSky replied to AeroSky's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Yes, I've been playing KSP for quite a while now, so I know that But what do I do if my rocket tips over while attempting a manual gravity turn? -
RP-1 Realistic Progression One for KSP 1.12.3
AeroSky replied to pap1723's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Is there a way to use the procedural avionics alone without the entire mod? Thanks! -

Project Astra: America's Next Small Step (CHAPTER 5)
AeroSky replied to AeroSky's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Hello, everyone! I have stumbled upon this mod called KSRSS which reskins the stock planets to the Solar System planets, but keeps them at stock scale. It's only available for 1.8.1 (and possibly 1.9.1 since Kopernicus is updated to that), and I'm guessing mods such as BDB, KSC Extended, KER, etc. have 1.8.1 (or 1.9.1) versions. Should I "film" Project Astra in KSRSS (I have a few empty 1.8.1 saves lying around on my laptop) or should I stay with stock KSP planets? Mod: The photos look great! -
Project Astra: America's Next Small Step (CHAPTER 5)
AeroSky replied to AeroSky's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Update (Again) Hello! Just to let you all know, Chapter 3 is complete and ready for a release, but the photos are not ready (or taken) yet. If you want, I can release Chapter 3 without the photos now (or later today) so you all have something to read. Otherwise, you all will have to wait until Saturday. Thanks! P.S. I'm thinking of adding probes (Which will totally not be Soviet) and their missions to the story. What do you all think? -

[WIP] Small Steps - Sounding Rockets!
AeroSky replied to Vals_Aerospace's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Sure! This is a very promising mod! Personally, I haven't tried 2.5x or 2.7x scale (Since Kopernicus doesn't officially support 1.10.1. I know the Bleeding Edge branch exists though), but I am looking forward to having a mod dedicated to sounding rockets instead of downloading BDB or something for them -

This is really interesting! Can I get the chapters and make it into one PDF for personal use? I'll definitely reference you as the author (Who wouldn't?! You are a phenomenal writer!) P.S @jimmymcgoochie, keep up the amazing work! This is by far one of, if not the, greatest stories I have ever read!

Hello there! I want to make a KSP-focused youtube channel (which currently doesn't exist yet, will make it this weekend), but I want to know: 1. What do KSP players (All of you guys, I assume ) want to see? Rockets? Space Stations? Ludicrously sized behemoths? (I can't built ludicrously sized behemoths by the way). I want to create unique content, so yeah! 2. What are some things you guys expect from a KSP youtuber? Consistency? Quality videos? Thanks!

Hi! Is this 1.10.1 compatible? Also, do we need EVE installed to run this or do we just download and paste in the gamedata folder? Thanks!

Project Astra: America's Next Small Step (CHAPTER 5)
AeroSky replied to AeroSky's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
I've taken a look at it, and it looks cool, albeit a little to "sci-fi" for me. Might install.
