I have not but it looks pretty awesome. I imagine there are setting to fine tune difficulty? Or at least a relaxed pace? I've never been particularly good at 4x games, but did have a brief love affair with "Sins of Solar Empire" many years ago. This has made me feel a bit better about my current Blegh that trending. I really appreciate the recommendations.

I'll have to add that one to the list. A brief 10 minute read through makes Avarion seem pretty cool.

I haven't checked out DSP, but it's on my list. I keep looking at the store page and vacilating back and forth. Played Satisfactory for a bit early but had some issues with my OCD & base restructuring. I have some friends that run a dedicated server and do enjoy playing multi-player. Like Planet Crafter a great deal as well, but have a hard time really connecting... for like a 1000 hour save. I've played Mundustry a lot If I were going to pick DSP or Factorioyou would recommend DSP?

I've blown so much more on games since KSP2 dropped in EA, than i ever have befote. The underwhelming gameplay loop has me Jonesin something fierce for that "perfect" management game. Yes.. I like Rimworld.. but KSP1 filled a niche that satisfied both the management and Exploration loops I enjoy so much. Anyone check out "Rocket Science"? I've never been a very hopeful person by nature and I have pretty much given up on seeing KSP2 resemble anything I was excited about. I do enjoy Juno & Kithack so far.. but neither seem to scratch the itch. Space engineers & Stationeers are fun... but I need a constrained sandbox experience. Something tailored with Lore. Timberborn is doing a good job of idling away those early morning hours where the world is asleep... but i am not. Alas, it lacks the story I crave. Manor Lords is another game looking pretty awesome, but with less story than I desire. :Sigh: Back to writing irreverent fan fiction and trying to find that next game that really *hooks* me. Give it a like if you enjoy slightly crude humor. https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/topic/224640-my-kerbal-fan-fiction/#comment-4383495 What's Everyone Playing?

Leeboo Kerman gnawed ferociously on the end of her #2.3 pencil. Small pieces of red rubber speckled her lips as she continued masticating little chunks of eraser. This was the moment she had spent her entire life training for. United Rocket acceptance criteria was not widely known outside the elite circle managing the new space startup, but Leeboo had a good feeling. Word around the rumour mill suggested they were looking for the perfect combination of certain characteristics. Apparently, the standardized tests were specifically designed to chart an individuals courage / stupidity index. Considering half the candidates were using the wrong side of the pencil, Leeboo thought she had a shot. The buzzer sounded and Leeboo dropped her pencil and carefully wiped stray bits of eraser from her face. She stood up, wondering how many people puke during the rotary rocket test. Meanwhile...

Though i have zero faith the game will ever see completion, i try to avoid being outright dick. That is part of conducting oneself with curtesy. So i will further point out the dissonance of your commentary... VS Which is it? Drunk Nate or PR schmuck? Or possibly now a third alternative. The same exact sentiment could have been conveyed without derogatory personal commentary. Could have mentioned past EA failures or a crowdsourced money grab.. other instances of misdirection / PR propaganda, the past failure to effectively communicate meaningful content... All those things would lend legitimacy to your words. Comments like the first, may elicit a wry chuckle from some, but really doesn't contribute to any greater dialogue the community is having. -

Whis is it.. complaining about the lack of any comment from the developers of KSP2? OR .. Disregard that there is some form of comment and personally attack the character of someone on the Team? I have made my skepticism about creative direction known, but i try to avoid situations where I try to have it both ways. -

Check Intercept discord #announcments Still at work. Can't talk about it. -
I thought I may be alone in that regard. It's dumb AF how crappy I feel over this. My desire to play KSP was sapped a little while back.. I ha e been spending idle time curating a new mod list though. Hell, if they get the game breakers fixed & someone makes a contract configurator I'd be back on deck. I just began unity / VS tutorials & am starting so far behind the curve.. we will have real people on Mars before I am there.

RIP Kerbal Space Program 2: It's Maybe Over?
Fizzlebop Smith replied to AtomicTech's topic in KSP2 Discussion
I think there is a serious disconnect from Creative & Community Management / The Community. I do not know this person at all... but it feels as if I should not trust the things being said. Enthusiasm without substance is often a red flag. The game was released in a state that was so bug ridden it took them almost 8 months to bring to an acceptable state to play. If you take the PR and marketing / things Nate has said right up until now... Well I simply cannot find it in myself to trust them. However the rest of the dev team are doing a job they were paid to do.. and God help them right now. I feel terrible for the CMs put in a rock and hard place these last few months. Definition of am untenable situation. -

+1 As usual, wonderful words of advice. I was a bit overzealous in my use of the like button. Apparently, I am unable to give this the like it deserves. You often offer a silver lining or ray of sunshine in an otherwise excrement-y situation. I do hope all those that put hard work into the title, are able to find employment elsewhere One thing that I see as a ray of light. Recently the US FTC has banned non-compete contact clauses. I am hoping this allows developers more ease and flexibility in finding more work (at least where I live) & hopefully opens the door on a resurgence in the indi scene. It is often the indi development that captures out hear and forms cult followings KSP is such a franchise to me. Discovered after my bout of homelessness, it saved me. At least assisted I the process of my salvation. Part of that was due tp community interaction. Though my opinions of various aspects of this game have been less than positive / optimistic, my love for the franchise and community is still there. I am sad for us all and hope we can avoid a descent into more toxic behaviors. -
[snip] Everyone that is preset, is quite hurt / upset in some capacity. I am quite floored as I wait for more word on what "support" will entail. We may think the time for patience is past, but it is more important than ever that we maintain civility among one another. Those I individuals you pinged will have a great deal of beaucratic BS to navigate before offical statements can be made. Think of "chill" as : "There is a realistic (minimum) expectation for response. Due to the nature of corporate structure, this is unavoidable. Do not get your hopes up waiting on said response this early"

This is probably the most horrible news I've had in a long long time. I will gladly contribute funds to a crowdsourcing project to license this title.. should it come to that. If something like that is the case.. (anyone have amy legal insight on) how long would it be before they were required to stop sales?

Did i say therefore they cannot. Nah.. but you infered that so there would be one more step to facilitate climbing that high horse. My disappointment Is related to the lack of definitive insight into how they will approach this. Notice the vocabulary usage "I Do not see" VS the distinctly different "There is no way they will ever be able to" -
I don't recall anything specific by the devs regarding it.. but from what I can tell they are not planning in adding finite levels of detail to parts of the game already implemented. Bug Fixes & Roadmap Features are the focus. I would absolutely LOVE to see some more depth added. Layers like that (I feel) increase the gameplay experience. I pretend the mod for KSP2 "wayfarer wings" are career badges I kind of use that and focus specific kerbonauts on missions similiar to ribbons I've already collected.. try to curate a set of ribbons that follow a theme.

Meanwhile, Simean Kerman ponders his position in life. What happened along the way to make him so.. well afraid? As he stared at the monochrome monitor of Jules Kerbal excavating down on the sea floor. They were a true adventurer. At 18 they made their first major discovery and was allowed to take the surname Kerbal. You have to be pretty special the be approved for a name change! His thoughts began to drift as he pictured himself in Jules place. Sucking up all that silt, battling malcontent cephalopods. Simean didn't notice the movement in the silt. The way the Eddie's and currently current pushed the murky water in ways that suggested something LARGE was just off feed. While Simean was lost in daydreams....

What happened to increased communication?
Fizzlebop Smith replied to DoomsdayDuck555's topic in KSP2 Discussion
What rules? I'm curious about the method in which the proposed resources will address core gameplay loops in manner more analogous to career. I do not see how that will be done. I keep seeing resources are the answer. Will resources prevent me from launching a 200t mega rocket 20 minutes after start up? No rules there, just uncertainty on how it will reconcile into some sort of experience similar to what I enjoyed about KSP1 If so, awesome. How? Can we get a dev blog on the cliff noted regarding each stop of the roadmap. No, why not? .So far (like everything outside the realm of "ooh pretty") has largely been unaddressed. The Only Real Rule I have regarding EA is that the developer "maintain timely and effective communication about the current state and planned direction of the game I did make that one up. As long as that is observed, I remain content by & large.. even if I feel the gameplay is abyssmal. -
I am curious what you are basing this on? The conversations on discord have led me to think this is already a final decision. Is there something specific or is this a gut feeling?

Fizzlebop Smith replied to DoomsdayDuck555's topic in KSP2 Discussion
Isn't that kind of the whole point though? We are a long way out & have no idea what's *really* planned. I keep hearing that resources will somehow *fix* the gameplay loop. I would love to hear someday feedback on how they are going to (specifically) address the gameplay loop geared at career players. If I have to get to the Mun.. or Minmus before interstellar flight is possible, so what? The only way I see resources having that kind of impact omis of I have to manufacture metholox before I get to leave Kerbin. So far that doesn't really *feel* like it aligns with dev expectations. Do to no official word.. I cannot help but feel it never will be, and there will never be an official mechanic analogue to career. It seems at this point, by releasing exploration as the answer.. makes me as a career player.. feel shafted. -

"you" as in the general plural (regarding ALL those that enjoyed primarily playing science mode in KSP1) I would use "we" but that is not really operative as "I" cannot stand science mode. and feel the game abandoned a large portion of its core community. The fact that there isn't even an option to "decline" a mission suggests to me, that there will likely never be a game play loop really analogous to what i think of as "career". (Thank the powers for modders) I am baffled that they ever thought they could consolidate the two. They are at odd with one another. In KSP1 You essentially have Science. And then you Science (PLUS). The plus of course being all the stuff on top of science that makes career mode what it was. By making "exploration" they have essentially (to me) made an irreconcilable rift in the community. The science player will always be vocal about those "constraints" they NEVER wanted to play with to begin with. So now there is a select group talking about how poorly implements these things like missions, and funds, and upgrading buildings, 30 count part limits. Because that part of the game was never intended for the style of play that you enjoy. Now those of us that enjoyed all those things get at length discussions trying to defend those things we enjoyed.. when the designer of the first game had the foresight to make us both happy.
