  1. Here's a question of cosmetics (which is always silly to ask when you're still working on the core, but hey!): Currently, exhaust fumes come directly from the engineblock (for road vehicles, at the least). Are you considering an actual exhaust pipe? Happy dreams and conceptual thinking following. Up to you to figure out if it's possible or worth it at all: A part that checks for any engines running. If it finds engines, it disables the smoke particles coming from the engineblock and emits them instead. Amount of particles dependent on how many engines, if they're on, at what throttle and gear. It's not a vital part. It may not be possible, but it would mean so much for aesthetic design. Imagine cab-over trucks with the smoke stacks! Like Optimus Prime, YEAH!
  2. Soviet power supreme! Bringing down the hammer. (Apocalypse tank, Red Alert 2)
  3. That goes two ways, though... Why use the aerodynamic/hidden one at all? Wasted dev time, innit? I like looks just as much as you do. Surely there is a middle road that would please us both. I would be happy if it could be a config option at the very least, much like you said earlier.
  4. That's fine and dandy, Hodo, but I'm thinking fun over realism. I'm not asking for much. Give me 5 degrees? Enough so that no matter where you place your guns on your craft (within reason, of course), you can still hit stuff without having to be super spot-on. If I wanted realism, I'd be playing a combat flight sim. I just want to use this for over-complicated debris clean-up.
  5. I notice you have "Aerodynamic/Hidden Vulcan" on your To-Do list. If you do that, please allow it to swivel at least a little bit. Less than the "open" Vulcan, of course, but enough that you don't need to be spot-on like you'd need to be with the GAU-8. I am aware that this is probably a thing for a future, but still.
  6. Where's the Squad folder? All I'm seeing is BDArmory. I think you're best off nuking the entire installation (back up any saves and crafts you want to keep!), reinstalling the game and trying again.
  7. This would be how it works in real life, but as Mr. (presumably?) Ferrets mentions: As the bomb is a single part (and believe you me, I'm only a config editor. No new parts. ), I doubt the fins have enough authority to sufficiently alter the path of the bomb. I could be wrong though, which is why I'm asking here to be sure. If the bomb's fins generate enough lift/drag and the bomb itself torque to make use of the fins, then I wouldn't need thrust. But I believe I do need to enable the thrust on the bombs (0.1 thrust? Maybe that's even too high...) to get them to accurate glide towards the target. But, again, I'd rather ask first before fiddling around too much.
  8. So, I was going through the configs for a bit, and I saw that the bombs can be guided too. This is interesting! GBU-12 Paveway II, anyone? But I was wondering, do the bombs have any power to alter their flight path on their own, or would I need to give them just the tiniest amount of thrust to achieve that? I'm guessing they need thrust to alter their path, but who knows, right?
  9. For that, you can always use the Action Manager buttons, so while it'd be a somewhat useful addition, it's not outright necessary (for me). ______________________ Having had a go with this, I have to say: The fact these guns swivel and are mouse-aimed makes them the most useful out of all the weapon mods out there at this time. Thank you and well done!
  10. In a game about rocket science and going into space, easy mode seems like a good thing. So, I'm not sure why you're making it sound like it's a bad thing. And screw the community (ie. you) if their (that is, your) respect for me stems from making things harder for myself.
  11. Download the .zip from the original post. Open the .zip with WinRAR, WinZip, or your own preferred archive tool. Extract the files to the Gamedata folder inside the installation. It should work now. EDIT: Whoops. Ninja'd by six minutes. A new record!
  12. The infrared missiles, I agree with. There's infrared (or at least heatseeking...) in Skillful if you're willing to go with that weapon pack, so this is a simple and fun alternative. (and with the mouse aiming for the guns, I'd say even superior... but don't tell InfiniteDice!) For thrust vectoring, I don't know. How well do the missiles currently behave in space (I'll admit I haven't tried the pack just yet)? If they're really nimble and accurate then that's that. If they couldn't hit the broadside of a cruiser at point-blank range... then, yeah. An accurate space-missile/torpedo might be nice to have*. Whether or not this is through thrust vectoring is a different issue to solve at that point. * Realism be damned. Please follow Squad's philosophy: Fun over realism!
  13. "y my rokkit no fly!? i pres space an erryting!!!!!!!1!" Probably.
  14. Not entire sure I can endorse all the K-nations, but the flags look interesting at least. Not bad.
  15. Whose professionally developed game? You are not the developer of the game, FC. Installing a mod is not something that can be done without understanding you are changing the game somebody else made, therefor making it impossible to forget your game is modded. I think it is a glorious display of hubris that you think your mod has such an effect on people that you would think they are forgetting they are playing modded KSP. EDIT: At any rate, this is not your mod either. You are using somebody else's tool to help your own mod along. I am well aware that playing nice with others is not a thing you list in your resumé, as you never have, but it is the vision of sarbian to have the information visible, for whatever reason they thought it necessary.
  16. Nice! How early is this on the tech-tree, if I may ask? Is it somewhere near KAS' containers? That would make it very useful for early rover expeditions.
  17. Fair enough! I was just curious. First time I'm seriously playing around with new aerodynamics models. It seemed a bit excessive, to be honest. Thanks!
  18. Just out of curiosity: Is 400 m/s at 400 meters and shock cones (white "reentry effects") expected behaviour when flying a plane?
  19. I have no idea what this means! But I'll take that compliment and run with it. (You're probably thinking of another Melfice.)
  20. I will laugh my arse off if it doesn't update today. All this hype because you're being told to remain seated. It could just as easily mean it's not quite there yet. But I do hope it'll be out, of course.
  21. What kind of crazy country do you live in where they tell you that on the train? o_0 In the Netherlands, you're better off waiting by the doors so you can run like a madman to catch your connection, because your train is invariably two minutes late (although "still on time" because of allowable "margins"... NS basterds...).
  22. Are you braking? Tap B. Also, right click the wheels. The wheels need to have the motors engaged.
  23. Ah, good to see your host has giving you a very specific timeframe. "Plan accordingly" around complete uncertainty. I'm not blaming you, of course! This is as much an annoyance to you guys as to us. It's just funny. *coughdelusionalcough*
  24. Have you activated the motors in the wheels? They're not automatically engaged.
