I think it's obvious what the site is. Have you ever clicked a link, and then closed the browser before it loaded? Everything that was requested from the server but didn't get loaded ended up dying in some sort of TCP limbo. All those graphics and bits of text are the spirits of webpages that were never displayed. That's why it reminds people of geocities so much, and why it changes every time you view it. Back in the elder times, when the internet was delivered by an ancient mysterious force called "dial-up", webpages were slow to load. This ended up with more users getting frustrated and closing them, leading to more mid-90s webfiles perishing in transit. Now, they have found a way to complete their journey- load the page, and they appear in your browser. They are free now. Finally, they know the peace of being displayed. They will rest, and no longer attempt to escape to your browser when you visit the haunted server that holds the Purgatory Of The Internet!

How does it work? As well as the script needs it to for that episode. what kind of engines does it use? Plot drives. Is it really possible?! No.

"Human being" is just a shortened way of saying "being that is human". That doesn't really change anything about "human" being a biological definition. It merely separates a being that is human from a being that is something other than human, such as an alien or intelligent machine.
-
I'm fine with either definition, but we can go with the cladistic approach if you wish. Either way, the only humans are us. Robots and aliens will not fall into that category, as neither one is descended from that particular branch of life, however we are defining it.
-
If it's not a biological organism of the genus homo, it's not human. I'm not saying an AI robot such as you discuss should not be considered a "person", or not have equivalent rights as any human. An alien creature that is in every way identical to a human would also not be a human. Basically, if it's not part of the genus homo, then it's not a human by definition.

If you want organs, wouldn't it be easier to just go harvest them from people that already exist? For laborers, it would also be more effective to just kidnap people that already exist. The overhead of finding women to carry the clones to term, and then the cost of feeding and raising the children until they're old enough to be useful workers would be no better than doing it the old fashioned way, but you'd also have the costs of the cloning. Then you have to wait 10+ years until you can actually get work out of them? Why bother? That also goes for your "disposable" assassins. That's a lot of time and effort to put into something that you're just going to throw away. What exactly makes it disposable in the first place? The clone you raise to be an assassin is going to go through life like a non-clone, building emotional connections to other people. By the time it reaches an age sufficient to carry out its mission, it's going to be a member of the community, no different from you selecting a random member of your vast criminal empire and saying "you're disposable now".

Better plane navigation
razark replied to Engineering101's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Actually, a better navigation system would be useful. (Especially if there were other places to go on the surface...) I'm not sure if I would say that was specific for planes, though. I can see it also being useful for rovers or even landers making a hop from point to point. Most of my plane flying has been pretty much local around the KSC/Island, so I guess I've never though much about long-distance flights. (Especially since there's no other places to go on the surface...) Anyone know if the waypoint mod helps with surface navigation? -
Execute maneuver node
razark replied to Clear Air Turbulence's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Some people prefer building things, but not flying them as much. Some like planning missions. Frankly, after a while, the umpteenth TransMunarInjection burn or burning to capture into orbit becomes more of a chore than a game. It still leaves plenty of more complex maneuvers for the player, like landing, fine tuning an orbit/encounter, or rendezvous and docking. -

This sounds like something that pilots should be able to do. -

What do you think is missing from the navball that is needed for planes? -
I'm torn between "Delivery not available, purchaser must pick up item", or "Delivery guaranteed. Please provide latitude/longitude/altitude. Contact Australia for feedback on delivery service."

It doesn't really matter who they are, or why. Simply put, they will come, they will post, the thread will be locked. It's happened many times before, and will probably continue to happen many times after.
-
There's no post here.
-
Well, for one, since we're discussing the thread and how it's been done before, this is technically off-topic, and that seems to be a good enough reason some days. Aside from that, at some point, someone will start discussion about A vs. B, and then other people will complain about people complaining, etc. and onwards unto the mods and their powers of locking.
-
Yup. How quickly will this one go downhill to Locksville?
-
He was saying that since the xkcd comic was inspired by KSP, the phrase may not have come directly from KSP, KSP is the ultimate source of the idea. I now have a signed copy of Thing Explainer.

No, I don't think anyone plays KSP quite like Elon Musk.

[1.1.2][1-1-2] May 13-2016 EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements
razark replied to rbray89's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I am seeing the same thing. You can narrow down common mods to Chatterer and KerbalEngineer. -
Don't forget https://xkcd.com/1106/ That's the first time I can remember him mentioning KSP. He's doing a book tour for it. I'm planning on taking a long lunch on Monday to see him at Space Center Houston.

Yes, but the car also has all the radio stations set to dubstep version of Gregorian chant/polka fusion (WYSIWYG editor), and the buttons jammed with glue (no way to change it), and most of the passengers are either whining about the car (don't like the forum) or are blaming the driver because the other half won't shut up (blindly ignoring any complaint, no matter the validity). Meanwhile, the police (moderators) are trying to set up a roadblock (working on maintaining some semblance of order) while people continue to drive through the flowerbeds (post threads complaining about the forum all over the place).
-
If nothing else, I expect that it will at least help me keep track of the nodes and layout, which is better than nothing.

My subscriptions aren't.

Thank you. I think that may be the one I had seen before. Didn't realize it had been updated.
