What happened to increased communication?

When in fact all the negativity is driving me away. -

Yeah that one. No clue if it's in there and I'm not watching it again but I think that's where he said it. -
T2 interactive layoffs
Superfluous J replied to Majorjim!'s topic in KSP2 Suggestions and Development Discussion
I've no clue where I got the idea, but I "knew" already that there would be at least one update before Colonies. I want to say Nate said it somewhere. Maybe in that interview he did? -

Then we should be glad we don't work for IG because then no one would be working on the game. I agree with you that they should just say "Look we don't have anything public to say and won't until we release the next update and we don't know when that will come out. Sorry but that's life go outside and touch grass or something" but that's apparently even worse PR than continuing to say they'll communicate and then either not communicate or communicate "wrong" or whatever. -
What happened to increased communication?

Seems like they decided against it. Were it me, I'd just post one thing a day: "Still nothing to report, enjoy your increased communication!" but I'm not trying to sell games and that would probably be a bad idea. -
I've got about a dozen games I want to play right now, and time to play maybe 3 on a regular basis. So, I order those games based on how much I want to play them *right now* and pick the top one. The calculus on that is complicated and done entirely in my subconscious so I can't really explain it, but it involves raw fun, what I feel like doing at the time, how tired I am, how much time I have to play, and how long it's been since I played a particular game. KSP2 tends to reach the top of the list every week, sometimes twice a week sometimes once very 2 weeks, and I tend to play for a few hours before the itch is scratched and it drops back down the list. Colonies and/or bug fixes will surely increase the "raw fun" but I've no idea about how it will affect the other factors, so I don't know how much (if at all) it will increase the time I play it on a weekly basis. For example, my very favorite game for all of 2020 and most of 2021 was Dyson Sphere Program. I kind of burned out on it though and haven't even opened it since a massive update that added enemies and combat back in December 2023. Had you asked me in 2022, I'd have said adding enemies would have pegged it right at the top of the list where it would likely stay for months. Time will tell, I suppose.

Bad science in fiction Hall of Shame
Superfluous J replied to peadar1987's topic in Science & Spaceflight
The Fallout franchise takes place in a fantasy universe where radiation wears off over time and you heal back to normal, 300-year-old tin cans of food are edible (and still available), people use bottle caps as currency, and most everything can be healed by injecting yourself with the correct chemicals. Staring at a nuclear blast is the least of it. You can't fault Fallout for science mistakes any more than you can Star Wars or Marvel. You can discuss internal inconsistencies (e.g., Ant Man still weighs his normal amount when small, but only when the plot needs him to), sure, but not inconsistencies between their universe and ours (e.g., that Ant Man can shrink) Any Terminator movie past the first 2 is not Canon in my brain and needs not be discussed. I don't recall but was it Wolverine (and/or his brother) who did the staring? Because he (and his brother) can heal from the blast itself, so healing from the light shouldn't be a big deal. How could he do that? See above about Marvel being special. -
Wait until you see it yourself. I think it was very well done and wasn't in your face at all.

The big cruises are ridiculously cheap for what you get. Try to find a hotel for 7 nights, and all the food you can eat (including 7 full dinners) for less than $1000 a person. The downside is you are stuck on the ship for the bulk of the time and when you're not, you're stuck in a port you may have not otherwise chosen to be in, surrounded by other tourists and shops trying to swindle them. The smaller cruises are more expensive and suffer a lot of the same problems (which can be worse on a smaller boat), plus if you're prone to sea sickness you'll notice it a lot more. Source: Me -

I've been where the moderators are right now and I feel for them. I would never moderate any forum after the experience I and my fellow moderators went through. All that vitriol just for doing our (unpaid!) jobs was ridiculous, and frankly I'm surprised ANYONE is willing to go through that. Were I a moderator here, I'd have quit long ago. -
I watched Episode 1 right before sleep and woke up just as jazzed for it as I was while watching, which is a really good sign for the show (or at least, for my enjoyment of it). I went in totally cold - except for knowing the universe pretty well having beat both Fallout 3 and New Vegas at least 5 times each, and Fallout 4 twice. I even played Fallout 1 a little but it's hard to go backward especially when the first is a top-down game and the one you started with was full-on 3D. Anyway, this show hits the mark in SO MANY ways. The 3 main characters are well acted and I feel invested in their adventures. The world is well-done and FEELS right. If I could find a thing wrong to say about the show, it's that they seem to try to fit in every single Fallout reference possible (Grognak cartoon on the TV in the opening scene. A brief glimpse of a Tidy Bot. Someone using a Junk Jet gun. The main character describing herself using an abbreviated SPECIAL. Etc.) though that also could be why the world felt so right. The use of SPECIAL was very well placed, felt right, and helped plop me in to this person's life and know enough about them to be more concerned about the predicament they're in than why they know how to use a gun all of a sudden. My wife, who has never played the games, liked the show as well so knowing the references isn't critical to enjoying the show. In fact, not noticing all these little things may have added to her enjoyment because she could experience the world the way I did back in Fallout 3. To make a long story less long but still kinda long (sorry, I didn't have the time to make it shorter), I loved the first episode and am looking forward to devouring the rest like a Deathclaw on stims.

So they're putting the time and effort into making these builds for... what reason? -

2 of my neighbors refused to leave the house for the entirety of the Eclipse. One commented that she had to go inside soon because the partial eclipse was about to start, and another didn't answer the door when I knocked (to give her a free pastry. I mean come on free pastry) about 20 minutes before the partial was over. I believe they thought that they could just go blind by being outside during the eclipse. -

If only this forum was the community. They'd have to lose the Discord channel to be really considered dead. -
I have yet to lose any KSP2 data, so have no experience in it. I'm surprised it doesn't work.

What happened to increased communication?
Superfluous J replied to DoomsdayDuck555's topic in KSP2 Discussion
It's annoying for sure. If it was me and all my communication was met with vitriol I'd stop communicating, but then I'm not running the PR arm of subdivision of a subdivision of a gaming publisher so maybe things would be different. -
What have you been playing recently? (Other than KSP)
Superfluous J replied to a topic in The Lounge
In addition to Balatro and Enshrouded that I've mentioned, I've started playing Slice & Dice, a great little rougelike dice battler where you can change the sides of your characters' dice as you get upgrades. -
