  1. All I can say is don't quote spoilers on mobile, kids. Not. Even. Once.
  2. Before the fix, ships coming down at 10m/s on water were completely destroyed while those doing so on land would lose 2-4 of their lowest parts. After the fix, a ship coming down at 10 m/s into water will survive fully intact. Of course much faster than that you'll have issues but you will in real life also. 3. This is all really old memories but I recall someone asking when the dishes were first put in the game and that was the answer by the devs. Or maybe the devs just said so outright, perhaps in a dev diary. The part I remember for sure is that a dev said it.
  4. Are you playing with ... uh what's the name, the mod that does its own thing for antennas? If so, ask on that thread. If not... I don't know these antennas, but in the VAB are they listed as Relays? It doesn't matter how many antennas you have, but at least one of them must be a relay antenna. You only ever need one per ship unless you want more signal. A single relay antenna can relay any number of other ships back to Kerbin. Also, in settings, make sure you have "enable commnet" checked. It sounds like you do as you see the green lines.
  5. This looks really cool, both as a scenario and as a new idea of how to play. Kudos to you!
  6. Wai you disrespect Squad? KSP "copied" Orbiter. SR2 "copied" KSP. There are no original thoughts it all comes down to what you prefer.
  7. Irony at its finest, as KSP has no anti-piracy measures at all.
  8. Your concern is quite literally answered in multiple posts in this thread, including at least one on this very page. Desyncs and performance problems are MUCH worse issues, as they don't have simple logistical answers.
  9. *Endgame (typo in title) Spoiler free: I really liked it. The 3 hours flew by but I didn't feel unsatisfied at the end. I've not had time to fully process the movie but it was surprisingly straightforward for what they (the filmmakers) set out to do in it. I think it was well told and easy to follow, which is no small task considering the sheer volume of characters they were juggling. Now for some spoilers. Not a lot, just quick ones off the top of my head.
  10. A long time ago someone told me to bring bread to a large dinner. Like, hundreds of people. I brought bread. He then chastised me for bringing bread, and not French bread. "It's like I asked for paper and you brought sandpaper." "No," I replied, "It's like you wanted sandpaper, and asked for paper." I have no idea why this comic reminds me of this story, or how it relates to tacos most assuredly not being sandwiches, but there you have it
  11. Welcome I hope you get as much joy from the game as we all do. For the right person this little game can be wonderful.
  12. And to be 100% sure, you're using the launchpad and not the runway?
  13. Just yesterday I watched my battery fly away with the lifter as I was trying to launch a probe.
  14. I can't answer that, as I want realistic physics but casual control. I don't want to have to de-saturate my almost-useless reaction wheels, but I want engines to act like real engines do in all reasonable situations, including anything bad like off-center thrust, being useless in atmospheres, breaking when they hit the ground too hard, etc. I too don't see any significant changes to "realism" since 1.0, except maybe CommNet. Textures? Really the textures force you to play more realistically? I guess that's fair, seeing how many complained (and still complain) that the old textures ruined everything for them I guess there have to be those on the other side. I personally never let the old textures keep me from making reasonable ships, any more than I let the new ones keep me from making ridiculous contraptions.
  15. You can also enable the interior nodes of the fairing and mount your payload on the first set. I do this all the time, both to do what you say and also to make the fairings work going straight up.
  16. I'm not nominating it for an academy award. I'm saying I liked it more than any of the prequel or sequel movies. I won't bother pointing out all the problems with them, as people have been doing that for years.
  17. Actually I'd say other than Rogue One it's flat out the best Star Wars movie since Return of the Jedi, and maybe even Empire Strikes Back. But there's no non-clunky way to say that.
  18. I launched a station to Minmus in an early career that has tons of fuel and some docking ports (Why yes it was for a contract how'd you guess?) and I didn't give it any monoprop or line the docking ports up or anything because I figured, anything that will dock to it will have that. Then I launched a little lander and for design purposes (I tell myself) I put the docking port on the side, not the top. And I didn't put RCS on it either. Now I need to dock these things together to fuel up the lander. This may be my final transmission.
  19. With a level 3 tracking station and a tier-5 antenna (RA-100 or 88-88) you should - assuming line-of-sight - never have less than 10% connectivity at Eeloo, with Eeloo on one side of the sun and Kerbin on the other.
  20. Meanwhile I turned mine on to verify it worked, which it didn't, and ended up - after 3 service visits - getting a new thermostat of all things. This assuredly falls more in the "discuss in a general way" than "negative things" though, as the whole thing cost me $75 due to a very prescient decision to get a home warranty. And the new Thermostat was well over $200 retail so hey, there's that. But never fear, that home warranty does not cover the drier and I basically had to learn everything there is to know about drier repair to fix it. I tell myself the nearly $300 I spent on parts (most of them unneeded) was less than I'd have paid someone to come out and do it correctly.
  21. Yeah I know. It just irks me that it's actually quite a fun popcorn flick, which is exactly what Star Wars is supposed to be, and everybody hated it without watching it because reasons.
  22. ...in spite of being the 2nd best Disney Star Wars movie after Rogue One.
  23. The latter. You can also without much loss eject straight from Minmus, so now you're always within 12 days of a transfer window. And you have to define efficiency. It's actually (and slightly) less FUEL efficient, as you use more fuel. It's more COST efficient because any fuel you don't lift off of Kerbin is not only free, but it doesn't need any fuel to get it off Kerbin. It's (far) less TIME efficient, though. You can do a full trip to Duna and back in the time it takes you (the player) to do all these fuel runs, rendezvous and dockings, and ejections at the exact correct time and in the exact correct direction to take full advantage of the Oberth effect at Kerbin. However it can be extremely FUN efficient, which really is all that matters when playing.
  24. A lifetime ago I worked front line phone support for retail store cash registers, talking nontechnical people through anything from a jam in the receipt printer to rudimentary DOS commands. Anyway one day a manager called and had found out that non-manager employees could open the cash drawer without ringing a sale or using a key. He was very concerned and asked me how he was supposed to keep his employees from stealing money. I paused the requisite number of seconds, and then slowly (and I thought helpfully) answered, "...fire them?"
