  1. Rockets, usually with solids on the sides. Anything that doesn't reach orbit is lost because who cares even on Hard mode money is no object. I have no real desire to use planes except in niche situations, and I have no desire to guide spent stages to the ground to save the pittance they are worth. I also have no desire to use a mod to make back that pittance.
  2. I'm not looking for it now but if I recall someone confirmed it.
  3. Welcome to Eve Great mission and great report. I'm on my phone right now but I'll put you on the winner board next time I'm on my computer!
  4. Any chance your original "old" satellites were from a version that didn't have comets? The part may have gained a "detect comets"module in the upgrade, and existing ships wouldn't have the module.
  5. So it's not 7m from the Kerbal? Now I feel even more justified in upping that to 70. Maybe I'll even make it 700.
  6. I'd personally if all behind a bugfix pass. And a balance pass. Getting the list "completely cleared out"? Naaw I want new features to come before forever.
  7. Joke response: You should have made the body of your post "Subj." Actual response: This is a crazily niche request. The amount of work involved getting this to work would be far better spent on pretty much anything else.
  8. ...and welcome to the participants list! I don't recognize those mods in your toolbar, any I should know about? Very impressive entry so far!
  9. If you hit F1 it takes a screenshot in \[your ksp dir]\screenshots\ Otherwise, yeah I know how that works. My record button (F10) used to cycle the heat display, so I'd randomly have it on or not depending on exactly when and how many times I'd started and stopped recording I'm enjoying so far seeing you make choices based on the number of parts and not the mass of the ship. Great examples of, as you so aptly put it *-efficiency. The word "efficiency" really doesn't mean anything on its own without a clarifier. ...a question I've never needed to ask. In my space programs, I don't encounter Ike. Ike encounters me. So far so FANTASTIC. Great read and a great set of missions. Can't wait to see how you tackle Eve with 30 parts. I'm pretty sure my lifters off Kerbin for my Eve ships have more than 30 parts. Basically put a maneuver right after periapsis and set it to burn up almost to the target's orbit. Ideally that will give you encounter markers that you can tweak to match up on the very next pass around. It's been several versions since I've done this and I don't know if it still works exactly that way (and some of my trips to Minmus make me question how they display information these days) but on paper it should work just fine.
  10. Just to let you know I'm aware of this entry and looking forward to reading it, it's just a bit busy around here right now.
  11. Close by, [ and] do it in stock. The only mod I can think of is Targetron, but I don't use it so can't really speak on it.
  12. When placing the SRB make sure your mouse cursor is over the decoupler. The SRB will attach to whatever your mouse is on when you click.
  13. I've said this a few times in the past 8 years. You should be able to make "planning nodes" that function exactly like maneuver nodes, but are on a planet's (or moon's) orbit. With them, it'd be as easy to find a Hohmann transfer as it is to do a rendezvous between 2 ships orbiting Kerbin. As a bonus, the game could show you when and how to burn on your ship to most closely match that node. Learn by doing, plus useful information. Win-win.
  14. I do them with hoppers all the time, especially on airless worlds. Frequently you can hit 2 with one landing if you aim it right.
  15. Actually it was confirmed, by the creator of the game no less
  16. Yeah I would love a full-on balance pass of part prices, masses, and even in a few cases exact dimensions. I'd love this to come hand-in-hand with an actual integration of the part upgrade system that's sat unused (by the base game) for years. I'd also love to be able to set a HUGE initial cost for parts. Like how you can be forced to purchase the part before using it now, only much steeper. I want to have to actually consider whether or not I want that new engine. Part test contracts should give no payout and maybe even cost money, but unlock the part for "free"
  17. I spent exactly that on 4 1MB chips in about 1995. They maxxed out my aging 486-DX and allowed me to put off buying a new computer for a fairly critical year where I was very broke. As it was, $200 was way more than I could really afford but I did it anyway because some game needed it
  18. Kerbal Space Program: The only space program where "get out and push" is a valid option.
  19. I'm using it in my current series on YouTube and so far (all Kerbin anomalies) it's been exactly the same as it was in 1.10 I expect that to continue, up to and including "Don't do the Jool Monolith Mission"
  20. You can swap them by placing the experiment on top of the EVA pack in inventory. Then put the pack in the ship (or wherever) place the experiment, and then put the pack back on. I've not tried it but you could probably just drop the pack on the ground. I found it pretty intuitive, but I deployed the experiments a lot before this so it made sense to me that it would work the same way it did before.
  21. Keep my current YouTube series running all year or until it ends naturally. i.e., don't just stop uploading videos one day with no real explanation or reason other than I got bored.
  22. What @SkyRender said, basically. Most recording software has the option to hide the cursor. If it doesn't hide the KSP cursor it should surely hide the default Windows cursor. Also remember: Run a 5-10 second test before you start big projects. I can't tell you how many times my mic was off, or I was recording a different screen, or my sound was too low. A test run would have shown you before you got to 20 minutes of footage that there was a problem.
