Check your saves backup folder. Probably the easiest way is to wait for him to respawn, then Alt-F12 him to the surface nearby. Or into orbit and jetpack land him... I've not used the landing cheat yet so don't know its capabilities but I've landed from orbit with jetpacks and it's pretty simple.

Arecibo observatory to be demolished
Superfluous J replied to RCgothic's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I hope they can do something new there. There's gotta be SOME good use for a 1/3km dish. In 2019 a friend of mine actually visited there and got me a t-shirt. I'll wear it sadly from now on -
They're very old (1.0.4!) but I put my entire Caveman Normal run on YouTube, including the launches. I'd be a little surprised if everything worked exactly the same but I'd also be surprised if I couldn't get those ships into orbit today. In particular, in the first video I make a super simple orbiter. Here's the full playlist:

What is your favourite ingame music?
Superfluous J replied to Starhelperdude's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I don't know them by name. I like the jaunty VAB music, and absolutely love the title music. -
Let’s talk about KSP 3
Superfluous J replied to T-20000's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
There will be no KSP3. if they go that route, it'll be KSP '23 (or '26, whatever. A year or two after KSP2 comes out) and will just be a roster update and more polygons on the fans in the stands. -
How often do you read someone's signature?
Superfluous J replied to Miguelsgamingch's topic in The Lounge
When I'm curious about their mod or a challenge they did. Or when I'm hiding it because the new forum layout doesn't force signatures to be small anymore. -
Bravo.

KSP 1.11 update
Superfluous J replied to mvb4298's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
The fact that they're bringing Breaking Ground's inventory system into the main game is intriguing indeed. -
theory. "com" = command "mun" = mun (in the tags) "ism"/"ist" = ??? test: try searching for "comhistoricalism" and see if the Vostok pods show up. They have "historical" in their names

Gravity Turn ascent trouble.
Superfluous J replied to antipro's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
This is way out of scope for this question and is also a conversation I've had too many times over the years. I'm bowing out. -
Gravity Turn ascent trouble.
Superfluous J replied to antipro's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Of course not. I'm a bit surprised that the rocket doesn't have aerodynamic instabilities, and I'm sure of the OP continues making rockets like this there will be issues eventually. But more on point, the high TWR is why the mod didn't work as advertised. Gravity Turn is designed to work with efficient rockets. -
Gravity Turn ascent trouble.
Superfluous J replied to antipro's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
2.16 TWR is about 0.9 more than I would usually use, and 0.7 above what most people seem to like. Try to shoot for 1.2-1.5 TWR at launch. (S7 in your image). S6, which I believe is the main stack after you drop the SRBs, should be about the same. I suggest doubling the fuel and seeing what the TWR is. If it's still over 2, add another tank. Repeat until you're between 1.2 and 1.5 TWR. Then see what your vacuum dV is. If it's 3300 or so you're good to go. If it's less, add (smaller) SRBs to give you some extra oomph off the pad. -
Gravity Turn ascent trouble.
Superfluous J replied to antipro's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
You seem to have a very beefy, squat launcher for a very large, light payload. What is the TWR at launch? you would likely benefit from dropping the side boosters and going for a more standard staged launcher, so you keep some mass higher up the rocket while still in atmosphere. -
Weirdest space fact that you know
Superfluous J replied to sir rocket's topic in Science & Spaceflight
In the (very good) Niven book series that starts with The Integral Trees, the people live in a huge gas ring around a star. It's a large enough volume of gas that the people who live there travel from clump of matter to clump of matter via learned orbital mechanics. They even state a mantra, similar to "red sky at morning..." that reads, at least to the best of my memory, "East takes you In, In takes you West, West takes you Out, Out takes you East." "East" and "West" are their words for retrograde and prograde. I may have them backward, as they were arbitrary. But I always loved that mantra. -

Kerb-ernational Space Station
Superfluous J replied to Popestar's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
First you need to know that there is 0 in-game reason to do this, and 0 in-game tools to facilitate it. So as far as the game is concerned, you're doing something sub-optimal and are kind of on your own. That said, the rule-of-cool can make this fun anyway (or even because it's outside the norm) Why do you want a circular section? Do you want to simulate some specific ship, or space station, or something else? -
Only when not he's not being compared to Edison.

My explanation of ''Tic Tac'' UFO's
Superfluous J replied to Serenity's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Same goes for "ET" ET means Extra-Terrestrial. i.e., from outside the Earth and its atmosphere. Maybe, MAYBE you could consider it outside of Earth's gravity. So if an asteroid burns up in the atmosphere, you could say "Did you see that ET UFO explode last night?" -
Weirdest space fact that you know
Superfluous J replied to sir rocket's topic in Science & Spaceflight
That Relativity is actually how the Universe works. It'd be so simple if it was just that light moved different speeds but no, instead time works differently based on how fast you're moving and accelerating. -
I have, but I've not heard many - or possibly any - variations on it. I don't think I'd even have made the connection if you'd used "Grandma" in your original statement, it was different enough from the common phrase.
