@MatterBeam So the OP shows latest version as v1.0, but SpaceDock only shows v0.9...?? Was v1.0 the packs you said you removed?

[Windows/KSP 1.1] Kerbal Config Editor v1.1 Release
Stone Blue replied to IRnifty's topic in KSP1 Tools and Applications
@IRnifty The OP lists v1.0.4 as the latest 1.0+ compatable version, yet both download links seem to only have v1.0.3 listed? -
You installed the actual KW mod AND the KW Community fixes for 1.0.5? They are two separate mods, but you need both together...

I think my issue is something to do with the images themselves. I'm not even sure what I did to get them to work...lol But now its working, and its awesome... PS- this is on 1.0.5, both in Windows & Linux

[1.2] [2016-10-28] Haystack Continued (v0.5.2.1)
Stone Blue replied to Qberticus's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Good to know!.. I for one still consider this as one of my base, "must-install" mods for every install of KSP I have/use/make... -
Hmmm... Maybe Extraplanetary Launchpads or SimpleConstruction would work??

64-bit hack/workaround? [Resolved, thanks!]
Stone Blue replied to Ninjadude501Alt's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Yes, there is.... Its called Linux.... And its VERY stable... You can try Malah's QuickGoTo to see if that helps prolong gameplay time... At the very least, you will only have to sit thru ONE scene change, instead of TWO everytime you want to switch... -
Is that for a ground station?.... You could use HyperEdit or VesselMover to place it...

[1.12.x] Docking Sounds!! v2.1.13 (1/30/2023)
Stone Blue replied to tg626's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Yes, I would NOT host it on SpaceDock, or Curse, or Git... tg626 has other mods also... Its kinda too soon to fork, or redux this mod... And before doing ANYTHING with a mod youre not affiliated with, you should ALWAYS try to contact the mod dev directly thru PM or email...Even if they havent been around for EVER... I just learned that the hard way...- 137 replies

[1.1]Hullcam VDS - mod adopted by linuxgamer
Stone Blue replied to Albert VDS's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
WoW.... And I thought "I" was the only one who believes this... YEEE-aaayyy!!.. I'm not alone... Although I almost think the same about the 64x hack...lol ACtually, you're confusing the OS and the game... If you have a 32bit OS, you can ONLY run 32bit programs... If you have a 64bit OS, you can run BOTH 32bit AND 64 bit programs. KSP was originally designed as a 32bit program... Then IIRC KSP v0.24 introduced the first 64bit version of the game... However, it was a flop, due to the limitations of the Unity game engine, so Squad dropped it and KSP is back to only having a 32bit version... What people refer to the "64bit workaround", or "64bit hack", or just "64bit", is just that: a hack that (I believe) uses the failed 64bit version, to get around some of the limitations... It can be unstable, and if you throw in lots of mods (which is the whole point why people use it), then you are multiplying the instability, AND you have to hack some of the mods ALSO to work with the hack.... So people dont really want to spend a lot of time helping people to troubleshoot these types of game installs... Thats why you'll see people ask what version of KSP, or OS they are using... Then to add to the confusion, there IS a working 32bit AND 64bit KSP version for Linux users... -
Yes. It was a division of a big, well known elctronics corporation. The company has aerospace, and industrial and commercial divisions. The division I worked for makes military mobile and personal communications systems. So, yes, they get tested for water-resistance, severe vibration effects, and even get baked in huge ovens at a couple hundred degrees for a couple days...

This is good advice. Another, is to keep those desiccant packages that come in new items, storing them in a Ziploc. These work MUCH better than rice. Rice can actually leave starchy residue, as it absorbs moisture. It also doesnt work as well as silica. Well, yes, but my point was that once an item works fine right afterward, your odds of future failure due to this specific incident will probably be almost nil.

[1.1.2] Kerbin-Side (v1.1.0) & Supplements
Stone Blue replied to AlphaAsh's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Thanx. I was just wondering if Oceania would work if I converted it for my own use... Its probably the one pack I used most with KerbinSide, and I've been missing it... I had read back on some of his posts here, and on other threads, and it seems he's really busy with RL...- 2,488 replies

As someone who worked in a major manufacturing facility, making circuit boards, I can tell you that electronic components are not as vulnerable to damage spills or submersion. Partially completed circuit board assemblies, and even fully completed assemblies, actually get submerged in a slightly caustic "wash", and then thru a rinse cycle in a large, long, conveyer-type "washing machine"... Although there are now smaller, newer machines, for smaller batches of boards, that resemble dishwashers... There ARE certain parts in a finished electronics device that wont handle getting wet, even in a non-powered state... But with advances in miniaturization of parts, those parts are becoming fewer and fewer... If a device gets wet, the first thing to do is to remove the power source. HOPEFULLY, the device was not fully powered up... Then as people have already stated, take it apart as much as possible without voiding warranties, or going beyond your abilities... Then LET IT AIR DRY... NO HAIR DRYERS or HEAT... let it dry at room temps, in a relatively low humidity... Thats it... Either it will be good to go, or it wont... If not, its likely something shorted when it got wet... If it powers up after being closed up and powered, then you likely will not suffer further damage... Granted, spilling coffee, or things that will be sticky, or contain acids (coffee, orange juice, etc...) MAY cause some corrosion, or may gum up moving parts or plugs, that could cause issues or failures, but thats where ADDING more clean water and alcohol, and GENTLY cleaning the area with a soft toothbrush, can actually HELP the situation... But most electronic components now a days can easily survive submersion.... I have inherited quite a few old used PCs over the years... Most were EXTREMELY filthy, or coated with nicotene from smokers, and a few spills on keyboards/mice and front panels... I stripped EVERYTHING down, even power supplies, and WASHED everything in the kitchen sink with soapy water and a toothbrush... I have NEVER had a failure that can be attributed to washing boards and components....

[1.1.2] Kerbin-Side (v1.1.0) & Supplements
Stone Blue replied to AlphaAsh's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
@AlphaAsh I've been missing the Odyssey as well, and wondering what happened...Thanx... As far as the above goes, would it be as simple as converting to .dds, or is it more involved than that? A simple answer would suffice, no need to go into details... I dont want to rock any boats... lol- 2,488 replies

Congrats to the SpaceDock Team, on hitting 400 hosted mods, a small milestone, while only being in existence for just over 5 weeks... 400 mods is just a bit over 1/3 of what KerbalStuff hosted in its 20 month runtime... Excellent job, people!... THANK YOU!!

[1.2.2] B9 Aerospace | Release 6.2.1 (Old Thread)
Stone Blue replied to bac9's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
@blowfish What source files would you need, and what version of B9 would they need to be from? I have some older versions, which have some source files in them...??? I'm pretty sure these were actual releases, though, and NOT masters, so they may not have the files you would need?- 4,460 replies

[1.1][1.1-1] Apr-19-2016 Dynamic Texture Loader
Stone Blue replied to rbray89's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Ahhh... Maybe THATS why I've only seen 100~120MB RAM savings on the three or four times I've used it... ??? -
If anything then, maybe the Radial Attachment Point could be made to work...Its the closest part model to a docking port... ???
-
Huh... You've got a few mods I dont think I've heard of before...At least I dont recognize them by the folder names... I see your ModuleManager is out of date... Try replacing it with the latest 2.6.18 stable... Also, if you look at the top of the output_log.txt thats in the KSP_Data folder, you should see where it lists the % of RAM used... It may be you are riding the razor's edge with RAM, and once you get a couple screen changes (scene changes cause memory leaks that build up), it may be pushing you over the edge into crashing... You can also try Malah's QuickGoTo mod, to decrease the number of scene changes you have to jump thru...
