[1.1][1.1-1] Apr-19-2016 Dynamic Texture Loader
Stone Blue replied to rbray89's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I guess I should have read the above posts before installing DTL yesterday...lol I'm also getting game crashes, anywhere from immediately after starting game load, to making it all the way to the editor, and crashing upon loading a stock craft. This is with completely stock 1.1, but also I'm forcing DirectX 11, if that helps at all... -

[1.3.1] Aviation Lights v3.14 [use MOARdV's version instead!]
Stone Blue replied to BigNose's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Just an FYI for anyone interested, I havent "officially" posted it yet, but the DeadSkins for AviationLights Continued version 1.4b did not need any changes for 1.1 compatability.... So version 1.4b is KSP fully v1.0 to v1.1 compatible- 799 replies

I dont know if any one else noticed, but with 1.1, if you DONT want KSP to run in the background if you switch windows, now the game also DOES NOT LOAD, while focusing on a different window... So, so much for surfing the web, or playing MS Solitaire while it takes 15 mins for your heavily modded install to load. Either you have to stay focused on the loading screen, and go do something NOT on your computer while you wait, OR you HAVE to have KSP run in the background if you switch windows during gameplay, OR you have to go into the Settings menu EVERY time you start your game, AND EVERY time before you CLOSE your game to switch the setting... Squad, if possible, PLEASE make the Simulate in Background setting ONLY affect gameplay, and NOT game loading like it always has been pre-1.1...

WooHoo!!... It looks like this update also worx in 1.0.5... I havent play tested it yet, but the parts load and connect properly in the editor. Thanx for fixing the nodes on the cargo parts... One thing I'm not sure of, tho... On the toroidal and toroidal base parts: do you use just one hub part, then the toroidal tank, then ANOTHER hub part, (to make like a "sandwich", or do you just need one hub part?)... I ask, because if you sandwich them using hub-tank-hub, you seem to get overlap & z-fighting between the hub parts... A minor issue to be sure... Anyway, again THANK YOU, taniwha, for this...

I cant remember the exact method, but did you try using the local address for the computer KSP is running on, and NOT 127.0.0.1, on your other devices? And as far as browser goes, Sorry, I havent poked IE with a 10ft stick in almost 20 years... (or ANY Microsoft web-related product, for that matter) IIRC, when I was first attempting setup, I disconnected my router hardline (WAN) from the internet, then I dropped all firewalls and antivirus.... Once I got everything talking, I restarted my firewall/antivirus, and addressed any rules or settings that interfered...

For ME, I delete the RCS also... And I tried to delete the KabinKraziness .dll, but then AmpYear itself doesnt seem to work? EDIT: @JPLRepo I for one think the reserve battereis should stay... ESPECIALLY if they will be integrated with the way your new EPS system works... ie have the craft go into EPS as soon as regular batteries are drained, and switch to the reserves at that time...???

Like other have said, these packs have not been updated in so long, and have required community fixes & hacks to get them to work... Hopefully 1.1 will finally kill them off, unless Bobcat, CleverWalrus, or SOMEOEN claims them all and really does some major work with them. But, to answer your question if you still want them for personal use, this wiki section explains how to make the necessary changes for the nodes. Basically, you need to go into each part's .cfg file, and just change the "polarity" on the 5th variable in the node attachment string... That would be " angy " Usually, top needs to be blank for positive, ie " 1.0 ", and bottom needs to be negative, ie " -1.0 " EDIT: Dont mess with the number... Just switch the dash

Yes, and I can never get that to work... And I dont want to have to have to create a bunch of accounts on several websites to host different stuff... And another thing- I STILL find it a PIA to edit/delete quotes... I also find it hard to make a post with a tablet touchscreen, or a laptop touchpad... Quite often the window for my post alone, is bigger than the available screenspace, and trying to scroll thru the post, I end up scrolling the whole page, or scrolling the page, i end up just scrolling thru the post, or neither moves at all. I dont care what anyone says, I find this forum software a PIA to use, and its the worst I've ever seen, and I've been on MANY forums over 20 years.

I STILL have not been able to figure out how to post a SINGLE pic hosted on imgur. If I have only ONE pic I want to share, I have to grab another KSP-unrelated pic, just to add to it, so I can make an imgur "album", and post THAT... What a PIA

All you can do, is try to reach him directly, and get permission. Beyond that, unfortuntaely, that mod is dead... Dead... as in D-E-D...DEAD...

Speaking of the bar @5thHorseman mentioned, it's a great feature... HOWEVER, I have to be negative about one point: PLEASE turn off the "float" feature.... I am on a laptop, and dont have much screen real-estate...I also dont need it to be ever-present... Its not like it will be needed THAT much... I think leaving it firmly attached to just the top of the page, and letting it scroll away would be enough. But to whoever is playing with the forum softwareplaying with settings & stuff, to customize and change it up (maybe you, @KasperVld ?), I Thank You.

@funkcanna You could maybe request those features here: ABookCase Orbital Reference System

EXACT STOCK PART SIZES (ALL DIMENSIONS)

Might this help? Jeb's Big Stick -
This ^^ And also, sometimes there is a really great mod, or few, that did not get updated and become abandoned, that you still want to play... Good examples would be B9 & KW Rocketry... I know KW last official version was for 1.0.2, and it didnt get updated for 1.0.4/.05, and I think B9 still worked in 1.0.2 also...

Let's put this in a nicer, less egotistic way...
Stone Blue replied to Matuchkin's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
@linuxgurugamer Thank you for that clear and thorough explanation. Now, I can finalize the point of my post: Based on linux's opinion, (and if this is the general consesus of the majority of modmakers), then it kind of blows away Matuchkin's original concern that important, popular mods will just go away if the original author makes it so. While the mod may not continue in its original form, (I mean does a mod REALLY continue in its original form, even if it IS handed over to a new maintainer, who will most likely put their OWN twist/changes into new versions?), a popular, must-have mod dropped, REGARDLESS of license, by its author, can and most likely would be replicated in at least idea... An example was ISA Mapsat... It was unique, pre-cursor to SCANsat... It kind of got left in limbo (and even tho it had an open license, and I could be wrong about the following part), and yet the idea was picked up by another, and out of that came SCANsat... ( I dont recall whether any of the ISA Mapsat code was used for SCANsat, but I think there were large differences between the mods) My point is, even in the worst case scenario, the torch, the IDEA, at least, of a deceased mod can be picked up by another, and another mod that fills the void of the original is available to all, and there is much rejoicing in the community. So those that are worried about the disappearance of their favorite, MUST have mod... Dont Worry, Be Happy... If it was that great a mod, it WILL be replaced... Somehow.. -
Reading back thru the thread since I last posted, I just want to make it clear: I NEVER SUGGESTED MODMAKERS NOT RELEASE PRE-1.1 BUILDS, NOR NOT ADVERTISE THEM ^ This was my point ^ Go ahead and CONCURRENTLY offer, and promote (to a minor extent), pre-1.1 releases. Even go ahead and stop SUPPORT of the old, 1.0.5 version... But at least leave it there, until an OFFICIAL, FULL, STABLE release comes from Squad. With the pre-Release, I feel that 1.1 should not have been as boldly, or as actively advertised as some modders have done, with complete removal of links, or even mention of 1.0.5... I feel (and we all know opinions are like, you know, everyone HAS one) that it would be awesome if there was always a month or two of overlap, to give those holdouts a chance to grab the last, latest mod version for the "outgoing" KSP version, AND time for the new mod version to get the bugs & kinks worked out of it, as well as Squad having time to kill any missed major bugs in the "incoming" KSP release. And 1.0.5, WHICH, whether modmakers will admit or not, is STILL the CURRENT, VALID, STABLE, SUPPORTED release of KSP, which is available to 100% of users, where the pre-1.1 is only available to a select group of Steam users ONLY. I think completely switching over to pre-1.1 before a FULL, STABLE, release of 1.1, available to ALL players is released, is a dis-service to the community. AND, before a modmaker says its their sole right to do so, I will vehemently AGREE with you, and defend your right to say that it is your sole right to do that... HOWEVER, that doesnt mean that it isnt a bad move, and when it puts a bad taste in peoples mouths, who once respected you, and people start posting bug issues and incompatabilities, and whining and complaining things dont work, and it becomes standard practice for a mod to have to start every reply to a complaint with "Are you using the old 1.0.5 version, (which I have thrown away all mention of/and links to), or the pre-1.1 version?", then I say "You get what's coming to you, after all it was your decision and your right to decide what to do with your mod"
