  1. Huh. Didn't notice that in any of the videos. That looks more like an aliasing problem than the UI being pixelated. Though, they were all running x8 anti-aliasing, so idk.
  2. There's no good reason not to have pixelated icons. You are entitled to your opinion though. Maybe wait until you play the game instead of jumping to conclusions though. Youtube's compression system is very bad and can make pixelated stuff look worse than it should look.
  3. KSP is very much a niche game. It's a spaceflight simulator. How many spaceflight simulators exist in the world? The answer you can count on two hands. KSP 1, KSP 2, Orbiter, Space Engine, Simple rockets 1, Simple rockets 2, reentry, mercury go for flight, and maybe one or two others. So, in total, about 8 games. 8 games. That's a far cry from other genres. There are millions of FPS, millions of racing sims, millions of flight sims, millions of city builder games, cooking, factory management, tycoon management, so and on forth. Every genre is over saturated with games, except one genre. Spaceflight sims. KSP 1 and 2 are niche games. The tutorials aren't talking down to anyone, they're explaining concepts, very complex concepts, in a way that kids can understand. There's nothing wrong with that. If you don't like the in-game tutorials, go watch a youtuber's guide. It's that simple.
  4. I disagree, I think they're fine. Don't hurt my eyes. I think they should keep the pixelated look. It pays homage to KSP 1 and it looks more 'spacey'
  5. I'm pretty sure the voice is autotuned and not some "Tween sounding brat" like you put it. The voice isn't condescending at all imo. As for adults explaining in adult ways, you do realize that tons of kids play KSP as well, right? Having a more kid friendly voice is best for the tutorials. Yes, they do know their audience, and they also know the audience they are targeting. That being both adults AND kids. If you don't like the tutorials, don't watch/listen to them. That simple. You're making a big deal out of something so little. Honestly, I agree with @intelliCom and I think it is worth the $50 bucks they are charging. If they were literally just making KSP 1 but better, no colonies, no interstellar, etc, I would still be happy paying the $50 bucks for EA, because the game will be $60 or $70 at launch. That's a $10 to $20 discount, and that's not even including tax, which would add another $5 to $20 bucks. Why would I be happy paying a premium for EA? Because KSP 2 is a better game than KSP 1, even with none of the promised features. It's no longer a shoe box held together by duct tape and rubber bands. It's an actual game instead of some hobby project that some amateur started. There are actual professionals behind KSP 2. That alone merits a premium price, imo. Plus, with KSP 2 being professionally made, that means that we get a lot more in terms of modding. Better modding alone is to be worth $50. Because now modders don't have to implement work arounds or hacks. They can literally go ham on KSP 2 without holding back. Also, a theory as to why the price is so high is because Take Two wants their money, and they want it now. It is rumored that they are threatening to pull the plug on the project unless it launches and starts making money. Now, this is only a theory/rumor, so don't take it as fact. But if this were true, what would you want? KSP 2 to charge $30 bucks for EA and then have its plug pulled because Take Two didn't like the low price, or... would you rather pay a premium now, and receive a better product that will live on for years to come? Think about it.
  6. Expedition IE - August 22nd, 1989 Flown by MRK atop an Ariane 44L In August of 1989, ESA launched its first fully crewed MRK, the destination, SISS. MRK carried 2 British Astronauts, 1 French Astronaut and 1 Italian astronaut to SISS. (No real big story this time as it's just a crew launch, that and I'm tired, can't think of a story. If anyone wants to create a story for this launch, please, go ahead! I'll edit it in to this post) Full album: Imgur: The magic of the Internet
  7. It was mentioned in one or two videos that the reentry system was turned off, and the reentry effects were also turned off. They do exist, the build the content creators played just didn't have them turned on.
  8. A fun little hype waiting game. Each post = 1 m/s 5,004 posts = 5,004 m/s @Stephensan Gave a little math quiz I'm trying to figure out.
  9. I think I understand... 15 mins * 60 secs = 900 seconds / 4,999 fames = 0.18 FPS.... 4,999 m/s
  10. https://i.pinimg.com/736x/cf/ba/16/cfba166135deb8ca2d21c2c2790c9ea2--programming-humor-computer-programming.jpg Hmm... Still don't understand... 4,993 / 60 = 83.22 FPS ? 4,993 * (15*60) = 4,483,700 / 60 = 74,895 fps ? I seriously don't know what you're getting at... sorry. 4,993 m/s
  11. This is flippin hilarious to me! I hope I encounter this bug a few times before its gone. Just imagining all the parts hitting the floor like a kid dumping legos is the funniest bug I never thought I'd hear of. Not entirely sure what you mean by this. 4,989 m/s.
  12. Noodle rockets still exist in KSP 1 if you forget struts and autostruts. The 'feature' never left. 4,984 m/s.
  13. Each posts adds a meter per second of speed. Currently we are at 4,981 m/s.
  14. How long until someone makes a plane that requires BOTH runways to take off? I give it... a week... maybe two. And by both, I literally mean the aircraft is so wide the left wheels are on the left runway and vice versa for the right.
  15. I LOVE how wide the runway is now compared to the old one. It looks to be like 1.5 to 2 times wider. Which is really great for us folks that like to make big replica planes or the folks that make super long and wide SSTOs. Matt has a video every day of the week. I'm sure a few others do as well.
  16. I'm going to guess you mean annual or bi-annual releases, if which case, no. KSP is not turning into COD or Pokemon. The game is releasing into Early Access, which means it is incomplete, but will slowly be completed in the coming year or so.
  17. Good ole struts. Someone add a mod to make the grass flammable... for "Science"
  18. I think he was using LRBs not SRBs, unless Intercept added modular SRBs or I misread the tank name as being a fuel tank. (Haven't seen Tim's video in full yet, just watched a 5 second clip of the rocket launch, so please excuse me)
  19. Yikes, I'm still on Matt Lowne's video and he has descent FPS... But still, FPS can't be considered a "Downgrade" for a game that's literally in Early Access. Yes, it's kind of worrying, but come on, really? It's literally the first version available to the public. KSP 1 went through FPS hardship too. Let's just hold our pitchforks and torches for now, please.
  20. Downgrade? You're kidding right? The parts look better, the KSC looks better, the planets look way better. We got new parts. Where's the downgrade? I genuinely am baffled how you can call KSP 2 a downgrade.
  21. As far as we know, no one has copies. All footage came from the insider event, is the theory.
  22. I doubt Intercept reached out and said: "You know what, we're going to allow the NDA to drop Monday at 8AM CST." in response to the bad press. I'm not a betting man, but if I were, I would bet that Monday at 8AM CST was always the NDA drop time. I believe Matt is doing another troll/tease and will be releasing KSP 2 videos throughout the week. After all, he did do that troll with discord where he set his status to "Playing Kerbal Space Program 2."
  23. @Rossinero The devs at Intercept Games are a group of highly passionate people. They want nothing but the best for KSP 2 and the KSP community as a whole. I don't think you have to worry about Red Shell. I for one and not worried about it. If Take Two wanted to put Red Shell back into KSP 1, they would have, but they haven't. It's been gone from KSP 1 for years now. Do you really think they'd try to sneak it into KSP 2 after all the backlash? I mean, the community out right decided to boycott the game, not playing it. Heck, I think some modders took down their mods in protest. The community didn't take no for an answer. They got what they wanted in the end, and Take Two learned not to peeve us off. Because KSP 1 is a rare game. It's a game passed around by the community. Not by ads or commericals or anything like that. It's passed on by the people. And if the people decide to tell people not to buy it, well then things are bad for Take Two. Take Two can't afford to make the same mistake twice, because if they do, KSP 2 will fail.
