The (Now Infamous) Kerbal Spaceport Disscussion Thread

Again, @nightingale has mentioned this already: it doesn't matter wether you use Toolbar, or have it installed. What matters is that the mod in question supports it. You could remove CC and you would probably not see any more symptoms, and guess 'well, it was CC'. But the faulty code will still be on the mod, waiting to be exposed again by some other future mod. So, mods (not CC) need the fix... ...which seems like it's not going to be a problem for long, here

Hey, I didn't know this thread existed! I've been wanting to get a new rig for some time. I've had a laptop since, forever - well, not the same one, but I haven't had a desktop in I don't even - and I want to change that. (well, in fact I want to build a simulator cockpit eventually, but that's a different thread...) Looking around this thread, the main difference I see between rigs you're suggesting and/or asking about is that you're mostly using i5's/i7's, while I was planning on going with a cheaper AMD (a 4GHZ FX-8350, 8MB octa goes for slightly less than R$ 800; for that same price the best Intel I can get my hands on is a 3.10GHZ i5 4440, 6MB quad. Any thoughts on that? That's my only major doubt so far (well, that and the same existential dread @Randazzo felt before buying his...)

Paintbrush is even older, dude, they just call it "Paint" these days! And, yea, I used it when it was called 'Paintbrush'... And, 6/10. I know you, but I don't know you

I miss VesselView, it added a lot of immersion and utility to RPM. But, while it hasn't been updated, this one has:

Oh, but it's me! Is @Veeltch around?

7/10 Yep, I remember the Soyuz rocket and the MS Paint planet. How old are you, by the way? I'm the only other person I've seen in years mentioning "MS Paint"

[1.10.1+] Contract Configurator [v1.30.5] [2020-10-05]
monstah replied to nightingale's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
So far, Field Research, Anomaly Surveyor, Spacetux pack and Kerbin Space Station seem to be doing just fine (seriously, one of the best mods this game has) oh, and I just noticed the settings are on the debug window rather than the app - beyootiful! Can I make a suggestion tho? Seeing contracts you still don't have access to is bugging me, specially because of Anomaly Surveyor - it's kinda like wathcing a movie with spoilers on the cover. Could that be turned off from the settings?- 5,206 replies

I got myself this one, used. I think I got what i paid for: it wasn't expensive, and it isn't the best, but it's definitely not a bad one either. The head is a little loose (but then, it was used, although it's in good condition apart from that), you can rotate the stick for roll control, the throttle and stick can be separated into two parts (but with a connecting cord around 50cm, which I pass behind my laptop), and the throttle has buttons on it. My only complain about it is the hat switch: it's an 8-position rather than analogue, and if you're using any joystick remapping you can't get the hat to work on KSP. Oh, I forgot, there's another analogue behind the throttle you can use for left-right translation with your index and middle fingers (or for rover steering, since driving around on a stick is weird, but you'll probably need a mod to configure rover controls differently from rockets), kinda like the triggers on a PS3 controller. Alright, just remembered another thing I don't like a lot about it: the throttle has a 'lock' right in the middle. You know, like mouse scroll wheels have those 'ticks'? So, there's a single one there. Probably because, even tho we think of the throttle as a neutral - positive number, joystick axes usually go negative - neutral - positive, so the tick is where neutral would be. But really, I think it's a good enough joystick, specially if you want a cheaper one (there are cheaper ones, but those look like they are bad).

Amusingly enough, both (I'm laughing my ass off, here)
-
My thoughts.

I can relate to that, but #s 2 and 5 need only a regular joystick (even a simple 2-axis one w/ throttle), and camera work is not my favourite part of playing KSP, so #s 3 and 4 don't sell me the product, either. Docking could be the game changer, but my joystick already has enough DOF for that and it's sitting gathering dust... (I love your signature, BTW) ..which is a great mod, I've used it a lot and I endorse it. But like I said, 'aim here' is a stock docking cam... and, actually, I like the view better. You see the ship approaching, and it's awesome. Really, you should try it (in case you haven't already, I mean. I'm not telling you how you should play your game, but I suggest you at least try a few times and maybe be amazed as I am ). I'd most definitely download that! Not just removing them, but organizing in collapsible tabs would be nice, too. BURN THEM IN HELL
