  1. Like I said some time ago, your word on that Reddit topic was quite a relief for me. Your word here is even more.
  2. A few minutes ago there was this comment by @RoverDude. I kinda wish he'd said something here, but I'll take his word there. Kind of a relief, really
  3. I have the highest regards to Neil Tyson (and I've heard many times him replying to someone calling him "Dr" with "Call me NEIL!"), but I find a site about a game that says nothing about said game, yet uses the name "Dr. Neil Tyson" some 15 hundred times in a single page a little off putting
  4. It's in my nature to expect the worse, but I'll try and see it as you do. Hope you're right.
  5. Still, this is an active time on the forum, and none of them are. Some of them popped online for a while, but none of them had anything to say until now.
  6. That only makes sense if you presume something bad happened in there (which is kinda my point). Otherwise it's just goodbye, I see no problem doing it on a SQUAD-managed forum.
  7. I thought you'd be out for a while, but apparently news already got to you, eh? :(

  8. I find the timing strange and terrible, too. You're right on the order of events there. Why would they leak the information before the announcement of the release date, and an official announcement of their leaving? And while I know Squad is known for letting Reddit know anything before the forums, this was not a Squad post, but a post by the former devs. Why didn't they post here instead? In fact, none of them have posted anything since. @Arsonide, @taniwha, @NathanKell, @sarbian, @Romfarer, @Porkjet and @Mu were online since then, but they haven't said anything (granted, Mu has barely said anything ever...). @Claw hasn't even been around since. That's what worries me the most. Is it something so bad they felt like leaving? I see what you did there, and you are absolutely right. I'll also take note they're all still marked as "Squad Staff" on the forum.
  9. Anyway, there isn't anything in this conversation to make me happy (unless any of the aforementioned former devs jumps in and gives us some solace). My wife's rewatching Gilmore Girls for the nth time, I'm gonna pretend to pay attention to that instead Fly safe o7
  10. You're right there. I forget Squad's origins are separate from KSP. What I meant was KSP's dev/production team.
  11. That, it does. Or they got to know Squad post-Harvester and quit themselves? Wild guesses are all I have here.
  12. Only strange part is where they leave their paid jobs with access to hard-code and return to unpaid moddom o_O (edit: not the only, the other strange part here is my double post)
  13. Definetely, but I'm not getting into that, same way I don't discuss politics at work. It's just a lousy can of worms and I already paid for this game some good 3 years ago, anyway. I'm just sad that I was finally getting really satisfied with the game, and all my complaints seemed like they would be a thing of the past
  14. Wait, them all?? Crap, map. Thank you, guys. For some of you it was a brief moment, for others not, but you were all great devs.
  15. Ah, I share that feeling. Countless projects have I given up on once the magic of discovery and invention is gone, and left is just the dull work that has to be done. That's something you and I both need to work on, in my opinion
  16. Fertilizer is a USI resource, not a stock one, so I guess not
  17. 5/10 Calvin! Not seen you much outside of games, tho
  18. You may have gone through some rough times, but this made me happy to read it. Didn't it make you happy to write it? Have you ever tried finding some academic subject you can read and research into by yourself? Myself, I am interested in neural networks. There is just a lot to read out there, being published every single day. And there are lots of tools around now which let you play around for yourself. That might not be your thing, but I bet there are lots of areas out there that are ripe with development, and with lots of opportunity. Even if you never get to develop anything for yourself, just the reading and experimenting and following on the footsteps of people who are very smart, and likely also felt dumbened from time to time (and who are in lots of cases the same age as you and I) can be pretty rewarding.
  19. (I wish the poll results were tracked as a function of time. Their evolution is amazing, like a horse track XD)
