  4. Hey, everyone! Some may have noticed I've been away. Well, first, I'm OK! Been busy some times, not so busy other times, lurking on the forums eventually, but mostly really offline. Now, the thing is, I will probably stay away for while longer, still. Life stuff happening (nothing to worry about, just... stuff), and not much interest in KSP at the moment.

So... later, everyone! Cheers to all, and hope we meet again sooner than later! Drop me a PM any time, I'll get notifications for those.

  5. @5thHorseman what a surprise, I'd always figured you were in the 30 somethings crowd. Turning 33 here, in a couple months. @Vanamonde You're 85, dude. Don't lie.
  6. Oh, great. I thought I was the only one still crapping out my launches after thousands of hours of play...
  7. Oh, hi! Long time no see, busy these days.

(I'm substituting my manager today. Grumble, grumble.)

Completely unrelated, but it still hasn't sunk in that mankind can presently detect gravity waves.

Hello, and welcome! Hope we see ya often.
  9. Prospector 1 Mission Report: https://imgur.com/a/PmEFj Bottom line: lots of funds spent, a fully refueled space debris depot, an orbital scan done and barely enough science to justify the expenditure.

  11. Most of the RPG blogs I read have just been blocked on my work's firewall.

I wouldn't be so damn angry if I hadn't, in my job interview, asked specifically about the company's browsing policy.

  12. Oh, you'll get it for free! Took me a while to find a quote on that, but here:
  13. What?? I mean, I loved it back when it was on, but I tried re-watching it lately, and even though I know the writing is very, very good, I couldn't stand the first episodes' acting and production... But then again, my favorite TV show, all things considered, was The X-Files... and we all know how that turned out in the end, eh? In fact, I did re-watch it, entirely, twice in the last 5 years. The first time I did, I realized it got so bad near the end that, when it aired, I had completely given up on its last seasons, only watching the series finale, and really didn't miss much. And the reboot? Blech. Hey, I am re-watching that currently, just got to the last season! It's so good! That one, sadly, I'm too young to have watched it originally, then when I got interested I figured I had to watch from the beginning, and there's just too damn much so I never got around to it. I tried once, but I don't think I started from a good place: Netflix had (or has?) one cycle of the series, which starts with a Space Titanic episode, the only one I've watched. Perhaps it's that particular Doctor (David Tennant, I like that actor!), or the storytelling of that particular episode, but I didn't like what I watched: from what I remember, it felt like a disconnected monster-of-the-week-or-whatever-it's-called-in-Doctor-Who-parlance, didn't really go anywhere, didn't seem to have meaningful character arcs, and concluded in an unhappy ending that didn't seem to leave much to segue into the next episodes. I'm still interested in it, tho. Can anyone suggest some place in the timeline to start watching?
  14. Yeah, I don't know where you heard that, but considering there's a moderator by username @Dman979 , that is clearly wrong information. Hell, as a matter of fact, all usernames here contain alpha-numeric characters
  15. Last night I played KSP on my wife's new laptop, and... HOT DAYUM! Loading times? Less than a minute, Chatterer, cloud textures and all. FPS? Threw in EVE, full-res textures, high-res screen, anti-aliasing, "fantastic" render quality, floor effects... the sucker didn't even notice.

Now, there's two caveats. One, it's her laptop, and she hates me playing KSP. Second, I've hated MacOS for the past.. oh, twenty years? I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm not a Windows fanboy or anything. I don't think there's a single OS out there that pleases me, but MacOS is just specially arrogant in how it treats us as 3-year-olds.

do need a new computer, tho. Seriously, I'd never enjoyed myself so much playing this game instead of angrily growling at my computer.

My sister has this amazing laptop with better game specs than mine, she never plays any games. That great GPU for nothing...
