blackheart612
@CodatheSpaceFox Only specialized engines capable of breathing in thin atmosphere can function in Duna, or else it won't combust. The props aren't one of them. I haven't tested on Eve yet though, but I suspect it will most likely work on Laythe alone. Regarding the parts, the mod is growing a lil bit and I want people to be able to trim parts they don't want if they want to keep it small. So if you want some engines cut, you can do em through their timelines in the GameData folder of AP+
CodatheSpaceFox
Thanks for the response, once I realized they were all liquidfuel engines I put together the need of oxygen for combustion. The engines are all beautiful and a whole lot of fun for some of my previously small jet flown planes, and resolves a lot of issues with things like small seaplanes that I've taken an interest in for... no true reason to my career right now. tetryds
So, small feedback on the Spud that may apply to other engines. Their thrust curve drops too sharply when reaching around 54m/s, and cuts off right before that meaning that almost every airplane flies at the same top speed. It would be interesting if the curve was not as sharp, this way well designed planes will be able to cruise at a slightly higher speed. If other engines have a curve like this I recommend that they also get softened somewhat.
blackheart612
@tetryds I cut them off because they were going too fast for early planes. And all of early engines have the same velCurve. Gonna have to make it better on next release. For now, it's a rough limitation of early engines.
tetryds
Okay, the velocity is fine, I just meant that they have a quite high throttle right before they cutoff, so every airplane gets capped by it equally. Thanks for noting that By the way, if you want a suggestion, I am missing better cockpits so bad, especially ww1/2 ones.
Goddess Bhavani
I wouldn't mind to help balance the early engines. I am a big fan of "primitive" planes and have helped a bit to balance KAX props a long time ago. Background: Spent many years playing prop sims including IL-2 and Aces of the Pacific (oh my thats ancient). Familiar with most generic historical aircraft performance. Guest
Can you make a Junkers Jumo 004 B-1 turbojet? It was used on the Me-262.

blackheart612
@tetryds Well, cockpits. I seem to always avoid them unconsciously ever since a project got me stuck on airlocks I'm trying me best to learn them though. @pandoras kitten Well, Tanner Rawlings is my config maker, though he certainly seems to have been busy for a while, try talking to him if he needs help. I'll start making some parts soon. @Murican_Jeb Jumo 004 already looks like Juno Basic Engine, am I not right? It also has almost the same name. Won't some designing do the job? Z1 M4N
Hiya, do you think TweakScale support is possible in the future at all? Thanks for the making the mod, it let me create some of the planes I've always wanted to make:
blackheart612
@Z1 M4N You have nice looking planes right there. Unfortunately, to avoid additional dependency problems on update, I'd like to stick to firespitter alone as the plugin. It's definitely doable for those who would like to add it to their own instance of KSP. But AP+ will most likely never have its own Tweakscale configs on release. Wjolcz
I'm really tempted to install this mod, but I know that if I did so I would never leave Kerbin's atmosphere again.
blackheart612
@Veeltch I haven't been to space for a while now. Also, flight test! Improved the NK-12 Model somehow. Broke some textures in the process so fixed the texture breaks on improvement. Just function over performance for now. StevieC
Lookin' good! It might be nice to have a couple of flat-4 and/or flat-6 air-cooled engines of the sort found powering small Cessna high-wing and Piper low-wing general-aviation craft, something that sacrifices some high-speed performance in favor of better fuel-economy to allow for longer range. Would make certain observation contracts on Kerbin a bit more manageable. Again, just a friendly suggestion.
blackheart612
True enough, I'm not actively developing new parts though. I'm slowly doing stuff. I'd probably add some weak modern engines when I feel like it.
boontze
I don't know if it has already been requested but is there any chance of a razorback, radially attached cockpit (like in Retro-future)?
halowraith1
what about propfans? kind of like a turboprop and turbofan mashed into one, with the fan outside of a casing rather than having a separate duct. apparently quite efficient engines. the sound they make is pretty ominous too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhJNllbXBXo
blackheart612
@boontze It has been. But I said there might be issues. Plus the fact that I haven't ventured in any real IVA/Cockpit dev. @halowraith1 My take on propfans: They look.... weird. I'm not sure if I'll do them or not but we'll see. For now, I'm improving existing models. Which is one I made before as well. Skycrane helicopter engine! I had no parts so resized the MK3 for fun and testing. I'm ambivalent on its general appearance. If anybody has any opinion regarding the model or texture, throw it in. Edit: This is based of Grand Theft Auto's "Skylift" Here's the part alone: Spoiler Edited October 29, 2016 by blackheart612
Cheesecake
I have downloaded the latest Version for 1.2. I have only sound on the right side and one of the engines had no texture. Edit: Ok, i saw the known issues at OP. Edited October 29, 2016 by Cheesecake

SSgt Baloo
The textures for the Allison homage are missing, except for the Ascender (pusher) config. Also, when Spacedock is down, who or where do I report it in case nobody has reported it yet? ETA: This is still one of my favorite mods. SSgt Baloo
Thanks, but I have no idea what to do with that file. I'll just wait for it to be fixed. That pusher engine looks sweet! I need to dig out some pics of the ascender so I can build my own.
