Yeah you can certainly build your cage with it, but it's a different level of wizardry all together where that V12 is concerned. I've not seen it in action, but I've had a peek at a bit of the config... @SpannerMonkey(smce) takes no prisoners. Hey spanner, speaking of, any videos of that thing? GDJ
Mine's all stock (apart from the headlights and rack lights. Those are B9 and Tweakscale). I think she's ready for the Rally. Tougher than heck. EDIT: turns out this won't be the final design. I've reduced the fuel capacity (didn't need all that much) and tweaked the struts. She's down to 2.5 tonnes loaded. Max out the rear tires, put the front <> 1.8 and 2.3. That will take care of any oversteer and keep the chassis locked better to a heading, BUT, we should take this to the discussion thread and not clutter up this one. That will take care of any oversteer and keep the chassis locked better to a heading, I leave the SAS modules to "SAS Only" so, as pilot, I can't make them effect body roll. Instead, they act as kinda sway bars. Mid-air, the two small units aren't quite strong enough to twist the 5-6 ton body when the fuel tank empties and causes imbalance. Friction: I lower the front to .5, and leave the two rear axles alone. Perfect for my style, but likely the root of my issues when climbing more than 20* off-camber. I can live with it. In a heavy climb (45* or more) I'll set the rearmost axle friction to 2.5. I hardly ever play with spring-rate or damping, unless the vehicle is top-heavy, fragile, or prone to diving during breaking. EDIT: this is how I treat TR2L rover wheels (I think that's their name. The black ones) The ballon ones are a slightly different story. I tweak damping, still employ SAS sway bars, and focus on good proportions in wheelbase. 2:3 seems a good ratio. NKL
Did my own try at changing the ship files directly. I got rid of the "autostrutMode = ForceHeaviest" on the wheels... and saw that wheels are STILL autostruted. I'll have another go tonight. Btw, Is there a mod that simulate ICE? beside the old ICE mod that is not updated anymore?

There prob is, but the config params are relatively straightforward - should you be interested in making your own. EDIT: hey @Triop, I don't see it explicitly addressed anywhere. Are our vehicles allowed to use detachable equipment? Like expended modules, drop 'em when your done? Furthermore: can these drop pods be only fuel, or can they also include motors? I ask because I am using a small booster stage to accelerate through the flat part of stage 1, where your still on flat-as-hell KSC property. I use airbrakes. Not the A.I.R.B.R.A.K.E.S. because I think they're too large. Just a number of vertical and horizontal control surfaces coupled with the brakes and max control authority. DrunkenKerbalnaut
Can a kerbal repack a chute from an external command seat? You could augment with a Drogue or two, and repack in the go.

I like drifting and certainly not my vehicle rolling over. Yes, lower friction settings on the rear wheels makes the vehicle "seek" a lot. If you're driving electric, I surely understand why you'd want higher friction - more traction. 3 hours ago, NKL said: Did my own try at changing the ship files directly. I have a rear Spoiler spoiler for in air corrections but there's no getting around the wheels inherent breaking strength.. I don't want too many surfaces on the rover, it will spoil the looks. I have a good brake ratio between rear and front so I can brake at high speed so that coupled with jet engine cut will have to suffice.. I will have to concentrate really very hard indeed to whats ahead!

The max friction on the rear is helpful, and it's not a big deal if the COG is low enough.
