Can We Discuss What This is?

I remember the first time I saw a Mun Arch; it creeped the daylights out of me.

I was playing the demo and thanks to not having the internet I had no idea about any easter eggs - this was a few years ago lol.

I was playing in-capsule IOW playing almost exclusively from the pilot's view, had successfully entered a 20Km orbit of the Mun and was enjoying the all too small view from the tiny hatch window. I saw a sparkle of pixels and turned for a better look. I eventually dropped to a ground-skimming orbit of 8K and on the next pass looked again - I must say the thing gave me the shivers - talk about your exploration; I really felt like I'd discovered something amazing.

I went on to find the other easter eggs on the Mun, though I must admit for some of them I cheated a bit.

Congrats to Zeevon on a great find :)

I remember that during one of my first mun landings I landed right next to an easter egg purely by chance and I was totally stoked.

I did the same - jazzed after finding the large easter eggs on the Mun, I went on to look for eggs on Minmus. Didn't find a bloody thing. Orbited all over that bloody mint Timbit, not a thing at all.

I decided to put down and plant a flag because...that's what you do... I found a flattish high bit that looked cool to explore (I'd already been around the flats), landed, stepped out - and the bloody monolith was 200 meters behind my ship. DOH! :D

I saw a shiny dot on the edge of the crater I landed at and that how I found the monument to the moon landing.

Also, has anyone thought of an explanation for the formation of the mun archs? because on earth such arches would form as the result of erosion... but thats not going to happen on the mun.

The Arches are creatures of living rock.  During the long Munar nights, they frequently walk around like giant Slinkies.  They usually return to their normal places by sunrise and their footprints look like all the other craters so most folks don't believe this.  But it's true.  My Kerbals absolutely refuse to go rovering at night on Mun because this happened:

One of the very few easter eggs that are actually quite easy to find, all you have to do is roam around in low orbit and look for a twinkling object.

And when you find one, you just HAVE to build a base neae one, just in case your base gets a RCS bike of some sort in the future, so you can zip around such an arc.

Very simple really - they're God's ringbolts. He had to hoist the Mun into position somehow!
