I assume these sort of cages is to defend against drones or drone dropped weapons. The more sturdy ones is for defense against RPG or on top mortar type anti tank weapons.

From the summer camp.

A fun fact. In the very beginning of the current events, they were laughing at Russian trucks, enforced with same wooden beams.

It took them two years to start using same materials for armored combat vehicles.Still better than an expendable turret with expendable machine-gunner instead of mesh and wood.

Btw, @DDE, look at the tiles. They are tilted down, like on the Russian tank picture which you had posted a while ago.

I have a treat.

The imaginatively named "Molybden"(um) mine is part of the abandoned Tyrnauz mining combine, reaching up to almost 3000 m above sea level. Those who have been exploring it have found something remarkable: a UAZ SUV in a bottle.

https://t.me/v_bunkere_ne_strashno/2149

Apparently the scrap metal thieves still picking the site apart (the truck has been found in several places across the mine, some say there's even two of them) brought it down there piece by piece and then reassembled it... as best as they could. Highlights include a generator belt made from clothesline and an oil canister serving as a fuel tank.

Mad Max, eat your heart out.

P.S. and here I was thinking I can play KSP without KIS...

Feast your eyes, @JoeSchmuckatelli!

One of the prototype combat engineering amphibs, a Sheridan turret, and a 105 mm gun. It all makes sense in context (after all, the M10 Booker MPF is now a thing), but the combined result looks, well...

I'm mildly horrified.

Having ridden LVTP-7 in the water numerous times... I can't help envisioning how that WON'T float.

Aft down, nose in the air, water pouring in...

Bloop!

And here we have the French part-clipping bombs and rocket pods.

Engines, too.

Also, the rocket pods look having solid texture, without 3d holes.

Holy Ugliness, Batman!!!

Boeing Vertol BV-235 . It was the Apache competitor on the AAH program.

The enemy would die of fright by seeing this thing - probably lost the competition due some clause about cruelty on the Geneva Convention...

It's strange, why Boeing calls their division Boeing Vertol.

In Russian, "vertolyot" < "vert-o-lyot" = "rotary flier" is "helicopter".

But why the truncated Russian word is used by Boeing?
