Take-Two At E3 And The Possibility Of KSP 2 Being There Discussion

Recommended Posts

I actually think nobody was expecting the reaction KSP2 trailer got. It got way too many views for a niche game. 7.3 million to be precise.

I honestly think the whole delays and production "restart" came from a change of production value viewed on the game. They expect this game to be a franchise. Sure, it will never be GTA, but we already know KSP sells as much as the Anno series, and that's something. KSP1 sold 3.5 million units, it's not GTA, but it's not that small. And with the whole SpaceX fanbase, I honestly think it has potential to grow. Space exploration is recovering the "cool"/popular standard that was lost after the Apollo program.

Having multiplayer and cooler explosions, will only make it even more streamable. We also know this will probably follow Paradox model of launching one game every 5-7 years and fill the rest with patches and DLCs.  I think this game has potential to increase it's audience if the sequel proves worthy.

They did a "Diversity and Inclusivity" panel. I agree with the content, and a larger discussion in the gaming space does need to happen, but it was a very bold choice for E3.

Welcome to the forums!

That's dumbfounding, why would you talk about inclusion at E3? oh well.

Surely they must have tried showing or marketing games to gamers and game reporters at a gaming convention? I can't find any info about KSP/KSP2 that was discussed. Did they really not mention planned or upcoming titles?

They really did not. I mean, good on them for trying to do good with a huge platform, but I would have liked to see some ksp 2.

I guess we are going to have different shaded kerbals in the next release then?  Or at least KSP2

Can we have the female kerbals with the cropped hair, and ponytails on the males too?

Actually, the old kerbaliser web and android/iOS app but in-game and meaning we can have any kerbal style however we want it.

Also, Kerbals were supposed to be androgynous.  Except that they got given male names.  So later, female kerbals were introduced.  Except that they had rounded heads.  And no tongue.  Val on the start menu screen didn't have a visor... in space... for ages!

Imagine tuning in for an hour on your personal time for a hobby interest, just to rehash your employer's quarterly HR training and not even get paid for it...

So basically that was the T2 presentation?

I don't think Take Two's presentation is going to change how kerbals look or act. Kerbals are green, it would be silly if they really added other shades. I don't think there is going to be any changes to KSP 2.

I'm not suggesting different shades at all.  The opposite actually. But if TakeTwo are wanting to do diversity well, a great way to showcase this would be allowing skin options that they have already designed and allow hair styles to be moved to every kerbal model... which I'm guessing they have.

What do you mean "concerningly"?

It's a made up word, but basically I am starting to get concerned that a lot of resources are being put in to do show and tell every other friday

Personally I would say spend your time being concerned about things that are actually happening, but you do you.

They are doing internal S&T every other Friday anyway, we're just getting a tiny fraction of those.
