I can't speak for others but for myself I pronounce it JAY-PEGG.

Me too!

Yes, I say GIF with a hard G; DEFINITELY NOT "JIF"

Other, more intense pet peeves of mine are :

Turbine pronounced "Tur-bin" (It's "Turr-Buy-Ne" or something. I don't know how to effectively show the pronunciation through text)

Liebherr pronounced "Lee-bear" or "Lee-Berr" (It's Leeb-hair; If you are wondering, Kiebherr is "Keeb-Hair)

Drawer pronounced "Draw" (It's "Droor")

Like Gin.

Exactly the way the guy who invented it pronounces it, and all decent people have since it was the only image format available (I was there).

The hard g nonsense only started with dunno, millennials.

But yes, the English should stop using this unnecessary archaic "ph" and replace it with "f", and rename the extension to "jfeg", "phosphate" to "fosfate", and stop confusing me every time with "sulphur or sulfur"?.

That sounds doubleplusgood!

I'll have a stiff gin first.

I remember having a gin tonic on the restaurant patio in Kenya years ago. I made a point of washing my hands before going up to dinner to avoid germs. The place had a thatched roof... electricity via a generator out back. In addition to giraffes, there was a giant bull elephant right past the electric fence. My buddy and I later went for a walk past the fence, and the owner told us to walk gingerly over the fence—it was just a couple low wires, no gymnastics required.

yooo that looks tasty what is it?

?

It's gyro.

The Ancient Greeks noticed that when they have it onboard, the ship travel runs much more stable.

So, now we use a spinning thing to stablizie the space ships.

"Target" is pronounced with a hard G.

Not if you're a bit posh Down Under.  Then you pronounce it as "Tarjay"..

(NB: Target is a budget clothing store in Australia, if you don't know.)
