gussi111
Do you think we will be able to make a colony underwater with large domes where Kerbals would live in, and different underwater power production parts and parts for moving specifically underwater? jastrone
i dont see why not. but they would probably be useless since you cant launch things from them
Pthigrivi
Probably not in-scope at launch but I would love to see this and airships as an expansion or something.
Nirgal
I don't want any more delays, so if adding this means we need to wait even longer then I'd prefer this as a DLC. However the idea of underwater and floating colonies is very cool, which is more than enough reason to add them into the game. Imagine boring / melting your way down into a sub-surface ocean and setting up shop there. Edited September 13, 2021 by Nirgal

AtomicTech
It would be very fun to be able to, basically, Subnautica Sandbox in KSP 2.
BekfastDerp13
Underwater colonies could get you more science and stuff like that. Maybe on that ice planet featured in the trailer, you could build colonies under the ice and find about why the planet got cold.

Klapaucius
I always thought expanded underwater options would have been a great DLC for KSP1. This seems like the perfect way to implement it in KSP2. There will be a lot of folks who will not be interested, but it would be a great boon for those of us who are. I have no problems with a limited number of DLCs for things like this.

It would be nice if it were baked into KSP2. If not I suspect the mod community would rise to the occasion.

True, but I have always preferred stock or DLC for parts--it just makes it easier for craft sharing and means that things don't break on updates. Hohmannson
Moddability - wise: they have shown ground pylons supporting colony stuff multiple times. Their makeshift analogues in KSP1 can hold vessels underwater, on water surface, in air(will be ugly), and if you'll be able to somehow activate KSP2 building mode in those conditions, you will be able to build there. Scope-wise: i doubt there will be much specialised parts, but i really do hope there won't be hardcoded obstacles like limits for construction mode. Admiral Fluffy
Yes. Also, Floating launchpads would be cool. For a runway, just have a line of light up buoys in the water.
