Just I'm on Linux Ubuntu and have minimal system requirements in every thing (graphic card, RAM) except hard disk. Whenever I launch KSP it turns into a black screen and with top it says that one of the processes named "ksp.x86_64" is "D" (disfunctional or something). Then after like 1 hour it says "KSP is not responding". I have the "new" driver (the free and open one by default) and I can get the nvidia proprietary driver. However for some reasons I can't install it (compilation problem or whatever it is I don't remember).

0 BTW

Ummm, where is the "D"?  If it is in the column labeled "S", then that means it's in an uninterruptible sleep state.

How much memory do you have installed?  What sort of video card do you have installed?

A screenshot of the "top" screen might be helpful

Off hand, I'd point the finger at the video driver, but not really sure

Yes, I know the problem is from the graphic card driver. I use a nvidia 8800 Gee-force 340 that is 15 years old. The only problem is that I can't install the proprietary driver because of problems of compilator (requires gcc 9) and compilation (problems even with gcc 9).

I was forced to go to tty 2 because the graphic one (tty 1) was not responding. So I can't do a screenshot but only a photo (and I don't have any photo and I don't want to be forced to button-shutdown the computer).
