However, I’m not quite sure of your source, I want to say that DF-21 is in the middle prime of its life. Roughly like the CNSA’s CZ-2B and it’s “relatives”. Well stocked, technically reliable, and easy to use only means one thing for PLA/CNSA: the user can put whatever they want on it, such as something hypersonic. https://nonproliferation.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/web_peoples_liberation_army_rocket_force_order_of_battle_07102023.pdf Even if DF-21 stocks remain in reserve, the fact remains that DF-26 numbers are rising. kerbiloid
Have they already claimed that the 20 to 40 mln t deposit of lithium is what were they praying to? They have Sun Dance. The lithium is used for making artificial suns. There is a caldera. It belongs to the Yellowstone system, it's the oldest caldera of it. Yellowstone means "yellow stone", i.e. "stone of the sun color". So, many years ago the Indian tribes were doing a collective Sun Dance, they had conjured the spirits of Earth, the Sun had married Earth, and a great explosion has shaked the ground. When the smoke and dust disappeared, everyone had seen a yellow stone lying below. That's how the sacred lithium deposit appeared, and nobody but the Indians should touch it, or the Yellow Stone will get angry.

The "shoulders of giants" motif appears to go back as far as we can see. I can imagine individuals 20k+ years ago having insights and IQ analogous (adjusted for cultural level) to Newton or Einstein but on "shorter shoulders" and not a lot of cultural and language options for communicating or describing their insights so they took their epiphanies to the grave. Without the transmission of what we've learned to our children we are a handful of generations from the stone age Edited October 3, 2023 by darthgently

Without the transmission of what we've learned to our children we are a handful of generations from the stone age Like the cavedude (or dudette!) who figured out how to rub two sticks together long enough and hard enough to make fire, as well as the one who noticed rocks that sparked, and made fire with those? Before that, learning to preserve the embers of a forest fire and keep them alive for when needed would have been the work of a scientist…

kerbiloid
As it was quoted before: "In Australia they don't treat a black cat which is crossing your way as a bad omen. Because the black cat is the most harmless thing, which you can meet in Australia." P.S. A discussion about cats, bringing snakes was then following.
