Frozen_Heart
A new one piece mothership I'm working on. It weighs just about 45 tons and can carry 25 tons of cargo from LKO to LDO. TWR is very good for a mothership at 0.80. The shape means it has very good control while aerobraking and it won't go into a tumble. It can also carry a very small amount (10 tons) to Laythe. - - - Updated - - -Building a launcher was easy enough but for some reason the struts and fuel lines are messed up when I subassembly it :/ Anyone know how to stop this happening? Kurotenshi
Building a launcher was easy enough but for some reason the struts and fuel lines are messed up when I subassembly it :/ Anyone know how to stop this happening? When you make a subassembly, always drag it directly from the parent part to the save box. I've had fuel lines and struts disappear on me if I save detached parts. Hopefuly that helps

That way I can just drag it out and put it on the launcher.- - - Updated - - -Almost finished the space trials of my new mothership. Delivered a couple of dummy habitats from LKO to the Mun and then returned. Plenty of fuel left as well.

That way I can just drag it out and put it on the launcher. The select root thingy is a bit buggy sometimes, so beware. And why not put the launcher under the payload? In other news: I've officially gone completely mental with my new projectThese are all the modules I have so far, already over 200 parts and still a long way to go. Then replicating an STS that can lift everything, and I'm also gonna try to use a robotic arm as much as I can. It's my only non-stock build that I've ever planned to release, the only mods used are Infernal Robotics (and Tweakscale dependency) and KAS for strutting the Truss Section down (and hopefully make it less wobbly than a previous version I built ages ago)

Frozen_Heart
why not put the launcher under the payload? The launchers I use are very big and standardised. Its easier to just select payloads to place on top of them and then click launch.

Frozen_Heart
A reusable dropship lander I'm building. It handles almost as well as Cupcakes designs though is pretty fuel limited. I plan to leave it orbiting the Mun for future missions. This mission is going to have the lander, a rover, and a pair of ion satellites. I've never done a mothership mission before so its guaranteed to end in disaster...
