Just sharing an early concept of a 100% stock very tiny and light mechanism for switching VTOL to Jet mode (45° rotation);

Only downside is engine will flameout while performing the switch, but it's done quickly so no big deal.

Rep me if you like this!!

This is a proper circle in KSP language xD

Hi all,

Some may remember my SPR rovers from my Duna constellation mission.

Well after the loss of the thin white ailerons I had to rebuild this great little rover. In doing so I decided to make them part of another big Duna mission but make them a little bit smaller.

The original SPR rover I made seated three, two in the cabin and one rear facing outer seat.

The new one seats two, one inside one outside as the mission calls for four crew.

These rovers can dock to a surface base or even better, dock to each other so you can drive two separate vehicles to one location then split up covering more ground.

My proposed mission is in the very early stages so don't expect that for a while.

Anyway, here are some pics:

The wheel duality going on there is freaking awesome. Offset tool for the win.

(: The tool can be great but it's just inert and mindless, some players are tools themselves, some master the tool to create.. ;P

My engineers are taking orbital assembly a bit too literally and are trying to launch the VAB into space...

Bit of tuning still needed. The engines overheat and explode and the second stage won't separate. 5800 tons on the launch pad!

Also how do I make a nosecone for this?

Lovely! These kinds of small builds always take a lot of time for tinkering with little things, and I can definitely see you spent a lot of time making it look so good. I also like the way you dock them side-by-side instead of... *whispers* rear-to-rear.

Were you inspired by the Space Exploration Vehicle?

I certainly was! The first one I made for the constellation mission was my attempt at that mars rover!

I love making small detailed craft! They are so much fun!

edit, lol so many exclamation marks..

Wow, that's huge! For a nosecone, you're going to need to use a lot of triangular wing segments.

Jetpack suit!

Well, this works in that it does what I want. I got tired of doing gravity turns and thought 'Why not just shoot straight through the atmosphere and burn to orbit only in space? Why turn at all?' It requires virtually no piloting; just fire the engine at apoapsis (which is consistent every time). Uses cheapy boosters and all parts are recoverable. Anyway, it looks like crap because I threw it together from sub assemblies, etc. Still thinking over the aesthetics to make it look more realistic. I present: The Falcon Punch.

OMG thats amazing! loool!

So the suit is an attempt to fix two problems with jet packs I've seen, which is that they look too big and require a seated Kerbal. My solution is to make it look like a full body exoskeleton. I'm liking it so far, but the legs could be shorter.
