Hey guys, VITAS got me a free copy of KSP, and I got to Eve!
-
I've written almost 10 pages of the second chapter of "The children between worlds' and is looking to be longer than the first, the first chapter will be posted on the main thread soon
Also, I've got around 10,400 words

I have a mod idea for later, when I get a new laptop, and learn more about programming.
I want to make a mod pack about "Ark". Both a parts pack, and planet pack, the parts pack is a generation ship, several times larger than say an SLS, with an Orion drive for takeoff, an Alcubierre drive for the star travel, and 4 shuttles for planetfall, so I'll need to make a new resource, antimatter, and make it possible to get around Jool (Laythe's becoming radioactive/volcanic, but still with water!) I didn't see anything in the book that said it needed exotic matter, so I might need to read it again (You guys should too, it's really good), it will be able to hold 80 Kerbal's initially, and 140 max, life but now the planet packs: In the book there were 2 star systems they went too (Not saying why, read it) both with habitable planets, the first system, afaik has 2, maybe 3 planets, one rocky habitable planet, and too far out gas giants orbiting 82 eridani, about 20 ly away, the second system, is an unnamed red dwarf, 111 ly away, with I think 5 planets, with the innermost one being the habitable one, I'm also going to make a skybox, so the stars will be where they are irl.
What do you guys think, and any tips for when I start possibly next year?

A lot of people did But at the time i was biting off more than i could chew, Plus a lot of people had volunteered to do parts of the development and needless to say most of them didnt deliver. But now i've kinda partially curbed the ambitions to within my level, And i have learned enough Kopernicus to do it on my own.

YES.
@daniel l. I based my Antares Solar System mod after Dark Days!
And my mod above is my first ever mod and is exploding!

@NSEP I didn't realize you asked me a question...
Anyway, I'm a Boy Scout, so I talk to people my age once in a while, and I have you guys to talk to
-
I just got my braces off!
-
How have you guys been?

@NSEP That's very true. I'm sure all of the states I've been to would probably equal an area about the same size as Western Europe, or more. I've been to Illinois, Michigan, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. Just Looking at a globe, those states probably sum up to be the same size as Western Europe.

Same for me @legoclone09, but its a huge landmass AND a huge ocean away. I hate the sea climate were i live in.

Here's the basic plot of Infinitum; subject to change slightly as it's developed.
Almost 300 years from now, the crew of the Infinitum travels through a Wormhole to create a new life for themselves but find themselves in the middle of an Interstellar conflict between three powerful Alien civilizations trying to lead a galactic alliance in the Large Magellanic Cloud.
It's still an early WIP, but would any of you guys like to see it? I can put a preview here, and if you guys like it, I'll make a thread for it.
Also, it'll likely be ridiculously long, I'm planning for it to be at least 130k words, although I may push 200k (And yes, I know, a 70k word difference is big, I'm fully aware of that )

Happy birthday to me, I'm now seventeen

I just noticed these:

I think I'm going to write 'The Voyage through time' late next year, early '18.
It's going to likely be a SciFi thriller.
I think ahead.
-
Sci-Fi novel idea based of of an idea I had.
Now, as far as we know, wormholes can't be created naturally, and if they can, they're probably too small too detect/use, so my idea is if you build a wormhole gate without an exit, and, y'know, enter it, you'll pop out of a pre-existing wormhole instead of a naturally existing one that expands, or a white hole (If it's like a wormhole exit of course).
So that's going to be the abstract outline for a Sci-Fi novel set 100 years from now, where humanity builds a wormhole gate (Without an exit, still need to figure out an idea on why they enter without one, maybe space pirates, I dunno), and enters it out of curiosity, only to pop out in the Large Magellanic Cloud, at the presence of an Alien civilization, (Still debating on whether or not the Aliens has problems with another civ). Also need to work on some BS physics for it to make sense but I'll try to make it as accurate as possible, but you guys get the idea, right?
What do you think?
As for my WIP novels, they're on hold for now, sorry.

@electricpants I've finished 6 chapters, they just need to be edited, but I can't write more until I get a new laptop, or can borrow one for a long time.
@Matuchkin Okay.
@RandomGuy1824 I'll do my best, but I will not use Kerbals, sorry.
@LetsGoToMars! I'll change it, it's still only an idea.
@adsii1970 I'll try not to.
I've thought more about it last night, and I'm really liking the idea, I won't be writing it for awhile however, but what names do you have? I may use one of them, or it'll give me an idea.
-
Actually, I've been thinking a lot about it, and I might start writing soon, and by soon, I have no idea, before the summer I guess? But I have some of the characters visualized to a degree and the first couple chapters somewhat imagined.
Also, go to the lounge for an update for 'The Void' sorry in advance.
-
I may or may not be procrastinating by detailing solar systems in TCBW and Infinitum instead of writing.
BUTT I do have some more inspiration on the climaxes, plot twists, etc.
Also, reading back on what I have on TCBW so far.... I have a lotta rewriting to do But I think I can make the following chapters better.
Does no one have any input on my previous update? Can someone at least tell me elements of it is plausible? It is sci-fi after all.

Hey guys I've crossed the 30k words count on Infinitum And I'm almost finished with C8.

I think you guys will like this

Guys! I've had an idea for another sci fi book!!
DON'T WORRY!! I'M NOT WRITING IT 'TILL DECEMBER!!
Basically, in 30 years, Mars is being heavily colonized, and we begin terraformation, but after an expedition in a Martian cave, which finds native life, it's found to be biologically similar to Earth life... Yet much older, suggesting life on Earth was originally on Mars. It switches between Mars and Earth, the environmentalists who want to keep mars the way it is, and bring the colonists back to Earth, and the colonists, who want to stay, and live on mars without a spacesuit.
What do you think?
-
Who's going to Mars in the 2040s like me?

I have a friggin amazing idea for a fleet of Orion spacecraft to Poxima b.

I
hope that's not the case.
Anyway, now that I have time, here's the (Very basic) mission outline.
Now keep in mind, this is hypothetical, and I'm imagining a global catastrophe happening.
The launch complex is in northwestern Canada, at least 300 km away from civilization, where super Orions hundreds of meters fall, and dozens of meters wide are built, with thousands of nuked around a kiloton.
26 are built, each with an initial crew of 200, and max crew of 10k, making 5200 total crew members.
Once each one is built, each Orion would be launched once a week to give time to get the Orions ready for departure, after a year, they're all in orbit and ready to fly, they use about half of the nukes to get to .05c, and take a ~86 year journey to Proxina b.
Each Orion is within 10k kilometers from each other, for both safety and cast communication, no Orion is more than 1 light second away from another.
Each Orion has a massive gravity ring that gets put out when the nukes aren't firing that provides a half-g, with life support and farms in micro-g in the center, as well as several radiation proof rooms for when they're going off, the control decks take up one of those areas
Each Orion is fitted with 30 shuttle's and 2 tugs, 10 shuttle's are used for cargo, the rest, for crew. The tugs have NTR engines, and are used for collecting volatile for robotic space mining operations, while some crew stay in space to break the Orions down for space stations and raw materials
When the Orions get into orbit around Proxina b, they form a circle and are connected via orbital struts from the pusher plates that are no longer being used.
After scanning the surface for a viable landing location, most of the 780 shuttle's go down to the surface over a few months with the rest staying in space until the remaining crew members are ready to go down over the course of several years
Also, I'm on mobile so sorry for any errors.
-
That's a pretty good outline, Spaceception.
Also, don't worry @ProtoJeb21, I'm with you on LHS 1140b being habitable.
-
@ProtoJeb21 I just got a tweet from Prof. Mendez, he said it'll be up soon, they were waiting for changes
Also, rhe front of it is a large curved cone, where life spport, rad-proof rooms, and ship controls are at.
Then, it's the gravity ring, a huge inflatable ring 100 meters wide, just for crew.
After that, it's the cargo bay/shuttle dock.
Then the reactor, finally, the nukes and pulse plate.

Nice profile pic
Are you positive you want to change it

So what do you guys think of my new sig colors?
It's various blue and purple shades

Today is the 1 year anniversary of when I first joined the KSP forums, at the time, I only had the demo, and now, a year later, I have the full game, and it's awesome!
