  1. Hi and welcome! I myself am a KSP PC player, but a quick search turned up this picture below: If I'm understanding this correctly, it's a bit confusing, you'd need a quick tap on the Y button.
  2. Yeah these are the fun missions! If I'm not sure I can accomplish all of them, I just do the one or few contracts I know I can do and see if I can tackle some more while I'm performing them. If I'm convinced the craft can do it, I'll accept the extra contract(s) and return to the mission.
  3. You might be better served in the long run to use the "rate of ascent/descent indicator" to the right of the altimeter. Just keep the hand between 0 and -5 for a smooth landing. Almost every plane has a different "angle of attack" to fly level or make a landing. The throttle is even more of a factor in this, as you may already know, a lower setting needs a higher angle of attack. But using the rate indicator is always reliable. The fun and challenge of flying in IVA is certainly undeniable!
  4. I'm a big plane-nut, but rockets is where it's at for me in KSP. While I love planes the most, I use them mainly as a means to further my career in rocketry. Local science gathering on Kerbin is what I use them for, but they are a hassle to design well compared to a rocket. And, like most said, rockets get to space in a faster and more efficient way. All these things together means they are quite time-consuming in every respect and my playtime is limited. I still want to create an SSTO for kicks though... Edit: Now that I think about it. The title says: "Do You Prefer Rockets or Planes More in KSP?" but the poll asks if you like building rockets or planes more, which have 2 different meanings. But my post still answers both. For a KSP career and general space fairing, rockets. Building-wise I'd say it's planes, for the challenge.
  5. I too welcome the addition of text entry, though it highlights something else. When you do get your angle, or something else, on the value you want using the slider and go to text entry, you can see your value is not as exact. 90 degrees becomes 90.003 for instance. It makes me wonder what else may be "misaligned" though perhaps the error is negligible.
  6. Yeah I agree this DLC is pretty cool! The new DLC has managed to bring me back to KSP from a long hiatus. As an analog control fan, the way Robotics can be directly controlled in Breaking Ground is exactly how I always wanted it, but missed with the Infernal Robotics mod.
  7. Hi everyone! Though I'm not new here, I have been away for some time. I checked my last post and it was from a little over 2 years ago! I'm not sure why that hapened, life I guess. I did get married, so there's that! Perhaps a bit about myself. I like Sci-fi and technology in general. Like most here I'll bet! I'm especially fond of controls and cockpits, so I would still like to build a KSP controller with all the bells and whistles. I've saved up a lot of electronics and hardware, so I must stop making excuses for myself and just build it! On the forum I don't post a lot, but I do try to be helpfull when I do. There's a lot more I want to say (who would've thought?), but I'll do that in the relevant threads. See you in space!
  8. Does Windows itself recognise your controller? In other words, does the Arduino advertise all the axes properly?
  9. Oh come on! The ones opposed about the use of mods in this weeks challenge should take a look in the challenges thread. I think Squad is doing a great job comming up with an average of challenge types that are listed there. Only one challenge so far that requires the use of mods...
  10. Well this came as a surprise to me! Take-Two is an industry veteran and currently has a market value that's better than it's even been (if the stock market is anything to go by). So I'm curious to see what this combination can do for KSP! Oh, and since Take-Two has a history of distributing peripherals.....OFFICIAL KSP CONTROLLER!!
  11. I'm glad that those developers landed a nice job again! Though Valve employing most ex-squad members and modders, you'd think that Valve's got an ulterior motive... A spaceprogram sim perhaps?
  12. This challenge is about not using the GUI. In your linked post, you're talking about the GUI being too big, which is exactly the opposite of relevant here.
  13. This challenge sounds like fun! I might take a crack at this one. (famous last words)
  14. Well done everyone who participated and well done Speeding Mullet for jurying! Though, I'm sad I wasn't able to participate with my shuttle in time. I read about the challenge too late and it took too long to refine my design. But, I'll be sure to enter the main Shuttle Challenge!
  15. I'm not familliar with all the terms in your calculation (KOS?) so I'm not sure if you have it already, but it also depends on the angle your ship makes in relation to the planet. Veer off for just a degree in any direction and the thrust won't be sufficiënt. Better to add some trigonometry to account for this.
  16. You hit a good point there. Relays are in practice only necessary from Mün onwards. That said, I still don't understand how the signals from the other end on Kerbin opposite the KSC can reach it. Some other (space)centers on Kerbin? Will have to visit one of those positions the signal comes down at some day...
  17. This patch blindsided me! It came quicker than I expected. Good going Squad!
  18. I condone the absence of relays to teach having to deal with loss of signal. It taught me a great deal about the system all the while never giving me an interactive tutorial. The relays, when finally unlocked, are then a convenience to be used in the future as a sort of quality of life part.
  19. Jay! This update is Beta then ever! I'm sure you guys worked your ehh dishes off!
  20. Red Iron Crown, your explainations for time warp in multiplayer are enlighting! I always thought that asynchronous warp was brilliant, but the way you're telling it, it has some flaws that're not insignificant.
  21. Indeed kudos to the people that put a lot of effort into 1.2 and KSP in general. Apart from what may have happened behind the stage or not, I still love KSP in it's current form. I'll take this version 1.2 and we'll see what the future has in store.
  22. Please, let's not get all paranoid people. Innocent until proven guilty remember?
  23. Ah, the birds are finally getting some much needed rest at last! So ehh, the crickets are going to take over the night-shift right? Right? Seriously though, you're doing a great effort as always Squad!
  24. There're some really nice ones in between. Thanks!
  25. Ehh, just on top like a satelite. Preferably with a shroud. When landed, wiggle/RCS it off the landing stage.
