Cliff Simon, best know for his role as Baal (probably the best bad guy in Stargate SG-1), died age 58 after a kitesurfing accident.

I was hoping to see more of him in the rumored SG reboot.

If you have to go... that's not a bad way, having fun.

I always liked him in that role.

Queen of the Nürburgring, Sabine Schmitz.

Yeah, just found out. Cancer just plain sucks.

Schmitz previously estimated she had completed more than 20,000 laps at the Nürburgring, one of the most famous and challenging racetracks in the world.

She remains the only female driver to win the famous Nürburgring 24 Hours, achieving the remarkable feat twice.

Well, she was 104. That's a pretty good run!

I read this book when it was new:

(we literally got every single new children's book, my dad was high up at Western/Golden Press, and knew everyone in the industry in NYC. I still have so many, including from into the 1990s that he saved for future grandchildren that we must have 500-1000 children's books in the house.)

More are born every day, it just takes time for them to make their mark on the world.

RIP Beverly

Sometimes they don't get the chance. 2021 seems to have something against Russian junior leagues.

One of the greats has left.

Rest in peace, General Collins. You carried the fire for us all.
