  2. A game ending development has never meant the community for it disappears or that the game is somehow no longer worth playing. Back in my day, games actually ended development before they were released. Just look at Street Fighter. There are still community's playing Super Turbo and Third Strike. Honestly, I look forward to KSP1 reaching completion, and hope it can go out on the high note it deserves. Modders will no longer have to deal with an ever changing target. Everything will be able to mature without fear of being broken. I, for one, have a feeling KSP1 will be up there as one of those games I continue to return to, some of which are older than some on these forums. Time means nothing when the quality of the product is so awe inspiring.
  3. Is it really though? Surely there's a way to advertise such an amazing and unique game without resorting to lol splosions. That shot of the Kerbin rise from Mun is inspiring in the trailer. So many shots of the trailer are awe inspiring and very much do not involve explosions. Personally, I have always felt that "lolsokerbal" is an unnecessary crutch used by a fledgling development team unsure of the possible success of their little game. I'm fairly sure KSP has proven itself to be better than all that at this point.
  4. I pretty much wholeheartedly agree with this. As a wise Bac9 once said: Overall, I'm convinced the obsession with disasters and perception of Kerbals as worthless engineers only caring about explosions is destructive for the game. KSP deserves much more than being a glorified disaster simulator where rockets falling apart and crews being killed is the prime entertainment and the only expected result. The achievements of players who strive to be successful, who create beautiful, well-engineered, reliable designs, should never be devalued, and the opinion that going to space is impossibly hard deserves to be crushed and disproved over and over again. Kerbals are capable engineers and it's up to the player to utilize their technology well. For the sake of Kerbal-kind, LolSoKerbal needs to die.
  5. Because they're under the same publisher, created the original, and are decent human beings who want other decent human beings to succeed at creating a successor to the thing they love. Look closer. There's a ton. ...and this isn't a bad thing. Of course they'll use designs from the original for the sequel. It'd be odd if they didn't. Of course the assets are prettied up, but they're still KSP.
  6. There is literally no excuse. It's 8 years later. A mod has done it for nearly that amount of time. You can't blame minimum specs anymore.
  7. I mean, Squad has hired two companies now to make two separate attempts at creating a console version of KSP to middling success. Relieving them of all responsibility seems irresponsible.
  8. Well...It's a different company. So, there's that. I'm pretty sure RoverDude doesn't have the patent on base building in video games.
  9. For the same reason you responded to my post. Nothing will really come of it, but sometimes it's good to make your feelings known to the other party.
  10. ...or not take it. Which is what I'm doing for the year that Phoenix Point isn't on GOG. Gamer's always talk about not buying a companies product because of X, but rarely follow through. I'm to the point where I'm more than willing to follow through.
  11. I agree. Not enough free stuff. Won't add guns. It doesn't even run on my potato anymore. Game is ded. Later dudes.
  12. I mean. Phoenix Point said that too, and here we are. No offense, but people have a right to be skeptical about Epic Games eating up exclusives right now.
  13. If I were known to be a sarcastic snarkster, I might remind certain people of the times I said the only reason Take Two would buy KSP was to make KSP2, and how they vehemently denied such claims. Since I am an upstanding forum member and not a sarcastic snarkster, I will not say such things.
  14. This is one of the most egregious examples. Am i really to believe that not a single person working on the game brought this up at any time? ...and, if so, did the lead developer really just say "eh, it's good enough." It would have taken the most minimal of efforts to not make this mistake. It's the little things, people...
  15. I would not at all be mad if that analog indicator was removed. So much space that could be used to display so much more information. ...and that's okay. Not every game is for everyone. As a designer, it's not always wise to focus on making things for those who might use your product, over making things for those who will use your product.
  16. You're in luck. Squad still isn't owned by Take Two. They're contracted by Take Two to continue development on KSP, which Take Two bought from Squad. ...and 1.3 is pretty rad.
  17. I actually did this very thing for a while. Squad has stepped up their game recently, so it's back on my recommended list. Heck, I don't even need to use the "but download KER" caveat anymore.
  18. I have versions and mod collections all the way back to 0.24.2. Turns out I might be a crazy person.
  19. I do the same. I'm starting to debate whether it's necessary anymore... I'll probably keep my 1.3.1 stuff because 1.3.1 was awesome.
  20. Okay. This mod is perfect for my MM config making. Wish I had found it sooner. Thanks for this.
