Are tires bugged in this version?
klesh replied to erikinthebakery's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (Console)
They are bugged, for sure. We're hoping they will be fixed for the upcoming pc release, and that should trickle down to the consoles in a few months probably. -
Remove terrain quality setting
klesh replied to TheDestroyer111's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Let's not forget that KSP has to run on the consoles now. Presumably their specs are the min requirements. -
Boats and Planes
klesh replied to [Stupid name Here]'s topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
What platform do you play KSP on, OP? This is essential information to know before you go telling a guy to use a mod.- 10 replies

A link to Manley's YT channel would probably be more benficial.

Why is this game still on the market place?
klesh replied to ChillingCammy's topic in KSP1 Discussion
This frustration all comes from Squad treating KSP like it is still in early acess. People will forgive you for game breaking bugs that interrupt your ability to play the game, hence the discounted prices you see in early access. When you use industry standard definitions like "released" and "1.0", people are going to expect your game works. For some unknown reason, Squad continues to act like this game is in early access with a seemingly never-ending development that is counter to most of the industry's "released" games. Maybe this is because it is their first game, who knows. This should be chapter 1 in the game dev's "What not to do with your smash hit early access game"; which is a shame, as KSP was often herralded as one of the better examples of the early access process working properly. I think Flying Tiger shares much of the blame with this fiasco as well. Their record is less than stellar to begin with... They're pretty much a crappy mobile games dev. But then again Squad is the one that hired them and handed them their baby to botch. Disappointing all around. Edit: I want to add that any gripe I have is not with any of the Squad guys that post here, the issue is well above the regular Joe working there. Simply referring to "Squad" the entity, as opposed to the folks that just code away, tasked with what they are tasked with. -
Why orbit flags are so messed up?
klesh replied to Kirondoll's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
They are well aware, and as was mentioned have included information about fixing the situation in the last couple devnotes. -
I've gotten Chuck a few times. Unfortunately he was not a pilot.

I have no idea what channel it was from, it seemed like a few episodes of a show maybe spliced together, the video was several hours long. It featured Neil Tyson talking about strange things in the universe, on a level a little higher than your usual space documentary.

Why is this game still on the market place?

Yeah guys, only talk about good, productive things! Do it my way! -
Why is this game still on the market place?
klesh replied to ChillingCammy's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Sure. You're still going to get someone giving PC controls as an answer for how to do something, or vice versa. ... okay, is that A, B, X, Y, 1, 2, L paddle + Long hold or what? Posts regarding how a mod could do what they're asking for could be avoided too, were mods not an option. Maybe some kind of badge to select that shows which version(s) you own, or maybe a thread [prefix] to denote the platform in question would be cool. /offtopic -
Why is this game still on the market place?
klesh replied to ChillingCammy's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Somewhat fittingly, the only subforums devoted to the console versions of the game are in Technical Support. There almost isn't a place to ask that question in a console oriented discussion environment yet. -
Its not terribly crazy, but I did make a sucessful Mohole lander. Hard to design something to land in a giant 5km deep cone that you haven't really been to before.

Console Patches Update Discussion
klesh replied to James M's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (Console)
The difference between the forgiveness of being in an Early Acess program, and retail release where people expect a functional product. -
See title. I think Science experiments should be small things. Tons of effort is put in to miniaturizing them in real life, and while this isnt real life, the 1.25m form factor seems too large to me when compared to the other experiments. I tweakscale for my needs, but I'd like to know what you guys think.

I do this too. A Command pod of some kind, a heatshield, a battery, and enough RCS jets and monopropellant to perform a de-orbit maneuver. Done right, you can fit it all in a nice little, good looking package. My latest one was dubbed STEVe (Station Team Evacuation Vehicle [e]).

Stock "Fairings" vs Procedural Fairings
klesh replied to AlamoVampire's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
The procedural fairing's bases are alot nicer than the big clunky one in stock. I especially like the raised base. -
Use your imagination.

Don't forget you're answering question in the console section.

I need broken wheels fixed. ( as in damaged )
klesh replied to Motokid600's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
The status of the wheels in the persistent file should indicate broken, and swapping that out for whatever term they use for "working" should be fine. Paste here what you saw in the listing for the rover's wheels in your persistent file. -
Console Patches Update Discussion
klesh replied to James M's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (Console)
Its almost as if the Early Release mentality was applied to the release on console, or is still being applied to the PC version even. Take a look at how the Prison Architect guys ported their game. The port devs did tons of work refining the mouse only operation of the game to fit within new menus developed solely for the console that work great on the console.Look great too. No one is complaining. I think many of the problems can be directed at this dubious Flying Tiger Entertainment company. This guy seems to have a crystal ball regarding the problem we now see. Notice they're not on the forum here talking to us? -
Shows it pretty clearly marked as single player on the steam page. *shrugs* I dont know about the consoles.
-
Its a single-player game, though?
-
I think my current one is called "Space Station 1". Catchy huh?

So, more of an oversight on whoever wrote the original planetarium code at Squad for not considering axial tilt from the get go?
