  1. Well it kind of makes sense. While anything is being stored in a KIS container it doesn't really "exist" as any part of a craft.
  2. The OP actually explains things better than I could (hopefully you read it). But in general the whole point of the CRP is that you SHOULDN'T be adding your own personal resources to the CRP config file. All the resources in the CRP were added by the various modders who use those resources debating and deciding on a common configuration for that resource. If you have a lot of other resources you shouldn't be putting them into the CRP config, unless you want a CRP update to actually break yours. You should be making an alternate config file, say CDR_Zetasresources.cfg the irony here is that ABZB actually does understand, hence why he asked here in this thread for inclusion of new resources to the CRP.
  3. You do realize this mod was passed onto a new maintainer and has a new thread, as well as updated for 1.0.5 compatibility?
  4. Haha Thanks. I can't take credit for the launchpad video. It wasn't mine. I do remember when KIS came out a number of us were coming up with new ways to get the Packrat assembled, as you could no longer simply pull the pylon out like with the old KAS. The other guy beat me to the original video, which honestly at the time was a much easier new method than I had come up with. Mine on the Mun was super quick. My software was acting up so the video is crap, and I did it in one take, my mistakes and all. Still I'm glad it helped.
  5. You obviously don't seem to grasp the point of the CRP.
  6. All the latest versions. I was using a USI KIS Kontainer, 2.5 model which holds 20k. IIRC the packrat parts etc took up about 10k total. It was a super quickie setup just to demonstrate assembly.
  7. You have found the Kraken. He lurks in KSP waiting for unsuspecting ground bases. Seriously though, It is an unfortunate thing with the way KSP works.
  8. Personally I would prefer the stock contract system to limit to just stock command pods for rescue missions, or allow for some setting or flag to block certain parts from being used in rescue contracts.
  9. You could have just watched the video I posted above for free. But since you offered, here is my paypal link. You didn't specify that it had to be a pretty video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8A_xAg58EbY&feature=youtu.be
  10. Joys of rescue contracts. AFAIK there is no way to limit what the contract system will use as a pod for rescue contracts. I have asked in support as well.
  11. The stakes only work with an EPL survey station. For EPL it is a MM configed hitchhiker can. For MKS it is part of the MKS Pioneer module
  12. Actually it can. But the method changed when Kospy made KIS https://youtu.be/QI_4_z3LXmU
  13. Really? I stopped using tweakscale geez probably 9 months ago and never looked back. It has always been a bug inducing mod. I honestly haven't missed it.
  14. I don't disagree. It is just a matter of balance. Which I am confident you have a good handle on. I would think that USI-LS + MKS would have a similar balance for happiness as it already has for converter efficiency (in terms of not overcrowding).
  15. It all sounds interesting. My concern/question would be USI-LS in conjunction with MKS and interplanetary transfer. IMO it can be enough of a challenge to fly out to some of the far reaching planets, while keeping your rocket manageable. This I guess would also factor in for anyone using USI-LS without MKS. I would not want to have to add tons of parts to the rocket just to deal with happiness issues. For example I wouldn't necessarily want to have to build an entire interplanetary OKS station just to keep the kerbals happy enough to make it to eeloo. Or without MKS have to add a bunch of hitchhiker cans or something to give them space to be happy. That being said, given your track record I am not concerned that you have some good ideas to balance this mechanic without becoming overly tedious.
  16. Not to steer away from a USI mod, but this is a cool design. I imagine Roverdude would even approve. It is a shame when some obviously talented modders seem to lack the ability to finish a project. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/77943-portable-rover-components-new-project-from-aset-up-290714/
  17. Same as anything else stored as KIS inventory. IE a science experiment can't be used as it isn't part of the craft. LS container is a container of food that can't be eaten.
  18. Just curious, but did Roverdude indicate he was making one somewhere? I only ask because historically Roverdude has made some great IVA's where it matters (like the karibou cockpit) but to date he hasn't ever done a fancy IVA for any habitat parts. According to his streams IVA's are a real PITA and not that "fun" to make.
  19. well yes, and article titles have always been accurate vs. attention grabbing. The point still is that nowhere in the actual article are any of the games actually being called mundane.
  20. It is amazing the difference a word can make. I would respectively ask everyone to carefully read the first sentence: They key word is "seemingly". The addition of that word changes the nature from KSP being "mundane" and "seemingly mundane". The latter, which I would agree with, is that KSP and many games like it may "seem" mundane on the surface. What we all know is that under the surface it is far from mundane.
  21. No you don't. You should always be connecting a part to something. Even if that is anchoring it to the ground.
