  1. Are you sure you are on the latest version of KIS? (V 1.1.4)
  2. Ah, that makes sense. Highly annoying, but makes sense. Do you know if there is a way to fix/hack this directly in the save file or anything? Otherwise I'm guessing I will have a constant issue of KAS ports being perma stuck to one side.
  3. I'm not sure if this is a KIS or KAS issue, since it is a KAS part, but I'm going to gamble on KIS since it is the removal that is the issue. I recently had 2 craft landed on minmus. I used an engineer with a drill to attach 2 of the new KAS connectors, one to each ship and link them together to transfer fuel. The fuel transfer finished fine. I unlinked and then removed each pipe connector. My engineer then boarded the Minmus Ore mining/refining craft and my game promptly crashed. I reloaded to find that the game had not saved all the way up to that point. I returned to the game after I transferred fuel, but before I had unlinked the KAS pipe. So I re-equipped my drill and unlinked. I then removed the Connector from the mining craft no problem. But when I attempt to remove the connector from the other craft, I'm getting the error that I cannot remove it because it is connected to 1 other thing. I have tried reloading, quick saving and reloading the save, and it just seems to be stuck on that craft now. Not sure how to troubleshoot from here. It's not the end of the world, except I am down one connector now for use on other crafts that may land.
  4. I am familiar with the term. And in my opinion I did attempt to reply in as polite a manner as possible. And I made it as useful as possible by simply pointing out why such things happen, as well as where the information can be found so that he, as well as others might actually look rather than post the same question again. I cannot control the other two who replied, but if you are replying to ME, it would be nice to at least refer to what "I" wrote rather than lump me in with everyone. I actually helped putting some KIS updates into the MKS parts, but I see you posted over there so I will take this part of the discussion to the relevant thread.
  5. Not really, but nice try. 19 people wasted thread space by not bothering to either read the release notes, or take 30 seconds to look back on average 1 page. 3 people are pointing that out in an attempt to stem the tide. If those 3 posts stop just one person before they commit the same offense it was worth it. Actually being in the EVA items category does not give them specific functionality. There are other parameters that deal with that. That being said, Kospy was nice enough to include an old parts pack for backwards functionality. I certainly don't expect him to put much work into much else, considering they are parts he considers depricated. You can use Notepad++ and about 60 seconds to add this to each part to put them in that category if you wanted. MODULE { name = ModuleKISItem editorItemsCategory = true }
  6. Just curious, and hopefully this isn't a bonehead question. But for several parameters for ModuleKISItem it says to "use item debug tool to find names". But I have no idea what the item debug tool is. I googled but only got references to the in game debug menu that does not really seem relevant.
  7. I can't take credit. Not my video. It was posted earlier in the thread.
  8. This mostly works, although with the packrat no longer being a probe core you actually have to board the packrat to release the separator https://youtu.be/QI_4_z3LXmU The seat issue isn't KIS but KSP https://github.com/KospY/KIS/issues/41
  9. Why should there be an automatic assumption when you bring up a potential issue, that we should know you are running an older version? Given the number of changes in both KIS and KAS recently, by failing to mention this key fact you basically wasted people's time barking up the wrong tree trying to help you. And no, most modders state pretty clearly they aren't supporting old versions. They usually barely have enough time working on the current ones. And often bugs that existed in older versions were specifically fixed in newer ones.
  10. There is always the "How does it work?" section of the OP.
  11. The only reason it has caused some attitude is that 1. The OP clearly states the minimum version of KIS required, so it should be easy for people to check and ensure they have the proper minimum version. 2. Since the update there has been at least 1 post per page asking the same question as you, with the same answer being update KIS. Anyone taking a few seconds to read back should by now find the answer without needing to post. Otherwise, glad you are working now.
  12. Hmm I landed fine without jettisoning the engine. But the kickstand didn't work. Just buried itself right into the ground. I attribute that to KSP bugginess however.
  13. From your previous post it sounds like you installed the old parts wrong.
  14. That is pretty standard that any ship that has parts that suddenly no longer exist. Not just KAS but anytime you have a mod that either removes parts or if you remove a mod you had previously used.
  15. I have only tested once, but Valentina survived the landing. I do kind of recall the landing being a bit faster than normal but no crash on impact.
  16. https://github.com/KospY/KIS/wiki/ModuleKISItem editoritemscategory = true does it.
  17. I would log a github. Also it's good to specify that the cost goes to 4,458,890 funds empty. So its not like you are forgetting to factor in the cost of rocketparts. [edit] NINJA'd
  18. Yea, WIS is never gonna happen. I wondered if I would shake out any EVE players on that one. Heck T3 rebalancing was "soon" like 2 years ago.
  19. I know I know. Was just curious how the bee removal was going. I have my first astroid hitting Kerbin's SOI in 2 Kerbal days... :-)
  20. Balanced in what aspect? For VTOL's I gave up trying to make them perfectly balanced. I'm too impatient. But Throttle controlled avionics saves me in that regard. It can take even a horribly balanced VTOL and make it stable.
  21. So post update I was playing with the packrat. One nitpick is that the new KIS settings make it a bit OP. All of the parts have been set with a KIS storage override of 100 and the wheels at 700. So based on this you can fit 7 complete packrats (with top rack) into an MKS base unit. A complete packrat will fit into a KIS small container with room to spare. It doesn't really fit with the way KIS storage size works. Also the method used to build that prog outlines in his video in post #836 doesn't work anymore. I'm guessing due to the removal of the probe core was the cause. I think there is an alternative way to do it but I need to get to sleep.
  22. Man I love these mods, but it's making my head hurt... :-)
  23. 1. Make sure you have a tool equipped 2. Hold X to attach?
