  1. I've probably seen it about 20 times. Sometimes I go for months without seeing it, sometimes I see it several times in a day. That's the beauty of random number generators.
  2. Go for Steam. A little file fiddling is required. However, the upside of Steam is that it has extremely heavy-duty servers, compared to the KSP servers which turn into a puddle of molten slag every time a release comes out.
  3. So much this. Every time I play Besiege I have to spend an hour recuperating in the KSP editor.
  4. ... Wow. PC Gamer may have to change KSP's rating, as it does appear that KSP boosts immune systems of nearby children.
  5. I self-identify as an attack helicopter. Jokes aside, as of this post the poll stands at about 90% male, which is rather interesting, considering that's far lower than the gaming community as a whole. One wonders why. Is it solely because of less interest in STEM among women? Or perhaps the demographics of "female," "plays computer games," and "into STEM" don't overlap all that much? Or are women less likely to post/visit the forums (and if so, why?) Or something else? Really, this raises more questions than it answers. Also, this should probably be moved to the Lounge or Kerbal Network, as it's essentially irrelevant to the game.
  6. I just finished building my new computer, so I now have access to unparalleled raw power in the form of an overclocked i5-6600K and a GTX 960. I'm thinking of making a cinematic/trailer thing for KSP. I have a tiny bit of video editing experience (as in, occasionally I make science videos in iMovie) and I'm completely new to a lot of this. So do you guys have any advice on screen recording software, or video editing or music, or anything?
  7. Space program? What's a program? I just spend my entire time setting up BDArmory dogfights.
  8. I don't know about random things in KSP, but here's a relevant xkcd:
  9. Yeah, Cities beat out KSP in the GOTY ("Golden Cube") award in the Unity Awards. KSP was runner-up. (Also, I think the awards are based on community voting.)
  10. Tough competition it is, though. Didn't Cities beat KSP for GOTY in the Unity Awards?
  11. I did not! But... Wasn't Fallout Shelter some crappy mobile tie-in?
  12. Space simulation. Cities:Skylines comes close in the "simulator" category, IMHO.
  13. Thanks. I love that there's a website dedicated solely to replying condescendingly when people ask stupid questions. That said, it needs some updating. I can't remember the last time I searched from the actual Google home page... Oh yeah, the thread. Erm... "KSP Forum Servers Struck by Meteorite"
  14. Wait, who was David Bowie again? (The joys of being a young person on the Internet.)
  15. Anything to do with the forum upgrade. At all.
  16. That would make a great name for a Kerbal news show. Hi, I'm Anderson Kerman, with Krakenport! This just in: KSIS flag spotted at Kay Pride parade in Kengland! (I don't know what a "Kay pride" parade would be. Maybe it's a parade where Kerbals express their love for jewelry kompanies.)
  17. "It's not rocket science" joke counter: 4,583,710. Aside from that, the new aero model is easier. Build something that looks like a fighter jet, it acts like a fighter jet. Build something that looks like a rocket, it flies like a rocket, and so on.
  18. Fixed your caps and punctuation. The "comms thing" is an antenna. Find them in the Science tab.
  19. Odds are it's a RAM based crash. These are pretty common (especially with mods and such installed, or after playing for a while), the only thing posting about it on the forums will do is clutter up the support forum. Crash logs aren't everything, and the developers don't need five squillion core dumps saying the exact same thing. On the off chance it was not just a RAM-based crash, they/we need more info than just the crash log. Can you tell me what you were doing at the time? Can you reliably reproduce the crash by following a certain set of steps? Was it a freeze or did it just pop you back to desktop? Are you running OS X (what version?), Windows (what version?), Linux (what version/flavor/build/thing?) What are your system specs? (CPU, RAM, GPU) Most importantly, do you have any mods installed? Make a thread with that info, and wait for a reply. (However, if you can't reliably reproduce the crash, it's probably RAM based. Don't bother. Just suck it up and pray for 1.1.)
  20. It's like using a calculator. If you understand the concept of addition, you don't need to do it manually all the time. Just do it manually every once in a while, or you'll end up like me-I'm learning math 2-3 years past my grade level, but two-digit multiplication? Nope, too hard
  21. I didn't end up finishing this, but here: On the first day of Christmas, SQUAD gave to me: A game called KSP. On the second day of Christmas, SQUAD gave to me: two Kerbin moons and a game called KSP. On the third day of Christmas, SQUAD gave to me: three crashed ships, two Kerbin moons, and a game called KSP. On the fourth day of Christmas, SQUAD gave to me: four chief Kerbals, three crashed ships, two Kerbin moons, and a game called KSP. On the fifth day of Christmas, SQUAD gave to me: five Kraken strikes, four chief Kerbals, three crashed ships, two Kerbin moons, and a game called KSP.
